Glad we don't have to face Gabriel again, who could have gone Superman all over us again like he did at Mobilehoma. Luckily, no one asked that ohio school to wear Longhorn jerseys, or Gabriel might've put on his cape.

We've played Howard, we know what he does, and we've beaten his dumb ass before!

We already have a jump on beating the shit outta Howard and his hill of beans.  Lulz.

This. Trust me, Texas is going to come to play. Underdog talk will only fuel them further. Add in the fact that it will be a defacto home game and the players will be juiced.

Also, an unstoppable force is going to meet an immovable object in this game. Texas has been outright dominant all year in the first half of games. Ohio State has been putting opponents away in the first half. Something has got to give there. My bet, Texas leads at halftime, and we win this game if we win the 3rd quarter.

As others have pointed out, an interesting dynamic going into this one as it is the first game all season that we’ve been a betting line underdog going in. Were we a favorite against Washington last year in the CFP? If so, the Alabama game in September of 2023 might be the last time we were an underdog. Hoping we will respond to the challenge the way we did that night, particularly the offense, where Quinn actually hit a couple of deep balls, and we ran the ball down their throats to end the game. When our running game is clicking, our whole offense is so much more consistent and supports our defense. That HAS to happen for us to have a shot in this game.

That having been said, the only defense we’ve seen comparable to this one is UGA’s and they shut our running game down, so I’m not real optimistic about this one. Jim Knowles plays the three-high look that has given Sark fits over the years, with a great DL and safeties. They also have the best passing attack we have seen by far this year, so unless they try to be stupid and prove their manhood by running at us over and over, they are going to score some points. I think they probably learned their lessons against Michigan that that approach isn’t their strength. Maybe it will help our offense to know that they can’t depend on the defense to bail them out over and over.

So heads up as the date might change if Sankey gets his way. Can't say he's wrong here given the Sugar Bowl having to delay a day. Though maybe just move the Orange Bowl to Saturday and just deal with going up against the NFL Wildcard.

Can't help but think had OUR game had a delay, we would've been told "No" and "Too bad".

Why the Hell aren't ALL the CFP games on the same day, then?

Oh, that's right! Fairness takes a back seat to maximizing TV ratings!

It's already not "fair"--- 4 CFP games over 2 days instead of having all the 4 CFP games on the same day.  Why do they care about being "fair" now??

What a load of Horseshit!

Welp at this point we suck now, so least we won’t have to worry about pats on the backs.

everywhere you look , “Texas sucks” “Texas got bailed out” , “Sark shits down his leg” “Texas can’t run the ball”

Like I’ve stated in another thread, Sark and Quinn need to muster that 2023 Bama energy when nobody thought it could happen.

I kind of like this though.  I want it to go like USC in 2005 when the talking heads started going overboard with USC being the greatest team winning simulation games against the best teams of all time including against Hannibal, Alexander the Great, the Golden Horde, WWII Japan and Nazi Germany all fronts.

Maybe Texas will hear it all, wake up and play their best game in all phases.  I like Texas being the underdog.  Take it personal without yapping about it.  Just come out and show the nation how good they really are.

I see your point but let’s be real, Texas put themselves in that position

it was 24-8 with 6 min left with the ball, and we found a way to give up 23 points in 3-4 mins. That’s a let down but give Arizona Stte credit, they capitalized. But we definitely let them into that game.

… wouldn’t this math have put ASU up 31-24 with 2 minutes left?

Cover3 podcast was talking about this game.

They said Texas is the best DL they've faced all year and the only other comparable DL was Michigan who gave them issues. Ohio State is down 2 starting OL but have been surviving because they haven't really faced a ton of talented defensive fronts.

I think our DL can create issues in this game.

Tennessee has a really good front seven too. Difference for us needs to come from the secondary.

I personally don’t put any stock in the Michigan game. Ohio State care more about sending a message than playing their best and got burned for it. They seemed to have learned their lesson.

This is a lot of anger considering a decision hasn’t been made yet. They’ll likely be told “No” and “Too bad” too. Hell, just because Sankey asked doesn’t mean it’s being considered.

I don't know if anyone is champing at the bit to know what tOSU fans are saying about this game, but I always like to visit opponents' boards to see their perspective. I know there's a lot of hate around here for all things tOSU -- not for without reason because of the 2005 UT fan experience in Columbus. The posters on this particular board don't come across as being like the Washington clowns from last year.

So, here's a link (click or don't; your decision): https://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/ohio-state-football/2025/01/152301/on-to-texas-thoughts-on-them-after-az-game

tl;dr: Overall reasonable analysis, except for a couple of blowhard asshats.

+1 for using champing correctly.

Questions for those who know about OL: is the issue(s) with the OL more scheme or execution? Seems like our RBs run sideways a ton waiting (or hoping) to find a crease. Was the ASU  DL that much better than the Clemson DL? Or did ASU just commit to stopping the run daring QE to beat them? Would love to see what our OL could do just firing forward off the snap vs. so much pulling and lateral movement. But then again, I don't know shit about fuck. Just don't understand running all over Clemson and getting shut down by ASU.

Lets go baby! Get your tickets now. it's gonna be LIT.

You need to make pin this to the top of the page so everyone can see. Kris puts out a helluva spread and the atmosphere there will be incredible. Also, you can easily get your money’s worth. Also also, good chance VY isn’t the only person there you’ll want to kick it with.

Honestly, no. I use Tapa 90% of the time and I know you find it as detestable as Bob Stoops and Lowell Galindo in a Tesla, but a lot of others use it as well. The banner also blends in when using safari to scroll the site, so just an idea. Do whatever you want, I get paid either way.

I’m just saying, the previous Lee Harvey’s and all other shindigs have always appeared as a sticky on Tapa and it’s the first thing you see front and center. This one is not presented that way for whatever reason.

I fixed it you make salient points.

Our early season jitters are out of the way now, everything is gonna come together. Sark is going to have a strategic game plan, and not kill drives with silly fancy plays that take ages to develop. Quinn is going to scan through his progressions like a Cray supercomputer, throwing laser bolts to the best open man. His pocket awareness will be Jedi-level. He will decisively use his mobility when necessary. but not in a panicked or haphazard way.  Our OL will open huge holes that our RBs will gash them with.  Blue will not fumble. Our special teams will be ready to jump all over any stupid fakes. Auburn will have calibrated his leg and fixed his hair with a Johnny Unitas cut. The defense will continue to be excellent and will pressure and disrupt their quarterback without losing containment. We will make solid tackles, limiting yards after contact,  and not give the opponent extra downs through defensive penalties.

Well now that UGA is out, that should not even be a topic.
