I'm doubtful the Duke, Florida, or Auburn fans even knows what La Semana means.  Now UH?  That's where the problems will start IMO

Finally ate a SA famous burger joint, Burger Boy.  got the basic combo.  and for only $9.08 got a hot, fresh, delicious burger, fries, and good drink.  They didn't even water down the drinks.   Don't remember the last time I ate fresh fries.  Burger had steam coming off of it.

Better than Mr. Juicy for sure.

I love me some burger boy. It’s the closest thing to shortstop I’ve found in SA.

We stayed there so long that my wife didn't give a shit about going to the downstairs Esquire (which was her original goal).

Esquire is really cool

Was watching a 2018 episode of DD&D last night, had Dignowity Meats on, shit looked real good. Googled it, closed in December. Any of you try it back in the day?

I stayed in an Airbnb down the street and had a sandwich and a beer there pre-Covid. Cool spot. Sucks that they closed. Surprising because that neighborhood was transitioning quickly. Without googling I’m guessing the landlord jacked up the rent.

Incredible shakes also. Their seasonal Texas sheet cake shake was awesome!

I’m afraid the music venue at the Final Four celebration will turn into old school La Semana antics. F that!

I was at La Semena once watching Ted Nugent.  A fight broke out in front of us and someone tried to stab someone else with a screwdriver.  Then a storm blew in and Ted Nugent just yelled "bring it on Mother Nature" and kept playing.

When we did stagger back to The Westin, drunk and almost ready for watching reruns of The Office in the room, we bellied up to the bar at Zocca.  Once again, their bar and food menu are awesome, but we already know that.  I'm sure Helobious doesn't

For anyone bringing a wife to San Antonio, I hope this is helpful.

The Westin/Zocca was a very common thing back in my sugar baby days.

Had Royal once 4 or 5 years ago, it was horrible. I don't know how he ended up there. Had Florio's once like 15+ years ago. Don't remember being impressed. I typically don't go looking for NY style though.

Having said that I do really like Grimaldi's.

Grimaldi’s is plenty good. Especially for a chain. Dough is still the best pizza in the city

Going to Blush for brunch Saturday with some friends and the wife and I are going to try Pazzo Pastaria for dinner.

Love pazzo pastaria. The owners are extremely friendly as well.

I live right next to Royal.  It's been open for about 10 years.  Everyone around the area swears its a money laundering business because no way are they staying in business based on their pizza.  True story.  Flew in on Christmas eve.  Had nothing at home and everything was closed of course except Royal.  Not good not good at all

Dough Pizza is excellent. Nothing in San Antonio comes close to Dough's.

The Dignowity Pie with burnt ends was a personal favorite. Slammed and went hard.
