Holy fucking shit. I thought Austin construction traffic was bad, but San Antonio says hold my cerveza. I have a hearing this morning and what should be a 1.5 hour drive from Austin to the Bexar County Courthouse took close to two hours. I35 is fucked from Schertz to south of 410.

Wow, almost 30 entire extra minutes worth of traffic. So crazy. That’s insane.

Yeah, I guess that’s not a lot of time when you have a commute from your mom’s basement to your mom’s living room.

They’ve literally been shutting down 35 and diverting cars to the access road at times.

Southerleigh’s, imo.

What you order? I think Southerleigh has passed Brasserie as my fave at the Pearl.
They also do a chicken sammich collab at the farmers market now. Supposed to be incredible.

Will be in the government canyon area next week. What are some good pet friendly places near there

Also might try out pinkertons, does it sell out?

I’ve gone in the afternoon and heard last calls for brisket.

Pinkerton’s definitely isn’t worth the drive all the way downtown. You can throw a rock in the Alamo ranch/1604 area and hit a good restaurant, I’d stick around there. If you like cheesecakes there’s a really good place called Laika around there that sells small ones.

Thanks but don’t really care about cheesecakes. Was thinking more of an icehouse type place. Something good to bring a dog to and have some beers and food. Or just a restaurant with a nice outdoor area that allows dogs.

Fish city grill is a legit scratch kitchen with a patio area. A little on the pricey side but good shrimp and grits.

Stone works big Rock grille. Nice patio area, little more pricey good ribeye.

The longhorn Cafe. Decent burgers and chicken fried steak. Has a small patio area more casual.

Stouts Pizza has a patio area also with a good beer selection at shaenfield and 1604.

At Bandera and 1604 you have sea island shrimp house with a patio area. Not fancy at all but good bang for the buck.

Not sure on dog policy for any of theese but all decent to good.food.

Finally made it over to SA Fredericksburgers.  Pretty damn good.  It's right by home, so we will definitely be going back. Just did a regular cheesburger, but planning on getting the Roadrunner next time.

For an ice house Hills and Dales is a pretty classic San Antonio place on that side of town. I’ve never seen Pinkertons completely sold out. There may be a meat that’s sold out but not the entire menu.

If you have your dog and are going to go downtown I would check Idle Brewing and Beer Hall in North Downtown. They make good beer and have a nice patio. Two blocks away is Road Map brewing on Alamo and one block the opposite direction is Back Unturned Brewing. Not exactly near Government Canyon but very close to Pinkertons.

Lololol someone is pimping Little Woodrows? I bet that chuckledick thinks Olive Garden is world class italian food too

You saw who it was right?  And downtown is "too far",  so stay around (checks notes) Alamo Ranch?  Lol... Yeah, this is not how to promote San Antonio.

Parry's Pizza is solid pizza place in that area with a patio.

Have any of yall been to Haywire yet? It's at La Cantera next to the PF Changs. It was a couple different restaurants prior but this new place looks really nice and a cool vibe.

Been to the one in Dallas.  If you've ever been to the Ranch in Las Colinas then you know what to expect.  It's the same restaurant.

Thanks! Has anything opened up where Rustic was? Was hoping we'd get another concert type restaurant there.

Was that in La Cantera?  I'm giving all these recs from my gf.  I live in Dallas and she's in SA, but damn she knows all the best spots.

Ate at Haywire last Wednesday. Nice vibe and the food was good. Not a fan of the mall but if you are in the area it will now be a go to spot.

No The Rustic is still for lease. It’s a huge space, I really don’t know what could justify that lease. House of Blues?
