Yeah, he almost single handedly pushed our shit in VY style from the RB position.  Dude is a fierce competitor with a Spartan mentality. We would run the SEC and the CFP  if we had fractionally more of his attitude in our offensive huddle.  So no hate from me after that game.  Just envy.

Yeah lots of shit talking by bunch of pecker heads. I'd gladly take him on my team. No harm if giving him his due respect.

It's good to have some personality in football, even if the player is a douchebag. Lighten up.

Agreed... the clowning directly in front of the camera in the 4th was a bit much... but the dude earned it. That guy balled out, talked shit, and backed it up in the end.

I’m not trying to name 20 and didn’t make the comment, but the notion that Texas didn’t play numerous guys more talented than that roided up dwarf is just silly.

Michigan - Johnson, Grant and Graham are probable top 40 picks

Georgia - Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, and Malaki Starks are all top two round prospects.

Kentucky - The DT is highly graded.

ATM - Turner, Stewart and Scourton are all highly graded.

Clemson - Woods, Parker, and Carter are all highly graded guys.

That’s 13 guys without much thought.

If you want just offense, there are plenty of middle round grade guys that will go ahead of Skattebo. Loveland, Briningstool, Etienne, and Beck come immediately to mind.

The guy had grit and heart and played well once the Texas defense was worn down, but he’s not some uber-talented star the likes of which we’ve never seen.

As it stands, Texas will face 5 guys with more talent and higher NFL projections against OSU on offense next Friday. Jackson, Judkins, Henderson, Smith and Egbuka. Hell, maybe Tate as well.

You're speaking about professional potential.  The question wasn't name 20 more guys with more potential talent or better at the next level.  It was 20 guys better, as in currently, at this level.  He was 5th in the Heisman voting for a reason.  I agree he's not going in the first round with the current valuation of RBs and the absurd depth the position will have in the 2025 draft; he probably doesn't go in the top 3 rounds. However, the guy played exceptionally hard and well vs a defense set up to stop him and only got better as the game went on.  He may be roided up dwarf or he may not be set up for professional success, but he was awfully good yesterday and has the bowl MVP trophy to bolster this claim.  Yes, he was a whiny fuck, but doesn't diminish the effort.

I know it's a bit, but for fuck's sake.  "Decent"?

30/143 rushing, 4.8 ypc, 2 TDs

8/90 receiving, 12.4 ypc, 0 TDs

1/42 passing, 42 ypa, 1 TD

Just shut up.

He played hard. Whined. Got the MVP. Fuck him, he ain't playing next weekend.

Yep.  At the end of the day, he will end up being a trivia side note taking up a minute or two in a future ESPN 30-for-30 on Arch’s collegiate career or more likely on UT’s 2024-2027 National Championships and they will probably interview him, and he’ll be drooling all over himself talking about how ASU almost derailed the start of UT’s string of championships, or they will be talking about the string of concussions that led to his demise, and how it was evident in this game that there was something wrong with him.  Or he’ll be featured in a 30-for-30 about concussions, or a 30-for-30 about the lawsuits against the NCAA for implementing a height requirement of 5-foot-6 or taller.

He gave off a lot of red flags for concussions - any scouts are going to want to scour his medical records. I will be impressed if he goes in the fourth round.

The old adage of being thought a fool and then opening mouth and removing all doubt.

Texas fan calling anyone else arrogant is rich too.

I wouldn't be surprised if he runs pretty meh and the whole putting his helmet as far down to the ground as he can will need to be coached out of him..... I'm sort of with you.  4th would be someone reaching on his college production because I don't think he'll test exceptionally.  5-6th round would have been my guess and some of that is because we're in an exceptionally deep RB class, but I think he could be a weapon as a RB2 in a committee because he does a lot of things well.  Swiss army knife type of guy.  We're going to get a look at what a 2nd day RB looks like next game in Henderson and possibly Judkins.  I think we see both go before any RB we've played against this year, so they may have the most professional potential we see this year.

He had a lot of stats today, like most weeks. His coach relies on him heavily in all situations, producing those gaudy stats. He clearly gives it all, unlike many players. So, from that standpoint he deserves some accolades.

But he’s also a bit of a jerk and seems to play up the limelight a lot, so I don’t find him likable at all.

Bro, it's entertainment. He's entertaining.

I hope he gets to the league and goes f'n nuts.

The article says “all elements must be confirmed”.

The element that WR was defenseless was satisfied.

The one where the tacklers ‘purpose’ was to make contact with the helmet was not. Helmet was incidental contact during a bonafide tackle. (Probably why they call it a targeting penalty and not a helmet penalty)

Agree with the ruling but I’m simply stating the rules are separate. The crown of the helmet doesn’t have to be an element if the player is considered defenseless.

His best physical attribute may be his ability to stay on his feet long enough for his o-line to show up and push him 5 yards down the field in a 5 on 3 scrum.

Jeff Ward just declared that Scattebo is unquestionably a 1st round pick & that his NFL comp is Saquon Barkley. Puff puff pass, Jeff.

Well, when you look across the desk every day at the physical specimen that is Ed Clements, Scattebo probably does look like Saquon.

Ha.  Hey, sometimes I wish we had someone on our squad with this attribute..... Reminds me sort of Joe Morris.  Or who was that little fucker, muscle hamster.  Maybe like a Doug Martin?

The guy was a beast …

In all seriousness, he's all heart. I still don't think he would have been as effective if ASU didn't have almost triple the amount of plays from scrimmage as Texas going into the third. They shut him down almost entirely when they had lungs. But Texas has shut down a lot of great runnng backs in the last two years.

I watched Skattebo in their press conference and he's smart and all class -- a reflection of their coach. They're a tough-minded and very likeable group.

Sounds like the same thing people said about the midget, but he’s still going strong. Hard to say how he’ll do because it will depend on the team that drafts him but I can see him doing well enough to stay in for 4 years or so.

Anything is possible, I suppose.  Dude is small and slow.  Doesn't have much wiggle to his game either like a bunch of good big backs do a la Jerome Bettis.  If he does see the field, you're right, he doesn't have a long shelf life.

Yeah, that's a no from me dawg. Not likeable at all. They are constantly trying to convince people they are good with words instead of letting their play do the talking. Reminds me of the guys at work that are constantly trying to show people how smart they are. Fucking hate those guys.

in what role?

That's the real question.

I presume his goal is a simple one that many players share, which is to make an NFL team roster in any capacity. That should help him some, but his measurables will limit him with NFL programs in a way didn't with his ASU coaching staff.

If he goes undrafted? it's an easy decision by AZ to sign him as a UFA. Being a fan favorite that helps sell tix and create positive buzz can also be a role.

How do you know this? More than one person thought I was on roids in high school and while attending Texas. Never did any of that stuff. Just moved iron and ate like I do --- that would mean lots.

He is a 215lb starting running back in D1. There is about a 99% chance he takes PEDs.

That's about my only problem w/ him.  He's a Kelen Winslow attention whore.

Play the game, you don't have to give some Shakespearian performance every time you need a fucking break.

He's a hell of a fuckin' player, though. I don't give a shit what he does in the pros.  He came out and gave Texas his best shot.  He fell short but the fucker did some serious damage.
