Massey has NDSU favored: https://masseyratings.com/cf2024/5545

https://masseyratings.com/cf2024/5042

I don't have much to say about the game, but I would like to ask what in the blue fuck the NCAA is doing with these lower division championships?

D2 was played several weeks ago, D3 was played last night on a fucking Sunday with the NFL going on, and now the FCS is on a Monday night.

Dear NCAA,

Please get your shit together and name a football commissioner to integrate these playoffs schedules.  Hell, I've been spouting the blueprint for years:

1.  Have all 3 championships at the same site on the weekend before Christmas.   They're all in Texas now anyways.

  a.  Friday night, D3.

  b. Saturday afternoon, D2.

  c. Saturday night, FCS.

2.  Charge $70 for a weekend pass.

3.  Make it an NCAA football festival.

4.  Profit.

Sincerely,

Beau

2024 Payton award(fcs heisman) Tommy melott QB for MSU has been knocked out by NDSU twice. Few years ago he was injured in the championship and ndsu won, last year a bad ndsu team by ndsu standards went into Bozeman and beat him in his own field

MSU coach Vigen went to ndsu and coached there, grew up in ND, followed bohl to Wyoming this is the 4th straight Dakota/Montana championship that features a school from a Dakota and/or Montana in it. Shows how watered down fcs has gotten with GSU/App st/JMU etc moving up

Since 1965, NDSU has won 8 D2 and 9 FCS nattys.  That’s 28% of the time.

I do not understand how or why schools from North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana now dominate FCS to such an absurd degree.

I’m guessing they have more money for coaches, facilities, etc.  By FCS standards they have a huge following.  They’re all ag schools (but not closet homos like Aggy) and that helps their following. And being 1-2 States away from a FBS or NFL program is good too.

And they’ve done real well hiring coaches.

Take a look at these schools’ rosters especially along the lines.  They recruit heavily from their home states and neighboring states/upper Midwest.  They are stocked with a lot of corn-fed beef of the phenotype below, from states that have very few FBS schools.  They would be getting FBS offers if they weren’t playing in little towns on the prairie or tundra, especially now that so many southern FCS schools jumped up.

Lotsa guys who played 9 man HS FB.  At least one occasion their entire starting OL came from 9 man.

Yep, and not a lot of FBS coaches are going to sign a player from 8 or 9 man, especially at FBS schools that are a better place to play than NDSU or SDSU.  But plenty of guys who could easily play at that level.

i saw that when it happened - i thought he wanted to get off camera so he could see the play that was about to snap

Nebraska in its prime, were head and shoulders above the rest of the upper Midwest

The Montana State defensive coordinator should be fired at halftime.  That was the dumbest shit you’ll ever see.

The NDSU coaches are clearly a level above

that was an amazing 60 second drive  also a stone cold big boy catch on 2nd down and goal

The last two plays were good, but the only thing amazing was that MSt played 5 and 6 DB’s all 15 yards off the ball backpedaling.  They gave them everything underneath including easy qb scrambles.  No pressure, easy routes down the field. Let them have all of it.  Just a brain dead strategy.

And the coach that started this run 20 years was a coordinator at Nebraska.  Craig Bohl

turns out these refs are as blind as the ones in the peach bowl... massive hold by the RB literally twirls around a NDS lineman and they dont call holding on that... but on the same play call holding on the defense.
