The Quinn thing has become irrational. Yes, he fumbled on that play, the score was an insult but the sack effectively ended it. Why are some folks the things that lead to that down, the massive non-block by Cam Williams, who by the way, has a higher draft projection than Quinn, and the fact that the play design itself was shit, with really not much open.

It passed irrational a long, long time ago.  Huck nailed it early in the game thread.  25+ years of hornfans, shaggy, and surly and a huge portion of the fan base can't get past hurr, no touchdown play, qb sucks.

The last OSU TD drive, on the long 3rd down pass, refs didn't call an obvious fucking holding. That drive should've ended there. Then Sark again being a goddamned idiot when we absolutely have to score. And the fucking dipshit blitz call at the end of the 1st half. Those 3 things....

This. I expected a loss, what I didn’t expect is fucking stupidity. The kids played well enough to win, coaches let them down.  And mid game I had a lot of hope.

Quinn lost the biggest games of his career. Fans don't like QBs if they don't have faith in them to win the biggest games. That's not unique at all to Quinn or Texas fans.

I know we'll eventually get there, but being in the final 4 when we had a chance to beat tOSU fucking hurts so bad. At least we're loading up on offense and defense. We'll get there. Maybe next year. But today? I hurt. I'm baffled at the stupidity of our offense, particularly Ewers.

I don't hate the kid, but his limit is what we've been seeing the last 3 years. He got us out of the dark ages, but he just next really improved. He's been average at best thod season. I can't wait for Arch.

I'm also Haooy we stifled Smith and Egbuka. It was Judkins who dominated us. Hill looked lost, and I didn't hear from Lefau one time.

Yeah—Ewers leads the team down the field with a flawless drive, but we find ourselves at 4th and goal from the 8 because of brain dead play calling, and then Cam Williams completely whiffs on a block … and it’s because Ewers is Charmin soft.

Never change, surly.

So you didn’t see all the self sacks. Cool

I don't think Arch has to be great. He just has to be consistent and hit the open throws. Occasionally throwing a good deep ball. The plays were open all season. Quinn either didn't see the open guy, made a bad pass, or self-sacked by putting his head down. Not saying he was terrible, just not consistent.

I say never run outside the tackles when you have 4 shots from the 1.5 yard line. You can’t get that then you shouldn’t be there.

Well, there's a time and place for running outside on the goal line.  But it depends on circumstances.  And I'm definitely not doing it unless my back can really fly so that he can overcome angles and get to corners, and that's not Wisner.  Tre was terrific this year, but he's not the type of speedster that you want for that call.  Just another reason why that was a bad call -- the personnel didn't fit it.

Hearing Arch got dinged on that 4th down conversion.

I guess that’s why

Sark needs to work on his fucking redzone

It looked like that safety hit Arch in the back of the head, which is the easiest way to get in a concussion.

To me, they were both ultimately good, not great, college QBs.

Hoping Arch can step up to the "great" pedestal next season or in '26, and that might be what we need the most to get back to the promised land.

Fully agree to that. For me it’s more about their approach to the game rather than stats. Sam just seemed to always come to play, where with Quinn you don’t know if you’re getting Tom Brady or Ryan Leaf.

Yeah after the 15 years of dog shit outside of some decent years from Sam, qb play prior to Quinn, I'll fondly remember his time here.

It's been a fun, but sometimes frustrating, two years rooting for a very good team.

But, not great

I’m thinking now would be an excellent time for Paul Bryant Jr to let the moths fly out of his wallet and get Arch back on this side of the Mississippi; all the way to Tuscaloosa, in fact.  Y’all have wasted his highly talented 6’4” 225# ass with ability to move in the pocket AND throw accurately with consistency.  I’ve been crying for him to get playing time for weeks.

Disagree, we had them and tossed the ball 7 yards behind the los at the 1.

But why was that even considered?  Because we couldnt power it in and he knew it.  They did, twice.  They were better up front than us and their QB is a running threat

Arch will struggle at times next year, too, unless the offense is more balanced.

I am hoping Arch can run more. A mobile QB could really open this offense up. It was a key missing ingredient this year.

He speared Arch and it wasn't called. Yes that looked like an injury and I'm actually glad Arch didn't come back.

I wouldn’t bet money on next year, manning is gonna be good but he’s green and well the rest of our problems aren’t leaving with Quinn.

So how long do we have to wait for QE3 to have his press conference, and share that he will be returning to Texas for another year, to get a Natty?.

And then Sark has his presser and shares that the QB position is open and everybody has to compete and earn it, and that Quinn, and what he’s done for this University(lol) has earned his chance to earn it back.

The WR position let us down this year. Golden ended up being solid, but we didn’t have a 2nd guy. Bond was a huge bust. Moore was just ok. Wingo is still pretty raw. Biggest reason we couldn’t blow teams out IMO and cost us tonight.

i also think running Wisner into the ground against Aggy sapped his legs down the stretch.

He will, but we've still gotta be able to run it between the tackles more consistently.

Otherwise, we risk getting Arch hurt.

Stats don’t show that. Bad call before the half, stupid play calling at the goal line. That’s it. And if you look at refs and a few other plays Texas is winning by two scores. Kids played well enough to win, coaches let them down. That’s really what the sec network was saying.

Sark needs to get an OC so he can help oversee the game and to stop him from tilting a few times per game

Agreed.  Sam certainly left it on the field and wore it on his sleeve.  QE was very flat-line -- which can be a really good thing in a QB -- but I think fans wanted to see the occasional "I bleed burnt orange" emotion that Sam so often displayed.

I saw him put the tram on his shoulders and lead them to the only TD of the 3rd quarter.

If the defense didn't pass down their leg right before half we would have been driving to win and just kicked a field goal.

Quinn's career at Texas is over.
