They did not deserve a bye. They deserved the 9 seed. Congrats on covering the spread with a month to prepare.

And with a few assists from

bad calls: kicker penalty wasn't one

missed calls: (approximately 314 missed holding calls), OL pulling Skattebo into the end zone, blatant targeting missed on Bond, and linemen way down field when Leavitt was running like a decapitated chicken

I completed half my degree at ASU. They’re a sleeping giant. Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe is behind them heavily. I wouldn’t be surprised if  they become a playoff regular.

I was actually shocked by the lack of talent in that cheerleader squad... I would have expected much better having once lived in Tucson and spending plenty of time in Phoenix. The pickins aren't slim by any means.

Ohio State fans online stated their opponents had 0 holding calls all year against them prior to last night. So it seems like this is a systemic b10 issue.

Bobby talks about this a lot. Honestly, Sark and his staff are experienced and paid well enough that they should know the different crews' tendencies. No holding? More PI? Adjust accordingly then. God I hope we don't get Mar'd

Skattebo is real easy to hate.  That fucking halfback pass was only completed because it was such a duck  The db was stride for stride with the wr, but the ball was badly underthrown towards the middle of the field.  There wasn't a way for the db to make a play on it without committing a PI.

Not sure I respect Dillingham putting Skattebo back out there w/ an obvious concussion, but hey - gotta win that game!  To be fair, Skattebo played much better after the knock, but I bet he won't remember a bit of it tomorrow.

And no questions from sideline reporting or the announcers. “Skattebo was throwing up on the sidelines”.
Yeah - weird. He wasn’t sick at all today, right? And his conditioning isn’t in question. I wonder why he was throwing up. Let’s be sure to keep him away from doctors and no one ask any questions

The douche factor of their players and coach is just way too high to go into attaboy mode after beating their smug asses.
Satisfying indeed.
This. All of this. Fuck them and their douchebag coach and RB. All their dorky fans throwing up that 3 finger sign I had to see all day in crowd shots. Winning was fun but seeing it ripped from their hearts after their miraculous comeback and one 4th and 13 from going to the semis. 3 plays later, they are now down 8. Then throw a pick and lose. Their RB crying at the end. Later bitch. The better team won.

Yeah, he was messed up.  Corch can't listen to the player in situations like that, he has to be pulled and eval'd.  Pretty shameful on Dillingham.

Refs also botched that terrible 3rd down spot that was half a yard short and still managed to get it wrong after a review.  At no point on that play was the football even close to the first down line.

There was another spot I think on the same drive where we tackled the ball carrier at like the 37 yard line and they spotted the ball at the 41. I feel like the CFP was so desperate for an upset after Boise lost they pulled out all the stops to keep ASU in the game.

occam's razor...Big10 officials wanted ASU v. Ore/tOSU and some incompetence of course.  but we kept fucking up in all phases to give them a chance to fuck with the outcome.

who were the booth refs?

They "chirped" and backed it up

Eweres got out played. Special teams got outplayed. Running backs got outplayed

Don't know who Eweres is but our qb outplayed theirs. His scrambles were aided by some blatant ignored holds and passing stats weren't close. Clutch rushing td and 3 perfect throws in OT when he absolutely had to do it were pretty damn impressive.  Their guy threw the game sealing pick in his biggest moment so you're very wrong on that point.

Skattebo is a baller. His pass should have been picked off which would have changed everything but

Watch it again. The yellow line was a almost a full yard off from where the marker actually was. It was a legit spot.

He's not going to pull his only chance to win for evaluation. Seemed like skat would come out for a play or 2 after his carries late in 4th and OT for a breather. I didn't know that he was puking and throwing shit on the sideline

It seems all season when they review a spot, the review still gets it wrong.  It's been infuriating.

I still can't get over how ASU #77 was able to pick up and pull the RB into the endzone. Obvious 5-yard penalty that could have stopped them from scoring a TD there.

As I posted in the game thread, the no call probably helped us.  If they have to settle for a FG there, we are down three points on the 4th and 13 play.  Sark would trot Bert back out there to try to tie it up.  Would you have any faith in that fucker hitting a 45 yarder to send it to a second OT?  I wouldn't.

I expect some revisionist history to come out that he was dealing with a "stomach bug"

there was a lot of "discussion" from Tessidiotore and the Bachelor that Zippitydoodah might have a conditioning issue because ASU hadn't needed him in the 4th the last few games.  yeah right, sure Superman has a "conditioning issue".  They were covering for an obvious concussion that they never even postulated could have been the problem.

I would be shocked.  The big 12 will continue to be the most balanced league decided by a series of coin flips each year.  I don't see anyone dominating it.

Can't remember the specifics but we had a similar play a couple years ago for a game clinching 1st down. I wanted to say JWhitt pulled Bijan for it but could have the players mixed up, but it definitely happened.

NFL has either changed the rule or ignores aiding the runner penalty and college is about the same

You see, the college football "analysts" don't actually watch games or know what they are talking about beyond the food quality in the booth.   But they make their money driving clicks and creating controversy as much as possible wherever they can.  So they will ignore the actual targeting, the bullshit spot/first down, the egregious holding, the illegal man downfield, sideline interference, OPI/DPI, pulling a player forwards, because it doesn't drive the point home to call B10 officials out for their fuckery, but they will instead latch on to some meaningless iffy play that was actually correctly called and try to argue about that incessantly for the next week because bullshit sells (e.g. essential oils).   Calling out officiating for being corrupt or incompetent doesn't really generate the clicks like the insinuation that an undeserving team advanced.

Note, these assholes were ready to shit all over Indiana for winning games and earning a spot, in favor of teams who lost multiple games and didn't, until those teams demonstrated why they were unworthy.  Any of those assholes want to say that Bama/SCAR should be in the CFP today?

What are Bert's stats in MBS? Can't be good.

how asu qb scrambled and ran in circles I find it hard to believe there was no holding or man downfield. it was maddening. and muhammmed lost that ball in the air cause it was a terrible throw. that's why he made no play. tell you the truth I fell better against Ohio state since I figured asu was gonna go with gimmick plays at all times. Ohio st might play a lil more straight up no worry of a bunch of trick plays. let the best man win. no more stat talk its the final four and we need 2 more baby.

we had one where our OL(can't remember which one) spun our RB around to get him to the EZ.  maybe 5 or 6 years ago?  I want to say it was during Herman years.

I’m gonna get killed for this but I really think the Skattebo hype is way overblown.

Got damn near shut down for three quarters. Passing TD on a gimmicky trick play where Muhammad looked lost. Got carried over the endzone on one of his TDs. The catch he had was legit but other than that he was pretty average

Maybe, but CFP wasn't calling y'all's bullshit offensive plays after the first 2 drives of the game either.

Texas kept ASU in the game.

Skattebo made multiple huge plays, had an undeniable stat line, and took his team from a statistical 99.9% loss chance to a statistical 91.2% win chance. Let's give credit where it's due. You don't have to like his persona, but I can't understand how anyone could objectively see what he did and not respect it. Hats off to him, and I wish our RBs ran as hard as he does.

He wasn't lost on that play. He had good coverage.  The throw was bad and the receiver had to both slowdown and run back towards the middle of the field.  Because he was in front of the receiver, he couldn't get back to the ball without running in to him.  Skattebo just chunked that shit as far as he could and it happened to be off enough that it caused a covered receiver to become open.  It was blind ass luck.

What's interesting is that there is more outrage being displayed right now on TexAgs than the Arizona fan forums.

They think we somehow bought the Big10 refs and replay officials. They also think we bought silence from the ESPN announcers, haha.

They also think we bought the officials in the SEC.

They are truly amazing.

He is pretty good, but way overhyped.  If it werent for the incompetence/fuckery he would have had and ollie gordon like performance.
