Metric? Colt was 3-1 against ou and woulda done well In the championship absent an injury. Ewers didn’t get us to it at all and went 2-2 against ou. I’m open to listening to metrics and change my mind but the hate is deserved; and more so if you want to elaborate on “delivered”.

edit: stupid autocorrect

The hate is not deserved and Colt was a clearly better qb than Ewers.

Fair, he earned respect for his play but he ain’t great. That’s all. On a strictly play level he has done well, so cool. Won’t even venture cr but for his play only, he did fine but it’s time UT moves and I’m cool with him doing well in the nfl and representing UT like a badass.

Oh I’m not a fan of him off the field at all. But then I’m not a fan of Colt off the field either.

We can all complain to exhaustion about a lot of things if it makes us feel better, but I doubt any one would have been unhappy with where we are now compared to just 3 years ago (and the 12 years before that). Sucks it went down the way it did tonight, but if you had claimed we’d be this close just 3 years ago you’d have been heckled as a dilusional yahoo homer.

Off-season focus should be getting the three most physical G-C-G combination on the o-line possible, getting Baxter healthy and Gibson working on ball security. We need to be an inside zone, downhill running team that can take shots downfield on play action.

This for sure. Also hoping Christian Clark can buck the odds and come back from his Achilles injury.

Maybe, but he missed exactly one game.

He played hobbled for many and was not nearly as effective - both number of carries and production with those carries because of it.

he could be great but I don’t know, he’s really only played with a notable injury at Texas.

you do understand that there are varying levels of injuries? Bond and Golden played today. I guess they weren't injured.

Nagging injuries limited Baxter as Jonathon Brooks took advantage of increased playing time, eventually becoming the first running back selected in the 2024 NFL Draft despite his own knee injury against TCU that ended his season.

I have always worried about which Ewers was going to show up. Amazingly enough he took the Horns to the Final Four in the playoffs with a strong chance of winning it all, twice.

Looks like I should have worried more about which Sark was going to show up with the game on the line.

Quinn is a good college QB.  He also seems to take bad sacks and throw into linemen’s arms way too often.  I don’t think he’s to blame tonight, the line didn’t perform and the run game was awful again.  Will arch be better?  Maybe.  But our defense is good, close to great.  Just need more consistency on offense.

Are you asking if arch will run himself into a sack multiple times in one drive? Or will he throw 5 feet above receivers’ heads or at their feet on crucial passes killing that drive? Like……define better.

Can we not make an argument of what Quinn is or isn’t? Next year we have Arch starting. No one is going to challenge or question. Arch may be the best thing to happen to the Forty Acres ever.

That said, we need to appreciate Quinn. He won’t be back for which many will be happy, but he brought us back from irrelevance, and brought us to multiple semi finals where we were one play away. Quinn and Sark and our line play brought us to where we are. We’re here to stay.

I’m proud to be a Texas Ex and excited for the future.

Big12 ACC officials with thumbs on the scale - again?

Perhaps they confused the red jerseys for OU and f-ed Texas over again :)

3 holds on the play.  1 borderline, 2 egregious (the one right up the middle was a bear hug).  Zero flags.  Completely changed the game.

Tip of the cap to the defense shitting the bed at the end of the 2nd quarter,  otherwise they are likely kicking for a 17-14 lead on 4th down there

That isn't how it works and you know it. You are assuming the 2nd half playcalling would be exactly the same if Ohio State didn't score at the end of the 2nd quarter. Who knows how each coach would have handled it if it was tied 7-7 at half.

If we can’t run or protect with free rushers coming multiple times a game who is to blame for that?
This OL was supposed to be stout. It was anything but.

True but that pitch play...

No one thought that would work when they have speed and you just need 1 f'ing yard.

it’s always easier to be blown out than to lose a game you could’ve won. And you can talk about chances lost through overthrows, or holding calls not called, but when the smoke clears, the national champion should be able - with four downs - to make 2 yards.

if you look at it critically you can decipher whether it’s QE, the play calling, the run scheme, the OL play. I think sark will get his championships but he’s going to need a transcendent QB. Sark is not winning a title with a good enough QB.

I do not agree. If we had shown any ability to run the ball over the last several games, we probably win the SEC and the Championship.

If your G/C are getting blown out, you can't win championships.

I couldn't see the game (so l will watch tonight). But I'm willing to bet this game resembled the last several, which do not resemble the typical Sark offense that is predicated on establishing the run between the tackles.

Figure out what needs to happen to RUN THE BALL effectively.

Not sure what you disagree with because I agree with you. But I am not convinced that’s going to happen, hence my statement sark will need a transcendent QB to win it all.

I think Sark COULD see it, and game planned around Quinns weaknesses. Why he never replaxed Quinn is a different discussion altogether. What was bad was not giving Arch, our starter next year, more meaningful playing time THIS year.

You can’t blame the coach on that. It’s 2 dudes in a phone booth. Have to win your matchup and let’s your nuts  hang

If those slow developing plays were planning around his weaknesses I'm gonna need a other dose of hopium.

Minor fix but it matters. With the PI Texas actually had 1 down to go 2 yards and 4 more to go 1 yard.

We lost 7 and gave up 6 points.

Big 12 Championship. Check.

Big bowl wins, check.

Back to Back top 5 finishes. Check.

I didn't say Quinn was better. I'm just not catching on with him being a spare. You doing get from where we were to where we are with a spare QB.

Bro is carrying a a 2.5ypc rushing game against top teams. And we're putting it on him for some reason.

Sark needs to work on his fucking redzone

I think he got knocked out. I think like 4 players in this game got knocked out and came back like skatteboo last week. Arch didn't, and I'm fine with that if he got his bell ring like I think he did

Technically, he did see it against Georgia and brought in Arch. But for whatever reason, brought back Quinn. And after that, he was never going to turn back on that decision. I don't think anyone would have really second guessed him going away from Quinn at that point. He never progressed to the hype he had and took a step back from last year.

I'm talking results.

How? Colt was a NC runner up in the BCS era and beat OSU in the Fiesta Bowl. Neither of these past two Texas teams would have made the NC game.  At best Quinn would have been a 2x bowl champion.
