Same here, but I want ND to win just so I can imagine that maybe we would've lost to ND if we got there. Plus, Ryan Day looks like the ventriloquist dummy villain in all my nightmares.

Smith probably goes off for 150 yards and 2 tds against them

What? It is hardly some kind of new revelation that a mobile QB drastically improves an offense. If they are constantly worrying about him keeping it on the RPO it can really open things up for the running game for example.

We're gonna average 40pts a game next year, maybe more. If PK stays, our fucking D will kick ass again. Can an inexperienced QB take us to the promised land? By the end of the year, a healthy Manning could be one of the best QBs in the country. These last two years with Quinn were just warm ups for the greatness to come to this program.  It's gonna be awesome

That toss sweep was so bad, sorry, Manning would have scored. Non conference champ is gonna win it all, this system is dumb.

After watching this display of play calling when it mattered the most, I am really thinking Sark needs someone to help call plays.

I mean I kind of get what you are saying. That the problems are just what we are going to see forever more because this is the Sark way and it is just going to be that way. Quinn or no Quinn.

But I don't know. We have had Quinn the past three years and Sark has only been here four years and the personality and talents of the QB can be a big influence. Plus it is only Sark's 4th year. The tendencies of the first two years have no necessarily been the tendencies of the past two. Maybe still can learn a thing or two.

So I am not quite ready for all the doom and gloom.

QE is the same QB tonight he was three years ago.  Sark has the same deficiencies tonight he had four years ago.  Neither has improved.

Well if we had Baxter or Bijan or Brooks maybe that is different today.

Osu went and got judkins in the portal last year and that bruiser from WV for next year.   We need to make some additions this spring.

Except the issue was whether he was great. That’s what you said, great. And Better than chuck cocaine tits ain’t great. Least not without more!

and again, even by your metric, better than two?  Your math ain’t mathin. Last year it was two, this year it was two. So at least 4 if not more if you want to be all arguable about it (which I’d agree we are Better but at that hypothetical point it’s all conjecture)

I don’t know if I said great or not. I picked up the conversation with you after you said better than strong isn’t much. I said he deserves our respect, gratitude and appreciation for bringing Texas back to consistent top 5 finishes. That’s a helluva accomplishment in my eyes.

I’ll bet Mack is popping champagne 72 Dolphins style tonight.  That self absorbed fucker does it every year when Texas is officially out of the running for the next national championship.

Him and probably all the other SEC and Big 12 teams.

and only one of them is staying, but most are  focusing on the one that is leaving.

Quinn has delivered as much as (maybe more than) Colt. Stop hating. Dude balled.

Championship Football cannot be won without a running game.

You can say you think QE played well without going hyperbolic.  Colt got to the NC with an OL that was much worse than ours tonight.

I can't wait to see a qb that can throw deep passes to speed receivers with regularity.  Small steps, but that's next on my wish list.  Also, more TE, because that was there.  Helm was criminally underutilized that last two games.

What makes this one hurt worse is, I came into the game kinda expecting a loss so I’m accepting.  Then they gave me hope and I’m like we’re winning this!  Then they shit their pants and killed that hope.  Like every game they lost minus Georgia 1 maybe, they should have won.  I really have no doubt we will be in the same place next year and the media will just be like Texas can’t win the big ones.  Then we will see if we can finally.

Metric? Colt was 3-1 against ou and woulda done well In the championship absent an injury. Ewers didn’t get us to it at all and went 2-2 against ou. I’m open to listening to metrics and change my mind but the hate is deserved; and more so if you want to elaborate on “delivered”.

edit: stupid autocorrect

The vaunted OL was such a disappointment in 3 games this year. You needed a yard and they couldn't get you anything. Maybe it doesn't matter next year with Arch but I feel this will be Colt 2.0 where he has to make everything himself.

Quinn is a good college QB.  He also seems to take bad sacks and throw into linemen’s arms way too often.  I don’t think he’s to blame tonight, the line didn’t perform and the run game was awful again.  Will arch be better?  Maybe.  But our defense is good, close to great.  Just need more consistency on offense.

The offense part he’s right on.   Defense is probably a question mark wait and see.

Yeah but this is infinity times better than 5-10 years ago.  To me the fact that we are good makes losses like this hurt less.

Ewers was 2-1 against OU. Casey Thompson was the QB in 2021.

The game was lost on 1 broken play by the defense and 1 bad goal line series. We never got a full good game out of this team all year and that really fucking sucks. I hate that Sark took the game away from his team at the end with 1 shitty play call.

I think his schemes are a problem. We ran a few counters for good yardage but the base run game is zone and our guys get beat often. And in pass pro cam is atrocious.

And all of our losses are tough and hard fought games. Not...you know...what we endured on the reg from 2010 to 2022.

I was initially happy Cam was back and then...another Cam false start. He's a fucking penalty machine.

First injury was in the Alabama game and he nursed that injury for like half the season if memory is correct. He did not get as many carries as sark wanted - remember he came out of camp as RB1 as a freshman. His number of carries for the year do not reflect that. Why? Nagging injuries.

Fair, he earned respect for his play but he ain’t great. That’s all. On a strictly play level he has done well, so cool. Won’t even venture cr but for his play only, he did fine but it’s time UT moves and I’m cool with him doing well in the nfl and representing UT like a badass.
