Pate saying he reached out to coaches on this game, and no coach picked Texas and they all think we are going to lose by double digits. We verify well could, but damn, there’s no one person out there picking Texas.

There is a ton of recency bias going around.  If this game were right after the season ended, we may very well be favored, but tOSU has looked dominant in two games against what were considered top teams and Texas eeked out a win against ASU, so everyone things that will continue.

Bobby:

While I don’t expect there will be an announcement of any sort, I am hearing that Will Stone is a very realistic possibility to take over at placekicker for Bert Auburn this week.

Stone has taken multiple reps with the first team unit on field goals during practices.

And no, that is not a common occurrence. In fact, it’s the first time that Stone has taken first team reps all year long.

Good. Auburn is mentally fucked.

At this point with Bert fucking up in two big games of last three I am fine sitting him down. Use him for <25 yd FG from middle hash if he needs a consolation.
I would have zero faith in rolling Bert out for clutch kick at this juncture so what difference does it make if Stone gets shot?

He missed 2 fgs each in the two biggest games of the season. I’m fine with benching him

Everyone counting out Texas? I like it. OSU getting hyped up is awesome. Sure they looked good against Oregon but Tennessee wasn't all that. Look at their schedule(Tennessee) and scores. The padded all their stats against weak opponents. Their defense was good, their offense was suspect. I would be shocked if OSU walked all over us. Hopefully it doesn't come down to the 3rd QTR. I think if we get on top of them early and Sark doesn't turtle we got a decent shot. We have to have a lead at halftime, preferably double digits.

They ended the season ranked #3 with their only loss to us. Legit national title capable team.

No, we lost @PSU a few weeks later (in one of the early iterations of the White Out, a night game I attended.  It was nuts.  That PSU team itself only lost once, to Mich on the last play of the game).  But your overall point stands; it was one of Tressel’s most talented teams, especially on defense.

Those LBs were some bad ass, hard hitting Mother effers.

/aggy conspiracy theory

ESIPN and UT Media bias is intentionally pumping OSU as the easy winner and feeding OSU that rat poison to motivate UT.  BOMC at it again.

Looks like snow and accumulation Thursday all day into Friday morning in DFW

Yeah, I was considering driving in Fri AM for the game from Austin.  May have to rethink my plans.

Giving a team as talented as we are the "nobody believes in us" card is honestly insane, but I'm not complaining.

They refused to play in a segregated state (players can’t stay at same hotel, etc.), so I can respect it.

What really happened is, Pedostate wanted to avoid an ass-kicking by Texas and made up some lame-ass excuse not to play. Just like fuckinaggy ran from an ass-kicking by Wake Forest in the 2021 Gator Bowl. Cowardice was the motivation in '69 and again in '21. It's a story as old as time.

If Danny Kannell didn't shit talk Texas I'd be worried.

Unsurprising, but when talking about our defense Danny made sure to emphasize that we’re REALLY lucky to have Taeffe for the first half. And proceeded to bitch and moan about the injustice of the targeting non-call.

Yeah, my point remains about Danny Kannell. Do you not see the shit he spews non stop about Texas?

Auburn must be equally shitty in practice. Like 100% cooked. Stone is getting 1st team kicking reps ahead of the semifinal game despite never having attempted a FG in 3 years.

He is 6-14 on kicks of 40+ this year. I guess at some point enough is enough, but if you're changing to a left-footed kicker, and a different holder, and to a kicker who I have to assume isn't as good as Auburn anyway.... Think I might prefer hoping Auburn snaps out of it. And don't attempt a FG over 35 yards.

I'm worried about the kicking game, especially in a game that could be close and decided by a kick, and I'm worried about Muhammad on Egbuka.  Muhammad got picked on against Arizona St.  Other that that, I like the matchups everywhere else.

We haven't played a complete game all season, IMO.  We suck in the 3rd quarter. Stupid, untimely penalties. We have the talent at every position to beat anyone.  Our issues appear to be mental/coaching. I think the underdog role and no one giving us a chance helps with this.  If we put it all together, we'll win.

Just to play devil's advocate with myself.... Let's say the game is tied with two seconds remaining. And we're on the 30 yard line. You're obviously kicking here, and you are obviously not letting Bert Auburn do it. So, Will Stone time, I guess.
