Kind of surprised that Coco has already won a Slam. She has a loser mentality.

Same can be said about Ostspenko, Raducanu, Kenin, and Andreescu. all of these ladies won their lone slam at about the age of 20 and then struggled to get back to that same level that won them their slam. There’s still time for these ladies to win a 2nd slam, but most of them won’t

I would put Ostapenko as the most likely to do it in the next 5 years and Raducanu the most likely to do it in the 5 years after that… if she’s even still on the tour by then vs having gone on to university*.

Kenin made a second final in the same year. Perhaps she would have won the French if it had been the 2nd major and whatever got in Iva’s ass had not had the extra 4 1/2 months to germinate.

*as they say in the UK.

Novak wins in 4. Wow.

I did naz-i that coming.

If they had played the day match instead of Zverev/Paul, Carlos would have won it.

Just watched the Novak/Alcaraz match. Amazed.

Me watching time left in the recording vs current score:

Thinking Think GIF by Rodney Dangerfield

But a few thoughts:

Watching the juxtaposition of absolute athleticism with absolute precision was amazing. Truly special.

Fucking Djokovic: "injured" after 8 games was hugely demoralizing and infuriating. I texted my sister (phd UT 1996) - Djokovic is healthy, Alcaraz is healthy, it's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Ok, nevermind. Djokovic is hurt. Again. Old assed cunt slapper. Watch Bridgerton or something.

20 minutes later:IT'S ON!!!!

,

Speaking of amazing tennis, I watched Nadal Djokovic last night. Longest final in history. I'm kinda stunned by the difference in mentality then vs now.  No medicals, no massages. No timeouts. Most importantly, the intensity on each and every shot. It was stunning. No one got "overwhelmed" by serving for the match. No excuses tennis. Point after point. For 6 hours.  Put's Novac in perspective. He won 3 majors that year.

Love tennis. Sucks everyone else is figuring it out. :)

Emma wasn't gonna win anyway, but it is horseshit she was basically penalized for not stopping the point immediately. Fix that loophole.

Iga is all about exploiting loopholes.

I hope Maddie Keys knocks her off the fucking court and when Iga raises her hand for more time, even though she is standing at the baseline and it is Maddie’s serve, I hope that Keys serves up a 120 mph body serve that smacks Iga in her Polish cunt.

Sick of that doping, cheating, gamesmanship employing Polack.

I used to like her, but that ship has sailed.

Speaking of gamesmanship, watch for Sonego 🇮🇹 to start grunting AFTER he hits the ball and to continue until Shelton has hit the ball.

Why players are allowed to yell/grunt after the ball has crossed the net, I have no idea. A little microphone pointed at each player could be used to award the point to the opposing player every time noise making continues after the ball has changed ends.

(Sleep with one eye open, Aryna Sabalenka!)

It was 2-all, game point in the second between Iga/Navarro, that was the second bounce on a drop shot by Emma. Chair didn't call it, Iga won the point a couple shots later. When Emma protested, chair told her that play had to be stopped immediately to review. Iga won the game & next 3 for the match.

Fucking stupid that perfectly good technology exists to fix the fuckup, but some dumb fine print in the rule prevented it. Iga would have won anyway, but that's not the problem here.

Keys def. Swiatek was a surprise, but this is Sabalenkas tournament to lose. She’s gonna 3-peat

Fuck yeah, Maddie Keys

Maddie gets to stand up there and give a speech on Saturday and get her photo taken with a silver plate (or whatever) for only the second time in her career!

Nice going!!

That’s a great comeback for Keys. Pretty awesome for her. Hopefully she can regroup and come out strongly in the final.

I don't know if "her team" was on the bench with her or not, but when I heard that coaches could actually sit on the bench for the matches, I thought "No player will benefit more from this change than Madison Keys."

That girl can melt down in a heartbeat. Having someone to help her stay focused on the task at hand rather than let her go down a dark road of self doubt and second guessing would have helped tremendously over the last decade. She may actually have a grand slam trophy or two in her living room because her serve and her forehand can be howitzers when on.

What these guys & gals go through in the major tournaments is incredibly impressive. Their focus and conditioning is really amazing.

Sascha takes an 80-minute opener, Novak is struggling physically.

Holy shit, he just quit.

QUITTER!!!

Sascha seems to be a big fan of Novak’s. He may or may not have smacked some bitches up, but apparently Novak has been there when he needed someone to talk to.

PIVOTING…

Women’s semifinals may be Two Matches/ One Ticket…

But the men are absolutely One Match/ One Ticket.

It continues to be comical that women get paid the same as men at the Grand Slams. It makes zero economic sense, but without it, many women wouldn’t be able to afford to play professionally.

I thought it was pretty cool that he came to Novak’s defense after there was some booing from the crowd. Novak is not young anymore and the body has been beaten up pretty good for a very long time.

One of these 15-year old twins is in the girls’ final too. Funny thing is their parents have never told them which is older.

They will likely do fine with NIL while they are making their rounds in the juniors.

One of the twins, Kristina, is also in the girls singles final. Unfortunately, her opponent is a Japanese girl who is not her twin

I started watching the Sinner v Shelton at 0-2 in the first set and Sinner reeled off 3 straight before Shelton held to go to 3-3 and I thought…

That Germanic white boy from Tyrol is going to win this match in straight sets.

Shelton seemed to want to hit the net on every serve and even when he got the ball in, Sinner had the rally at a neutral exchange after his second hit.

Sinner is currently several levels above Shelton.
