Someone tried to tell me how Leavitt was the better QB in this game.

Here it was:

hahah which of you morons were arguing that Ewers is better than Leavitt in this thread earlier? There’s been a half a dozen plays by him in this game better than anything we’ve seen from Quinn and half of his dropbacks, he’s having to draw up in the dirt on the playground

The targeting no call was definitely missed by the refs live.  Not sure how they missed it in the replay

At this point, I have no idea what is and is not targeting.

Ewers deficiencies are pretty loud but a lot of his strengths, highlighted here, aren't well understood or transparent.

He quite often gets us in the right plays when the opportunity presents itself.

Ewers is absolutely amazing in the short and intermediate passing game. Otherwise, he’s really not dangerous as a passer or runner.

The Michigan game was intermediate success. Outside of one long TD pass against Alabama, the long shots are an issue. Today’s success came on both short and intermediate passing. Sark needs to cut the BS and stick with what has shown to work over and over for Quinn.

Yep.  I have extremely vivid dreams and have one, at least once a month, in which Texas loses a game like this.  Glad my nightmare didn't come true.

Glad to not be the victim in someone else’s Cinderella season story.

Horns need to learn from the mistakes, “burn”the game film and start prepping. If they play like this against OSU/Ducks then yes, bad things. But you pearl clutchers can’t use transferrance for the next game.

Well,  maybe for Bert.

It would help if we had a receiver who could track a deep ball. Not that Quinn helps by putting it up in the lights every time

In Leavitt's defense, he was running for his life and his best receiver was Troy Omiere. He's a douche, but he did pretty well all things considered.

If we were underdogs, this would be really fun.  But damn these games take years off my life!

Yet the horns advance to the final four and my bourbon pour advance with some Takara.  🤘. Let’s keep it going.

I've watched the last play multiple X's now and Mukuba read that perfectly pre- and post snap. He motioned for McDonald to  move up  on his man to take away the bubble and then looked back perfectly to move to the ball and get there first.

Great read and reaction!! 🤘

Yep.... it was a fake WR screen and then out to the dead zone area, not only read it but then the ball skills to go up and take it away from the WR is what was special.  That's what gets you paid on Sundays.

After the game, I guess he could

But seriously - all props to Skattabo, the guy played his guts out. He talked a ton of shit, and then went out in the 2nd half and put his team on his shoulders. Hats off to the guy.

Yep. Earlier in the game my wife was calling him Skattabohoo. But he did an outstanding job.

Quinn was doggy doo-doo through 3.5 quarters after he arm-punted an INT into double coverage with an 8-point lead and 5 minutes to play. Good on you for having the foresight to know that he’d get another 4 possessions to make up for a treacherous performance. Leavitt is a cunt, but he also played well for a guy with no OL and no offensive skill position players that would sniff snaps at Texas outside of his mouth-breathing RB.

Appears to be when they hit you in the helmet and they wanted to hit you in the helmet with their helmet from the top of their helmet unless they didn't mean to.

Not illegal to push.

It may be illegal for an OL to lay on the ground and suplex an RB into the end zone.

It’s illegal to pull, 5 yard penalty read a few pages back

Ohio state is going to rape jail ass fuck our asses with no Vaseline Lilly Philips 100 man train style

Ohio State has been much like us all year.

Sometimes they look like a national title team and other times they lose to Michigan/barely beat Nebraska/etc. I think we're very similar teams that have a shitload of talent but have been inconsistent all year.

not sure if we're talking about the same thing but that fucking Skattebo TD in OT was fucking bullshit and fuck the tv booth guys for ignoring the obvious offensive penalty of helping the runner by pulling him forward. total horseshit.

Absolutely.  Desert wolverine was a beast..... Leavitt.... Fuck that guy.  He's athletic as fuck but he's not a disciplined passer.  In 2 years, that kid will be a problem though.  He wasn't the best QB on the field though.

Of course I don’t care about Arizona State specifically.

Obviously I have a vested interest in the Big 12 hanging in the playoffs.

Good job ESPN game summary

Quote

Skattebo led the Sun Devils back from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter and put his team ahead for the first time all day with a 3-yard touchdown run to start overtime against No. 4 Texas (13-2).

He backs it up. I don’t mind talking when you walk the walk.  He single handled almost. Suh’d us

Their QB was a huge part of it. Without him, they aren't in it. The one-two combo they both present is potent. And their play caller knew how to maximize it.

This game was the platonic ideal of a Quinn Ewers game. Absolutely dazzling at the beginning and end with a bunch of lackadaisical throws and head-scratching decisions in between. It’s what makes him so frustrating because you can see the talent is there.
