Mulholland Drive is probably in my top five favorite movies ever

TP The Return was a proper magnum opus. Episode eight was one of the all-time triumphs of television.

Nobody could capture the dream world or other realities on film like David, and nobody could conjure the sense of true dread in a scene out of nowhere like David

I don't think any filmmaker messed with my head like David Lynch. That dude's mind must have been a trip.

I remember going to a late night showing of Lost Highway. One chick in front of me broke down crying and left, another one said she was freaking out and left. Some fat Anton Lavey looking creep kept rubbing his hands while muttering "yes, yes." There was a couple behind us that bailed on the movie too.

After the movie I said something like "I feel like there is a darkness on me." lulz

That movie was such a mind fuck.

Would have guessed older than that.  Blue Velvet was a highly quotable film during undergrad and for a few years after and set up Twin Peaks nicely, which unfortunately fell off a cliff.

I'd forgotten some of his more mainstream flicks.

RIP.

Today fucking sucks. Glad he got to finish Twin Peaks but I don't think we'll ever see a director or artist like him again. I don't give a shit about celebrity deaths but I'll admit this one hit home.

Twin Peaks: The Return is the greatest artistic achievement on film ever made.

Mulholland Dr is one of the best films ever made.

There will never be another person like him, and we are all poorer for it. Kyle McLachlan's tribute on Instagram made me cry

i was hanging out in the trans-pecos during 89/90/91/92

wim wenders & paris, texas are and will always remain #1 in trans-pecos film-making

while not entirely set in the trans-pecos, big tuna has to be terlingua or study butte, so wild at heart will always be in my transpecos top 10 and i have it at #5

i have an original 24x36 of this from it's theatrical release

If anyone hasn't seen The Straight Story, it's on Disney+ and is perhaps his most criminally underrated/underseen film. Unlike anything else he made, and yet it fits like a glove into his oeuvre.

This one really sucks.

Such a unique special artist.

Mostly a Twin Peaks guy.  Seen most films, but never Wild at Heart or Elephant Man, or his latter one with Dern. Time up fill in the gaps..

I installed Kodi and illegal cable on my Amazon Fire TV for the sole purpose of watching The Return live.

He had emphysema and could not leave his house... I heard they had to move him bc of the LA fires... I'm thinking the hustle and bustle of transporting him thru that mess did him in.

Rest in peace David
