2025 Orange Bowl - Notre Dame vs. Penn State

Turning around for the ball is not required in college. You can face guard.  You just cannot impede the receiver.
They say it all the fucking time though, " He didn't look for the ball..."
It doesn't fucking matter where the defender is looking in college.

Hell, he wound up being turned around some by then.

First one was not one I'd spend energy arguing over with the refs or a PSU fan.  Perhaps that ass QB saw the flag being thrown and knew he had a free shot.  It was a fucking terrible and under-thrown ball which is why it was picked so easy.

I mean, maybe just admit it was clearly a penalty instead liking posts that claim it’s a bad call.

He barely breathed on the guy.  That is NEVER called in today's game.  And it had absolutely no impact on the play.  The only real contact was with the arm and that was pretty incidental.  That should have been a TO and no Penn St. TD.

I thought it looked a lot more like PI live than it did on slo-mo.

Eh, Nitters rolls off the tongue much easier. I’ve never, in my life, used the one that people may want to think I mean so I’m not worried about that.

Nittany + NAMBLA = Nambly

I got a bad delete on our Rivals board for posting that I didn't know James Franklin identified as black until told, same with Kamala Harris.

Was a single offensive hold called in last night's game?

Not that I saw.

The more frustrating thing was "letting the boys play" until Penn State needed a boost.

Don't change the fucking strike zone in the middle of the game.

Think Abdul Carter got held on every play.

I guess you can say the refs never called holding on the lines. They discovered it in the secondary at key moments for PSU.  I believe 10 of their points came after nullifying two Irish interceptions by DPI/Defensive Holding.

PSU also got flagged for DPI but it was on 1st and 10 at the Nitts 16.

that was a terrible call also. That could have been called OPI. I thought refs were fine. They were shitty, but shitty to both teams. Never called a hold on either team, that probably helped ND more. #11 probably has scratch marks all over him from ND OL.

Freeman not giving Love the rock til that leg fell off was very perplexing too. Or ND going with pussy runs as opposed to the down hill bruising style right out of half was head scratching.

I'd take a fullback leading Love, Price, and Leonard.  Heck that's a very talented wishbone.

I'm in the minority in that I think NDs defensive package could cause issues for our offense. I think Texas would have matched up better with PSU. Neither of them matches up well against Ohio State. Football is about match ups. OSU and Texas match up pretty well against ND and better against PSU.

So that and throwing on the burnt orange glasses = blow out

But I'm a raging pussy so..

Our defensive injuries have all been to the front seven while the secondary has been mostly okay. Only SC was able to put up Gotti passing stats, and the Trojans came up dry with two fourth quarter pick 6s.  So I guess I'm more worried about Ohio State which appears to have switched to a power running attack.

The ball was intercepted before it arrived to the WR.  It was per se uncatchable.

They are 6 in the AP poll and yes I already was aware.

If you include AP top 6 games at Texas Sark is 1-7

I see #6 Oklahoma in 2021. What is the other #6 team? Did we already lose to Ohio State? Are you from the future?

By my count we are 1-6 with every single one of those losses being by one score (oops...except the 15 point loss to Georgia...I remembered we got within one score at one point and forgot they put us away late). Including the one where Texas was unranked and Alabama was #1.

I am not sure that really works to form a grand narrative Texas cannot compete or underachieves against top 6 teams. I dispute your narrative that we are "well on our way."
