@Hank Kingsley

my participation on this thread has not been serious heretofore (though i have thought about a threesome with blake and amber before and i do have a velvet tux now) but having actually read a couple of posts, it seems like you have really spent a lot of time with this. I don't question your enthusiasm for the issue but for someone like me ready to jump in and make a judgment on who should live and who should die in this situation, I have noticed that you have been pretty emphatic in the last few pages that the most recent evidence on this has pretty clearly painted blake as the aggressor and abuser that stands in the wrong and that baldoni is somewhat vindicated.

i am not disputing said conclusion at all but, while i acknowledge i may have completely just missed it in my review of the thread, i can only recall you making reference to said evidence but haven't shared it. can you point me to what you are relying on to reach such emphatic conclusions? i fear if i go looking for it myself, i will be exposed to a bunch of nonsense before inevitably finding my way to the blake nudes she sent to affleck during "the town."

The starting point is Baldoni's lawsuit: https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/baldoni-v-reynolds-lively.pdf

But it's 179 pages. Filled with texts that provide context and the general picture. If you'd rather watch a 2 hour video of two smart girls discussing it,  here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oazdIT4pzEk  These young ladies initially supported Lively after her accusations were released, but have done a 180.

The kind of calculating, detail oriented person she comes across as casts the Plantation story in a totally new light.

There's a zero percent chance she didn't research her own fucking wedding venue.

this part...good for them, seriously. yes, this is in essence a trivial pop culture issue but kudos to any person in general nowadays that has the critical thinking and mental capacity to actually change their opinion in the face of facts and evidence.

"We're ashamed that in the past we've allowed ourselves to be uninformed about how deeply rooted systemic racism is," the couple wrote on Instagram "We want to educate ourselves about other people's experiences and talk to our kids about everything, all of it ... especially our own complicity."

Why do you rich fucking white people insist on seeing every socio-political conflict through the myopic lens of your own self-actualization?   This isn't about you.  So either get with it, or get out of the fucking way    -Socko

The pr firm that Baldoni/Depp use is flooding the zone with YouTube videos and dragging up old stories and even tapping Owens now that they were exposed.

The only real interesting thing about this case in my opinion. Seeing the mechanics of the information wars laid bare, only instead of politics its just rich egomaniacs

There have been a lot of momentum swings in this PR battle. I am still waiting for all the evidence to come out but so far I'm pretty comfortable saying that Lively is not a good person. Whether she was a victim, I don't yet know.

Is there some proof of this?

There's proof that Baldoni hired that firm as a proactive measure back in 2024, but I don't know if they're still involved or responsible for the current wave of PR. Melissa Nathan (PR firm) is part of his lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds though so I would assume they're still on good terms with one another.

Yeah, I knew this.

But is the insinuation that Baldoni's PR firm is paying off YouTubers w/ podcasts discussing the case in his favor?

It's hard to know what's being amplified by Nathan and what's organic at this point. I'd imagine both sides are capable of almost anything that's been done before.

Lively's camp claims that Baldoni amplified the bad press she was getting this past summer before the movie came out. The problem for Lively is the hate was organically created by book fans that were pissed about how she was acting during press junkets and the overall marketing of the film. I've never read the book, but domestic violence is a key subject, and she was marketing it like a summer rom-com and was flippant about the serious issues in the book/film.

In short, Blake was pissed people were hating on her for her own thoughts and actions, and looked to blame someone else for her self-inflicted fuckups.

Pretty much. This stuff gets in people's head's and they go out and start producing their own content on their own. Its a force multiplier

Yeah this is the part of her narrative that never made sense to me. I've yet to come across any false stories about her being a shitty person. A good PR firm will actively seek out the organic negative comments and videos and then find ways to shine a spotlight on them, find ways to get the algorithms to pick them up, and just get people talking about whatever that thing is that the target doesn't want people talking about.

Maybe you remember a few months ago there was an indictment of foreign actors who were paying YouTubers (Tim Pool being one of the biggest ones) without their knowledge, basically as a reward for having the anti-Ukraine or anti-woke opinions that the foreign actors wanted to boost. That's what I believe people like Melissa Nathan are paid to do. They go to forums and comment sections and find the actual people who are already aligned with or telling the narrative they want told, and then they use money and other tools to get those actual people's posts and comments to be seen by more people and more influencers with the hope that the chosen narrative goes viral. At the same time they're using techniques to bury anything that doesn't align with the chosen narrative.

If they went around spreading made-up stories about Lively (for example, a made-up story about how she was unfaithful) then I would completely understand filing a lawsuit. But true stories that aren't violating her privacy? I'm sorry but as a professional and as a celebrity, that's always been fair game. You reap what you sow, and if you're a terror on the set or to waiters or to the "little people" in your life, I don't have a shred of sympathy for you when people find out about it. (James Corden and Ellen Degeneres both come to mind).

On the flip side, we're being told Baldoni did seriously unprofessional and creepy shit. But instead of coming from multiple sources, it sure seems like we basically need to take Lively's word for it. I think Johnny Depp has a lot of demons and is definitely not a good person nor someone deserving of sympathy or praise, but he was smart to hire a good PR firm. Should I assume Baldoni is as fucked up as Depp just because he also felt like he needed a strong PR team? Nah, I won't do that.

They're scummy, hired guns, but what else could he do when he was dealing with that kind of clout being weaponized against him at a time when he thought his directorial career should be taking off? If Lively can prove he's a sex pest in a court of law, he deserves to lose. But if not, I hope he wins a big award.

Your assumption that Johnny Depp is not a good person is shaped by the false allegations that Amber Heard presented about him in her Washington Post op-ed. The civil trial ruled in Depp’s favor saying Heard’s claims had no merit and caused serious damage to Depp’s reputation. Prior to Heard’s abuse allegations, had you ever considered Depp to be a shitty person?

The NYT article supported by Blake Lively about Justin Baldoni seeks to damage Baldoni’s reputation the same way. Baldoni was dropped from WME as a client and his production company Wayfarer was blacklisted from the industry. As with Depp, Baldoni wants this thing to go to court because he thinks he has the receipts to win this case.

And the fact that Baldoni hired the same PR firm as Depp should be irrelevant if Blake Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane used to also work for Harvey Weinstein.

This is a pretty big assumption.

I've never read a word of the piece you reference. I'm just aware that Depp is a 60 year crackhead publicly feuding with his 20 something year old ex. Both sides appear to be under the commonly held misconception talking shit about your ex makes you look good

Yeah. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence outside of the Heard affair that Depp is a bad guy. Alcoholic, drug abuser, financially irresponsible and a reputation of being difficult to work with in the industry.

All believable but zero stories of being violent (that I have Heard). Woman beater is a different level than being a pompous ass.

Not true. I saw a commercial with him, and it really speaks to me.

As a matter of fact, I wear Sauvage, or nothing at all.

Amber Heard’s Washington Post op-ed was titled “I spoke up about sexual violence - and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

Heard didn’t directly name Depp in the article but it was pretty clear who she was referring to.

Depp obviously has his issues but being abusive towards women hasn’t been an issue throughout his entire career until Amber Heard came along.

This stuff is what I meant. Just generally known for being a belligerent drunk. Maybe he never laid hands on Amber Heard, but I'd have a hard time believing he never raised his voice or broke things around her.

we know he did bc she secretly recorded him raising his voice, breaking things, etc...her problem was those same recordings also had her on them, screaming at him, taunting and egging him on. that's why she lost...not bc he came off as innocent but bc she came off as equally complicit and doing her best to try and enrage/provoke him.

Is this about Heard/Depp or Randi and Chris Beard?

Now TikTokers are finding evidence that the NYT writers were colluding with Lively. They were creating images for their eventual article 5 days before Lively even filed her initial complaint. Baldoni's legal team has already provided evidence that the NYT edited texts they displayed in said article. I see a settlement and a fat check heading his way.
