Literally look at Tom Herman’s classes that he signed. There’s plenty of NFL dudes

I'm sure you're right. But to blame the lack of success on Sam is just wrong. Tom Herman sucked, which is why he no longer coaches here or anywhere. Triggered.

No it was Sam

He had very untimely turnovers that a lot of you have allowed time to forget while blaming the still shitty coach

Sam had 30 turnovers (27 ints, 3 fumbles) in 2030 touches (1476 attempts and 554 rushing attempts)

Quinn had 31 turnovers (24int, 7 fumbles) in 877 touches (737 pass att and 140 rushing att)

Fuck me, I didnt realize Quinn had that many turnovers. Winning is a hell of a drug.

Quinn was pretty sold in that department until this year.

2022- 320 touches 7 turnovers. 1 per 45.7 touches

2023- 453 touches 7 turnovers. 1 per 64.7

2024- 502 touches 17 turnovers. 1 per 29.5

not doing the work, but guessing Quinn went from one of the best at taking care of the ball in 2023 to one of the worst in 2024

Sam is fucking underrated. So is/was Colt

Colt was the best qb in school history

Vince was the best player

Two completely different players that we were fortunate enough to experience back to back.  If you could clone either team and swap out JUST the QB with Vince or Colt, which team would you rather not face?  Choice seems easy to me.

Running game made all the difference.  When QE has a solid running game to take the pressure off him, he's much more collected in the pocket (as are most QB's).

Fixed for you.

Untimely. Quinn turned the ball over a lot this year. Sam consistently did and had a whopping 3.4 YPC avg. I’ll take Quinn since he’s a winner, did something out of his highly recruited teammates and didn’t spend half the time wishing he was a cheerleader for the cameras.

Sam said we’re back, Quinn brought us back.

had multiple turnovers vs A&M with the OL dominating. He was just more mistake prone this year

this is nuts. You going after Sam's rushing average, while Quinn finished with -59 yards for his career?

my bad I added up completion and not attempts. Read the wrong column

Still 30 turnovers in 2030 touches vs 31 in 1275

No you’re nuts for shorting Quinn by 400 attempts cause you were busy looking at a different column. I am going after Sam’s rushing career cause he was hardly automatic, had the single slowest reverse spin the game has ever seen, and started the Texas is Back meme thinking he was doing some cute VY callback

Sam had the drunk evading the cops moves. It used to make me laugh, but he was effective. He was a killer in short yardage.

Sam was a loser with much less competition to deal with and had his pick of recruiting classes to go head to head against OU. He won once and we got to see the rest of the big 12 “improve” on their way to beating him every year.

This is dumb. 1st calling Sam a loser, put you straight in douchebag territory. The OU stuff makes me laugh.

Sam went 1-3 vs OU. Those were 3 12 win teams (9-2 in the covid year). Lost a game when he put up 45 pts. In those 4 years OU lost a combined 8 games.

Quinn is 2-1 vs OU. Those 2 wins came against OU teams that had losing records.

and here is my post

Sam didn't inspire his teammates to achieve greatness. He failed to deliver for the coaches. He looked for the cameras and did his best baby Tebow impression to show his heart. He's a starting QB with major walk on energy wanting to fire people up for the Fourth Quarter.

This is pretty uncalled for man. Elingher had 4x the heart Ewers did. To say he just showed up for the cameras is a pretty fucked up take.

No he didn’t. Ewers not showing emotions has befuddled the rubes for awhile now

Switch the places of Elingher and Ewers with their respective teams and tell me with a straight face that Ewers survives past a single season at Texas. Dude wouldve been broken in half behind Elingher's O-Line. Elingher couldve gotten a yard against Ohio State from the 1.

Amazing the debate ongoing here. Put me in the camp of being a fan of Ehlinger and what he did with what we had, but I don’t think we go 13-3 this year with Ehlinger at QB. I don’t think we’re in a position to allow Bam Ban Sam to do his thing for 1 yard against OSU.

I feel we’re discounting Quinn’s accuracy and touch in the short and intermediate. While I’ve only been watching UT football since around 1995 at 9, Quinn’s touch on short and intermediate may be the best we’ve had in my watching lifetime. I don’t recall Colt’s ability to throw over defenders in that 8-20 yard range being as elite, but his accuracy was the best I’ve seen in short and intermediate at the end of his career.

I will say knowing that I’ll get shit for this, with Colt I felt he missed more downfield throws than I remember any other QB, in that he didn’t try and opted for the short pass. Countless upon countless times we could have attacked downfield in a 1-1 with the WR with a step or two and we opted for the more sure thing. It worked for him, but I remember as a college kid wondering why he didn't take more shots. After watching his NFL career, it became more clear, but we don’t give Colt the same kind of shit we do Quinn for lack of execution deep because Colt was otherwise great, a gamer, didn’t have the incompletions to show for failed downfield attempts and we won a lot.

In light of his post-playing career, I buy the first accusation but always thought his teammates loved him.

Major tried, sometimes successfully, to bang his teammates' girlfriends. I mean, sure, if there's no ring on it in a general context, then who gives a fuck. If it's one of your teammates...that's different in my opinion.

Helps to not have 2 freshmen WR’s that don’t understand the offense.  Worthy/Mitchell both score on 3rd down against Ohio St even with Majors fucking the block.
