If anyone hasn't yet had the chance to neg a motherfucker yet over being a bigoted shitstain who blames the wildfires on DEI and lesbian bullshit, I've got some great news for you.

Here are three of them, nearly in a row, starting with this one:

We have too many people and the people we have don’t like spending money. Texas needs at least 4 more reservoirs, probably 6. Cali probably could use more than that. It’s crazy expensive to build, and you have to take land from people. And so it goes

...and you'd maybe not be surprised by where the bulk of the opposition to such projects comes from.  A whole lotta "big gubmint, leave us alone!  TAXATION IS THEFT!" and all that shit.

Except when we're outta water....then those EXACT same folks are bitching about "WHY DON'T THE GUBMINT DO ITS JOB!  I PAY TAXES, I SHOULD HAVE ALL THE WATER I WANT!!!"

You defending those ridiculous posts, which have ZERO connection to the fires, is perfectly predictable.

Have you not realized that the LA wildfire is a huge disaster? That fire prevention and mitigation is as big of a failure as the levees in New Orleans during Katrina?

oh, hell. Strike that. Y’all convinced me. This disaster was unforeseeable, unmanageable and unpreventable. All government offices involved did a great job.

The more on point comparison would be if Harvey settled over New Orleans instead of Houston. Maybe you could criticize the city for not overhauling its 100 year old drainage system that runs on an archaic type of electricity, but ultimately there is nothing that can be done to prevent catastrophic damage from such a freak occurrence. There are 33 million acres of forest in California, most of it on federal land. Five years ago the state and federal governments agreed to an ambitious plan to burn 1 million acres a year (which to my knowledge they’ve yet to come close to hitting). Let the magnitude of that sink in.

ICE CREAM SHOULD NOT BE OFFERED AS AN OPTION WITH COBBLER.  COBBLER COMES WITH ICE CREAM.  IT'S AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE DISH.

Lol, at least Slorch pretended to be surprised by the politicization, and now comes Incredulity staning for the “fire no stop ‘cause DEI crowd.” So predictably pathetic.

Wrong.

I’m calling out bitchass gatekeeping brigading.  You don’t like a meme neg it.  If its outside of forum rules report it.

Background:

I serve on my small city’s water advisory board.

Theres only two folks on this thing that don’t have at least one foot in the grave.

Story:

Of course the fires and water system issues come up at our last meeting

it isn’t crazy how social media has highjacked society.
These fuckers were convinced that California was turning away fire trucks from Oregon bc they didn’t pass CA’s emissions testing.

“No, it’s real. I talked with my friend in LA that confirmed it.”

Then I had to hear the chairman go on and on about how climate change isn’t real and that the earth goes through heat and cooling cycles all the time right before we discuss the docket item of …….. buying more water rights bc of the prolonged drought conditions we feel aren’t going away!

You can’t make this shit up…. Or I guess you can bc people will believe anything.

You're a better man than me to put up with that idiocy.

Has anyone seen any data regarding 2025 Santa Ana wind velocities VS historical numbers?

I'm wondering how California might have mitigated excess wind environments, if those numbers are actually up.  You know, because libtards.

I find it pretty fucking disgusting that the GQP is talking about putting conditions on the aid to California (and yes, I remember Ted fucking Cruz voting against aid to New York and New Jersey in 2012 as well) while they do not put conditions on aid to Florida or Louisiana. Fuck them. I think the states that are net payors should tell Washington to fucking pound sand. We will keep our own fucking money to support our people and not people in Florida.

Just a reminder that Florida and Texas both fall into the category that would benefit by keeping their money.

Wonder no more. You just need to travel back to year 2019 and this quote by the incoming leader of this country:

Quote

You know, I know windmills very much....I've studied it [sic] better than anybody I know...But they're manufactured -- tremendous, if you're into this, tremendous fumes, gases are spewing into the atmosphere.

So some way some how, the reason for the rollback the incoming president wants on wind energy is going to be blamed on the windmills in California and the wildlfires because there is too much wind apparently. He might want to install a gauge in DC since that seems to be a greater source of most hot air in the US than the Santa Ana winds coming from the Great Basin and heading towards southern cal.

1) just a friendly reminder:  Most of CA forest land is under U.S. Forest Service control. So, 5 or 6 years ago, we had this moronic cocksucker as POTUS, and he talked about CA "mismanagement" of forest land, which was actually under HIS control.

2) @Foosters I'm sorry...I know a little about you, but I don't know where you live?  What part of town are you in?

3) as some of you know, I live in N. San Diego County, near Camp Pendleton.  Pendleton does control burns quite often. Here's one example: https://www.pendleton.marines.mil/Wildland-Fire-Information-Prevention/#:~:text=A firefighter with the Camp, fire season with prescribed burn

I'm in Pasadena. Northeast, near Hastings Ranch, close to Altadena actually. The fire's origin was almost due north of us and not that far away, but the winds blowing SW took the fire into Altadena. Our home was about 8 blocks from the closest home that burned And it was the only house on the street that went. Imagine that.
