Ok hopefully that ends this nonsense of wanting to put 3 loss helmet teams in the playoffs.

Bama lost 3 games and got blown out by OU for a reason.

Expand

It won't.  This just cancels the first-round blow outs so we can run the arguments back next year and make money off the eyeballs over the manufactured arguing.

I know that we want to dunk on Alabama deservingly, but that Indiana game against Ohio State was one of the most embarrassing that I’ve seen from a supposed top team. Indiana was burning clock in the second half to make the score look better than it actually was.

Yes, Indiana was outclassed. But it was the closest first round CFP game. Doesn’t mean Bama or Ole Miss would’ve done better. Bama got blown out by OU, for goodness sake.

With the 12-team playoff, many teams are going to be outclassed in the first round. And some won’t. And there will be some upsets over the long term. That’s ok.

Exactly. Just like the NFL. For some reason ESPN thought this would be wildly different.

The 4-team playoff was full of blowouts.  Why would letting worse teams in change that?  It's almost like this money grab wasn't needed.

The only argument against it is players who are slightly hurt or might be hurt will not want to come out for a whole series and will stay in and try to play.  Guys are competitive and don't want to fee like they are letting their team down and sometimes can't judge what is best i.e. asking a guy with a possible concussion if he is good to go vs forcing them to undergo an exam.

so if a QB gets dinged in the leg he's out for the drive?

He stopped the Gump dick riding pretty much right after Saban hung it up. He's moved on to Georgia, and to a lesser degree. .us

Give each team a set number of penalty timeouts per half. Once those are used up, both the injured player and a player of the other team's choosing have to sit out a play.

I would rather watch shitty playoff game, than shitty bowl games. There are blowouts in championship games. Playoffs will have the same ebb and flow to them. Just happy to teams that aren’t missing all their best players

Hate to break it to you but he wasn’t alone with that take. Heck, most of the national writers at least had the aggy game penciled in as a loss.

Woah now, I kind of like the possibility of 3 loss helmet schools getting favorable treatment.  Not this year of course, but perhaps in later years.

Who calls the offensive plays for Alabama.  DeBoer or Nick Sheridan?

Expand

Neither. It’s Dr. Stephen Brule, evidently.

If you were an NFL general manager, would you draft Jalen Milroe in any round? I feel sorry for him but he needs a serious amount of training at the basic level before I want him playing quarterback for me again. God be wi’ ye, young man.

Maybe my beloved Crimson Tide is entering the downward spiral to the crumbling path to the valley of the agony of defeat.

Look - I have never lorded a victory over anyone Alabama played in any sport but I have read a number of scores of random football games with great satisfaction (Some team 77 - Franchione A&M Zip) (Anyone X+1 - Auburn X).

To the victor go the spoils. C’est la vie, say the old folks, goes to show you never can tell. I still love college football. Go win it all, Horns. I’m hanging it up for a few days.

It's interesting, how much do you blame the coaching staff when it's one single player who is putting you in the hole over and over?

If by "you", you mean Bama fans/donors, then yes, it is interesting indeed.

Having said that, Bama is not a well coached team right now.

Deboer's a good coach.  I want to see him with a qb that can run his Washington offense

Bama fans are less than gruntled with Deboer and they are VERY unrealistic about shit.

He loses a couple in the first half of next season and they'll be looking around.

Awesome. Because what college football needs more than anything right now is more timeouts / commercials.

Finebaum and Bama fans will tell you they just need a QB who sounds much taller on the radio.

Yes because he is good enough with the ball in his hands to be an nfl rb or wr.

I take it back. Wink is a fucking animal as a defensive coordinator.

wish he would have had it click with this team earlier than thanksgiving but without a QB it wouldn’t have really mattered anyway.

8-5 is fucking terrible but honestly happy with the season for Michigan just based on how those 8 wins game. Should have beaten Illinois and Indiana but fuck it they weren’t going to make a playoff run so starting and ending 2024 with wins over bama is acceptable.

Ohio state couldn’t beat this offense. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Naw bro. You are what we saw earlier this year. Good defense and terrible offense. Good offensive teams are going to beat you because you cannot move the football and your defense has to be on the field all game. However, it makes perfect sense that you beat Milroe and Will Howard. Both of those guys are a rollercoaster ride even in perfect situations.

@Codaxx is right shitty playoff games are better than shitty bowl games.

12/16 team playoffs silence all legitimate complaints. Yeah the fringe who are the last in and last out but other than seeding it’s great.

the only possible controversy left is Texas winning it all beating ND or PSU and Georgia squawking.  But hey, it’s a playoff determined champion, win at the right time bitches.

So I have only minor complaints

Michigan was never going to beat Texas this year, but Bama and Ohio state were both two good offenses that Michigan was able to somehow beat. If Michigan would have had a QB that was even average for the Big Ten they would have been 9-3, 10-2 and everyone would have been bitching about them getting left out of the playoffs instead of Bama.

Oregon and Texas were always losses. IU should have been a win for Michigan but Tuttle literally couldn't do anything but get sacked and throw picks. Michigan had a first down inside the 30 with 2 minutes left (and I could be wrong here) and went sack, run for life throw away, sack, side arm huck to the middle of the field to end the game.

Oh well, hope you skullfuck Day and his team of mercs next week. Downs is legit, Smith is Legit, but the rest of the team didn't impress me at all. Go hang 100 on them.
