Everyone saying we need to toss it around against tOSU is insane. That’s the exact opposite of what Michigan did. Michigan attacked their weakness all game until they wore them out at the end.

And it was written.  Quinn slings it at least 45 times and Juan Davis doesn’t see the field.  Shootout victory.

Couple things here

1. Take Orji out of the equation and Michigan ran it 39 times for 140 yards. That is 3.6 and that was boosted by a big late run. Sark will never be that patient with the run and no fvckin way will Surly be that patient.

2. Game play was a major reason for that. Ryan Day went full retard in that game. He went out to try to end the all the talk that OSU isnt as physical as Michigan. Inside Zone after Inside Zone. OSU is not going to be that stupid again.

You do not want to follow Michigan’s offensive gameplan - they had one scoring drive for 3 points.  The other two scoring “drives” came off our turnovers and totaled 2 yards.

If you can replicate their defensive success, then yes, by all means

Hopefully all the disrespect motivates the team to do something they haven’t done much this season, play a complete game. Clean up the penalties. Clean up the turnovers. Special teams have to show up. It’d be nice if we connect on a couple deep shots. It’s kind of insane to expect that they’d turn it on against the best opponent they’ve played all year. That’s what I’m choosing to believe though. We can’t lose, we got to stay alive.

It feels like Nebraska '96 and USC 2005 all over again.

As long as it's not Miami 1990. But this is a different Texas team than that one. They absolutely belong on the field with this Ohio State team, regardless.

I feel like the “expert” consensus is not reflected in the majority of the OSU fan base.  No idea what the team is thinking but hopefully they’re locked in.

The last time we were so heavily favored in a championship setting was against Florida in 2006, and whoops on that one.  But there we had a month to soak in our win in the “Game of the Century” and get fat, lazy, and complacent.

Meanwhile, in 2014 we were +/- 7 pt underdogs to both Bama and Oregon, pretty much the position you’re in now, and we know how that went.

I know it’s the end of the season so it probably doesn’t make much sense but is there any chance or has it been discussed that maybe our play calling sucked so bad last week because Sark expected to roll over ASU and not show anything for the one of our next two opponents and maybe we’re finally gonna get a open playbook

Just know that whatever Helobious says, the rest of us generally think the exact opposite.

Also feels like Nebraska 1998, Nebraska 1999, Nebraska 2002, Nebraska 2006, Nebraska 2007, and most of all……Nebraska 2010.  Those sorry bastards!

Part of me (the child in me prob)  is believing this.  But the wiser part of me says we've been saying that since the Vandy game and not much has changed.

But Day somehow installed a new running scheme for the playoff.. who is to say Sark doesn't have more out there he's been holding back on?

You'd be amazed at how little I care about Ohio State football.

As far as I'm concerned college football wasn't even played from 2010 to 2022 other than the 2018 season. And that one was like enjoying a mirage.

Since you're not a Texas fan you have no idea really what I'm talking about. But no one gave Texas a chance in 96 against Nebraska, and more surprisingly, USC was practically crowned the champion prior to the game after the 2005 season. That one made no sense to me. I at least understand why everyone is picking Ohio State in this game. I just know Texas is an extremely talented team, and if they put it together Ohio State could be the ones wondering what truck just hit them the same way Tennessee and Oregon felt after their games with the Buckeyes. Especially Ewers. If the Ewers from the Alabama or Michigan game shows up, it could spell real trouble for Ohio State.

I have a feeling we’ll see Quinn at his best today. Wouldn’t be surprised if he uses his feet more and breaks off a couple of big scrambles. If we get the Quinn that showed up in The Big House, we win by two possessions.

So that means Stone has quit the team and Texas is taking whoever makes the “Mcafee kick” from the gameday crowd.

Yeah, it seems like if the betting is as one sided as that little snapshot makes it out to be, Vegas will be rooting for Texas.

My only thing is that I don't think that twitter pic is reflective of the actual betting, otherwise we would have seen the line move in the other direction.

I mean, technically speaking, doesn't Stone always get the start since he handles kick offs?

My wife (no pics) is a former Rangerette. There are -760 Rangerettes performing tonight. She has been there since 12pm today so definitely a long day for her and rest of the ladies

Will be cool. There is a 94 year old who performed 75 years ago that will be there tonight (I think Armybrat’s great grandson may have dated her).

Not that any of yall need a reason to be in seats early but this is a pretty good reason.

Oh I remember that 2005 game vs USC. I had no affiliation w TX at the time (other than having lost to them earlier that year) but the whole CFB world was sick of that USC lovefest heading into the game.  I did joyful laps around my living room after Young scored to win.  I suppose it’s good evidence that tribal hatred is a major driving force for CFB fandom 🙂

You are right about Quinn - when he's on his game he’s the best QB in the CFP field.  OSU needs to pressure him into mistakes or he’ll win the game for you.  Playing against his old school has to be added motivation.  My biggest worry is your DL against our OL.  You come out blazing there and it will be a very tough game for us.

I was thinking this is our biggest Cotton Bowl game since...that one.

Couldn't go much worse than that one.

Not even sure why we are playing this game. Just forfeit and let Ohio State rest for ND... I just posted Skip because he's easy to pile on but the below is the general consensus around the country, fans and media. Is it because Texas needed a prayer to beat ASU, while Ohio St cruised to 2 easy victories, one being against the #1 team? Maybe.

Just have to stop the counter with 6 men in the box and take away the 1st read for Howard. Not sure he has been forced to go to his second read in these playoffs. Do that and you give Simmons a chance to hit Howard. Ryan Day does not usually make a many in-game adjustments. He may be the Texas MVP of this game, if Texas takes away the counter.

Quinn has to hit passes outside the hashes. OSU pass defense is built to take away the middle of the field. CBs are the weakest part of the OSU defense. OZ is likely dead in this one. The Edges are NFL guys and they usually stack a LB over them. The caveat is Banks and Williams might be able to move them 1 on 1. Sark needs to have a pivot from OZ.

Ha, joke is on OSU. We mostly ignore the middle of the field anyway.
