What the hell? It's January 8th. That's like pumpkin beers in July.

Their description:  Saint Arnold - Spring Bock

Spring Bock

An authentic, copper colored, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This big, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor.

6.9% ABV | 24 IBU

My take: Thumbs up

Spring bock is an always buy.

My favorite of their seasonal offerings.

1st time I tried it and I have to agree it is quite good. Also a fan of their regular Amber Ale. Have not tried their Octoberfest yet.

I like to pick up singles when offered at HEB. Great way to try without buying a whole pack and as far as I can tell, they don't charge a premium for the single. That Doppelbock I posted above was very good. May have to circle back and get some more. Likewise with the Samuel Smith Oatmeal & Imperial Stouts. One seasonal I really like this time of year is Samuel Adams Winter Lager. I like it better than their Octoberfest. But it's not always available, and when it is, it's often in a 12-pack which is more than I care to get.

Ha, though I remember fondly the days of chasing whales and trading across country with the likes of you and @patrickdrinksbeer. I couldn't imagine having the desire or ambition to do any of that shit now.  Some of the seasonally released beers that I used to camp out and shop around to find now sit on the shelves for months.

I still enjoy a good brew, and look forward to a couple readily available seasonals, but these days I pretty much stick to a couple locals and call it good.

100% where I'm at.  6-7 years ago I was trading TG for Russian River with @AnotherUTFan and going to beer releases or going out of my way to swing into beer bars, liquor stores, etc to find some kind of whale or gem.

I pretty quickly and suddenly just lost interest in all of that shit.  Plus I found a lot of the people who were super into that stuff to be relatively off putting.  At least the ones that would descend on Decorah for big events.

I get to my local breweries a couple times a month (if I'm lucky), drink the local beer when I'm traveling, but that's the extent of the effort I'm willing to go to.

A Voodoo Brewing Co. outpost just opened near me in the nondescriptest of nondescript strip malls in the north ATL burbs.  I predict it will be done by summer.  I'll try to remember the "RIP" post.

They are working on one here just south of Frisco too.  I'll give it a try but expectations are low.

Gordon Biersch was good.  They beers were solid and food was really good.
