Fuck. Yes.

I don't care how cold it is. I'll let my nipples get hard for this game. I'll be the guy that looks like the kid from A Christmas Story.

This may be a really dumbass yank question, but when they heard there was going to be a chance of snow, why wouldn't they drive down some salt trucks from somewhere and pre-salt the roads? I understand most of the country is getting pounded but $$$$$$ makes the world go round, would have though Jerrah would have at least gotten a few to clear out everything close to the stadium.

Arlington hosted a Super Bowl a while back, and the area was all iced up and no special measures taken. Doubt they do it for even a CFp semifinal

Yep. Current forecast doesn't show any temps below 32 degrees. I think the roads are going to be fine. Only concern *might* be overpasses, but it doesn't really seem like it'll be an issue.

If there’s 1/4” of snow on the roads on Friday, the Ohioans will be the only ones who won’t wreck their cars on the drive to the stadium.  😀

This born-and-bred Texan made it just fine when I drove through NE Ohio after Thanksgiving without incident. I did, however, see several cars with Ohio plates stuck in piles of snow on the side of the interstate. So there!

Gospel!  Saw the same scene in Colorado years ago, locals in the ditch Texans doing fine.

I made it from Sacramento to Reno in a snow storm in 93 or 94 that made the national news on CNN as being one of the worst in 30 years. The picture below resembles things when it still looked decent. I was the only car on the road for a very long time. I had never driven in snow before that day and I used Walmart $10 dollar chains on the rental car.

In Austin?  Because it's been in the 20s and 30s in north and northeast Texas for the last several nights.  I'd love to see a forecast that shows it to be smooth sailing along I20 from Tyler to Arlington.  I'm holding out hope.  But it's not supposed to get above freezing here until 11 on Friday.  Give a brother some hope!  I've got a tentative kitchen pass to make a solo trip if it doesn't look like I'm going to drive into a ditch.

/difficulty = No AWD.

Friends were flying into DAL tmrw and just got canceled. Most changed to ATX arrival and driving up from there. I'm driving up from Houston area on Friday AM.  My 4runner has been through Smokey Mts and Rocky Mts in snow...DAL seems doable.  Yall be safe.

Shit, I asked the Amtrak app for Jan 10th and it didn't bother to tell me there was nothing on Jan 10th.
Instead, it just fed me Jan 17th and I didn't notice.  Stupid software.

Looks like Jan 10th is cancelled.

Initial snow predictions for the Panhandle were 4-5 inches, then 2 inches, then 1.

We got zero last night, from the system headed down there.

Granted there is more moisture in the air down that way; but it's gonna hardly be the slickarena folks were fearing.

Tangentially related to bowl travel.

Winter storms should be named after Surly posters; You never know many inches your getting and how long it's gonna last.

Safe travels.
