How the fuck is that on Wisner? He was getting tackled regardless.

The fumble is.  Lucky it didn't turn 2 points into 7.

If every fucking pass play didn’t involve a slow-developing “fake” hand-off, maybe this offense could just go out there and spread it 4 wide and drop back on every play. But Sark’s obsession with “illusion” is to his own detriment when his running game is not a threat.

It wasn't...... but he didn't fight very hard to get out of the EZ.  It's a mindset.  It was probably smart because he probably fumbles....... but definitely not his fault.  It was Golden's but I hate the play call.  We're coaching scared and Sark is utterly getting his ass handed to him.

Why is a 175 pound receiver blocking on the line?

Can we get arch in with some

zone reads

Or just have him run the normal offense and see what happens.

He needs experience if we wanna win the next 2.

I thought Sark was supposed to be an offensive genius and QB whisperer.

Fuck me. Sticking with Ewers is gonna cost us a title.

The only way Sark plays Arch is if Ewers gets hurt.

Ewers isn’t the problem retard. Our OL is getting dominated.

Both things can be true.

Ewers is not a threat to defenses in almost any category.

At the same time, the OL (especially the interior), is extremely inconsistent, and entirely unreliable at pass blocking - especially on plays that take longer to develop.

Which brings up a third issue. The play calling needs to account for all those issues.

Their OL is also getting dominated but a running qb helps move the ball.  It matters especially when your qb isn’t seeing the blitz.

To who? Are you stupid?

Your TEs and backs are in blocking. You can fire it into the ground behind the line of scrimmage. Same as if your screen is blown up and you just fire into the ground to avoid a sack.

It's a heads up play that needs to be made. Leavitt is a redshirt freshman and he's been making heads up plays throwing the ball away when necessary. Our 4th year, 3rd as a starter, QB doesn't.

Would you trust him to try and make a play after recovering the ball?  I sure as shit wouldn’t.

The left side of the end zone was pretty open. If Ewers had any speed, he coulda sprinted left and got the fucking ball out of the end zone. You gotta have a mobile QB at this level. Goddammit.

To fucking any space on the field or straight down?
For at worst a penalty?

Is grounding in the endzone a safety?

Good point. That would have been a safety regardless.

Thanks for pointing it out and not being a dick.

All week long talking heads said Texas would destroy ASU in the trenches. The trenches are starting to be won by ASU.

There were six defenders around him. Unfortunately taking the safety was the right call. Eliminates a fumble, not INT and to be clear there was as no one to pass it to so intentional grounding and a safety. So going down was actually a situationally aware decision. He actually deserves credit for not panicking and doing something stupid.

To be fair - if we are looking for any sort of silver lining - ASU came into this very fresh and we had to play an extra game. That won't be the case again if we advance.

Still, this shouldn't have ever been a contest.

He's blocking a safety..... it's not unheard of, but it was a blitz and he didn't execute.  Sark should have known they were going to take a chance there for the safety and blitz.  Again, coaching.

Hard to think of in that quick of a moment, but I think Quinn could have thrown a pass instead of taking the safety. Ball never hit the ground. Should be treated like a flea flicker.

Throw it at Wingo’s feet. Last thing you can do is give up and take a sack.

If he throws it away is it grounding?  He could have tried that.

Where is he supposed to throw it?  It's a running play.  Guys aren't even running routes.  And he's in the pocket.  And he's told his whole life to get to a loose ball in the end zone and don't be a hero, safety instead of touchdown.  He did everything right there.

That was my thought. Not sure on the rule.

Tough to make the split second decision though.

best shot was to get out the pocket and throw it.... unlikely he would be that fast to do it.

When you have talent you need to just play straight up sometimes
