Was on Tollway moving from Mockingbird to Forest just now. Minimal traffic, but I fishtailed a few times. It’s not that bad, and is more snow than sleet, but it ain’t great.

Didn’t realize the DNT was now a runway at DFW.

Yeah, but we had a little freezing rain before the snow. Not a good combination.

Be safe

So I haven't been paying attention because I'm not traveling to DFW, but now I have a family member making noise about a "last minute trip."  What is the reality of traveling from Austin...today vs. tomorrow, and what is the realistic expectation of moving around DFW tomorrow?

Definitely would not do it today at this point.  Tomorrow later is going to be better but of course every person traveling tomorrow is going to realize that so traffic is going to suck.

Assuming you're in Austin, leave about 10 am tomorrow and you should be fine.

That one deicing pumper they have is getting a workout.  Wonder if DAL even has one.

If that picture is from this area that would be at Love Field (DAL) as that's the only place Southwest flies out of.

Just checked and 2 flights from Columbus have been cancelled and 2 delayed. Flights from Cincy/Pitt cancelled and several from Detroit and Cleveland cancelled. That's a shame.

Then there's the OSU fans who went to Miami because they misunderstood the bracket.

Which team does your kid play for? Another way of asking that question is, which team did Prestonwood North blow out last night? harharhar

Must of lost

Must have lost, and no, we didn’t. Won 88-16. We haven’t had a close middle school contest since 7th grade football and certainly haven’t lost. Now, we went down to Duncanville last weekend for some AAU, and well, different story.

My local booze vendor said all his deliveries from Dallas have been canceled.

If the pros won't risk it I won't either.

So now there’s going to be a booze shortage? Not good.

Glad I’ll be driving in tomorrow afternoon from Tyler. I’ll probably just stay on I20 until I hit 360 then head north until I30. I imagine that’ll be around 2:30 PM so everything should be pretty thawed out by then and just dealing with water on the roads, no?

No idea, just what he told me. Not trying to piss on the party. I'm sure if it's good tomorrow they'll roll. This new distributor has been pretty shitty since they bought out the last one.

Where's @phdhorn when we really need him.l because I don't know shit about fuck.

Roads are going to be shit in Dallas early tomorrow.   It won't all just magically disappear when precipitation stops.  Seems like latest guesses are bullish for decent amount of snow in metroplex overnight.  If I were coming from Austin I wouldn't plan on arriving in metroplex before noon at earliest.

Yep tomorrow will be worse than today. A lot of this could freeze tonight. It didn't start accumulating this morning until around 8am. It also looks like it won't be as warm tomorrow as once thought earlier in the week. I don't see any or much sun for tomorrow.

Neither do I. I would have said "Travel Wednesday, don't travel Thursday, travel Friday." That's what I would have said if I'd have said it.

By Friday 10 a.m. or so it'll be a nothingburger, or next to it, especially the roads to Six Flags or wherever the hell they're playing it.

See you next weather crisis.

Looks like pretty much all flights from DIA to DFW before game time are cancelled now (American last to fall). A bit down about it, but it is what it is. I imagine supply is going to go up on tickets for those looking last minute.

The drive would only take me 15 hours right now from Denver

Fuck it up tomorrow y’all.

I'm at the hotel. It's cold as fuck outside. Snow piled up everywhere. They definitely did a good job of clearing the roads today, but they are going to have to do it again overnight. And tomorrow. I didn't drive all this way just to watch it at the lobby bar with Karen from Southlake.

I mean, you're at least guaranteed a restroom handy in that scenario.

Godspeed to everyone venturing to the game. Setting up to be a crazy physical setting and matchup. Let's gooooooo! Hookem!

Ha! I have done that drive many many times. If you managed to come south on 25 through the northeast corner of new mexico that whole damn state is an ice sheet at times like this. And if you went east through oklahoma you would never get past the vortex of OU sucking.

Daughter and son-in-law are on the way taking the same route you took.  Appreciated your updates and have passed them on.

Been tracking flights between United, American and Southwest for tomorrow the past couple days. The flights all fell off from being options for tomorrow without a sharp price increase. I don’t believe they sold out. They would have raised the last ticket on the plane to something dumb like $1K but it was $330 and then poof all options gone. Southwest has them marked as unavailable until a 550P arrival in big D.

Ya that’s where I’m at. Waiving the white flag. Hoping we win so I can exercise my CFP-rsvp’s.
