I set a goal in 2010 to run 1000 miles. I made it like on Dec 27 or so, but I pushed through some nagging injuries along the way and honestly my knees never fully recovered. Moral of the story is listen to your body and don’t be a slave to the goal.

I had a couple of years in my 40s where I ran at least 2 miles every day of the year.  I needed that kind of thing to make me run, but it was still pretty stupid.  The first time, my legs just hurt like hell by about March and I kept going through it.   Also had several days where I ran at midnight and ran during a really bad 6am thunderstorm in Omaha on the first day of the CWS.

I hate math, but I know that 10/day is 3,650 (confirmed this is not a leap year). I encourage Imma, because this is an awesome goal; BUT the average started at 55.5, and has already crept up to 56.3 to reach the goal. and 10 a day keeps pushing it higher.

Do you plan to finish the year doing 200/day in December? Before I tell you this isn't attainable, can I ask when you think you will do 50 in a day?

You got this, Imma!

I do 100 pushups minimum every day - usually 2 sets of 50. But a few days a week, I will do 200 - usually in sets of 70, 60, 40, and 30. I have done 100 at a time but prefer the lower number sets. I focus on form so never had any issue with my shoulders. And yeah, I do pull ups and other upper body weight work as well but I find that push ups are a really great overall upper body and core exercise.

so you can't really get to doing 100 pushups by just doing it, you have to set them out, so when I get to 15ish pushups solo I'll add a second set of 5 for a while till I get to 25/5 then do 25/10 then 30/10 then 30/15 then 45/15 then 45/20 then 50/20 then 50/25 then add a third set and do it that way. You can't just endurance train by being a psycho and blasting out as many as you can.

Because of that this becomes relatively easy from a goal perspective and chasing 100 pushups in a single go is the buildup. If I get to 50/25 by July 1 that's 13500 and if I averaged 35 (25 + 10) till July 1 that's 6300, that alone gets me the goal without even continuing after the 100 which I'll be upping the sets every 3 weeks or so by 5.

If it takes longer to work my way up to those numbers I've got plenty of padding.

I did 3 pull ups today and it was enough.  I pulled up to Shipley's for breakfast, pulled up to DQ for lunch, and finally pulled up for a Snickers ice cream at the convenience store on the way home.

Lmfao.

I did 10 last night and 10 this morning. Feeling pretty good. About not missing a day yet.

20215 left.

Will probably bump up to 11 for the next 3 days after week 1 then 12 etc till I feel comfortable doing 15. Then I'll stay there for a week or so then push to 20. Same. Once I get to 25 in a row I'm gonna add a second set of 5 or 10.
