NFL Wildcard Weekend

This result was not surprising at all after how the Vikings played last week against Detroit with the #1 seed on the line. Darnold looked bad in that game. Rams while don't have a great record, are well coached and have talent. Believe they dealt with a lot of injuries and they started off very slow.

Every home team won this weekend. I think only Houston was the home underdog?

Divisional round is always my favorite weekend of football. It's like the Sweet 16/Elite 8. You have weeded out the pretender teams. Much better matchups and it's a full weekend of games unlike the championship week the following week.

My picks are Lions/Eagles in the NFC and Ravens/Chiefs. That would be 3/4 of the same teams as last year in championship round.

Vikings are chokers.

Shit, prior to the season the Vikings were expected to win approximately 7 games.  Nobody expected them to even sniff the playoffs, let alone win 14 games.  I'm a fan, and the absolute best outcome I could conjure was 9-8.

Yes, they didn't play well the last 1.5 games of the season/playoffs.  But to lose a road playoff game in which they were barely favored against a team that had previously beaten them -- that isn't choking.  That's called getting your ass kicked by a good team that played what might have been its best game of the season.  It happens.

I'll be rooting for Buffalo from here on out.

Two things can be true:

1) The Vikings wildly exceeded expectations this season.

2) They completely stepped on their dicks the last two weeks in a fashion that has been typical of this franchise for it's entire fucking existence regardless of coaching, players, or management.

Signed, a lifelong suffering moron who picked the closest NFL team instead of the second closest NFL team to their home town.

To be fair, it was a neutral site game played in a city with a huge Vikings fan contingency. They had a lot more fans in the building than they would have at SoFi.

Washington won

Yea should be some good games. Vikes had no chance at winning in Philly. I’m just glad we’re gonna have more money instead of paying Sam what he’s gonna command.

Vikings had a good 1 score game record, like 9-1 with the 1 being a last min field goal loss to Detroit. But plenty of times the we’d jump out to a 2-3 score first half lead and then do nothing the rest of the game. We need a few OL, some younger DBs, and a rb. Only have 1 first this year and nothing until the 5th. Wouldn’t mind trading back if it presents itself

Vikings' offense requires the quarterback to hold the ball for a long time which apparently has a downside.

Our offense is stupid. Run some slants or drags on these short passing situations. Didn’t do it last week in Detroit and didn’t do it last night on 4th downs and the 2 pt conversion

Too many guys running forward and crashing into each other

Actually I was rooting for Vikings and Buffalo to reach SB, so one down.  My choker comment is regarding their history not just this season but they got a good HC and in the hunt to win SB now which is way more than my Cowboys.

Have you been following the saga of the horrible Eagles fan who verbally assaulted the female Packers fan? The dude has been identified. Guessing he will be banned from NFL games, but more importantly, his company, BCT Partners, a consulting company, is getting bombarded on social media, and will no doubt, fire him, lol. I found this on their Facebook page.  image.thumb.png.27ee8530e81e76319935f41333ac2565.png

Yeah, I agree with that.

Got it.  There have certainly been some shitastic instances of upfuckery on their part over the years.  The 1998 NFCCG and the the 2009 NFCCG both immediately spring to mind.

Both were chokejobs but 1998 takes the cake. I think Minnesota was 15-1 and unreal on offense that year with Culpepper, Moss, Carter. Pretty good defense if I remember. We were headed to an epic matchup of Minnesota vs Denver in the Super Bowl. Atlanta while were really good, wasn't on the level of Minnesota, even though they were 14-2. Minnesota got a double digit lead and just slowly melted down over time. And because of that result, we got a shitty Atlanta vs Denver Super Bowl, that was a blowout.

And Favre was just doing usual Favre things to lose at the end of that game. He did this same thing a few years prior when it was Green Bay vs NY Giants. But don't forget about Peterson's constant fumbling. I want to say this was the game that finally led the NFL to change the overtime rules and the opposing team has to score a TD to end the game, not just a FG.

I’m legitimately curious how teams can enforce bans like this. You don’t need proof of identity to purchase a ticket, it’s not like ticket scanners can spot people who’ve been banned, and the person can just change their hair or wear hats and sunglasses. Only thing I can think of is if another fan saw the article, recognizes them, and turns them in, which seems like a huge long shot. And considering it’s Philly, they’d probably be getting selfies with him and buying him beer, because they are collectively pure trash.

Cunningham, not Culpepper, in 1998.  And the Vikings didn't just slowly melt down over time in that game.  There were things like a sack/fumble at the end of the first half that led to 7 Atlanta points when Minnesota could have simply run out the clock to get to halftime.  Robert Smith inexplicably running out of bounds instead of killing clock in the 4th quarter when Minnesota had the lead.  Gary Anderson missing his first field goal OF THE ENTIRE SEASON.  Shit like that.

Oh, and FU for making me think of that nightmare.
