Onyema deserves to start unless he falls flat and Shed flips the switch on

Yeah, but I'm not sure how much it matters.  We just get destroyed down low, by everyone from trees to midgets.  (Little people.)

I love all things UT, but you couldn't pay me to watch this version of college basketball.

Shout-out to all you guys tuning in twice a week like you're Derka.

Bad defense, can't rebound, too many turnovers, scoring drought of multiple minutes, and the late game collapse.

This game checked all the boxes for a big Texas loss.

Even take Pope out for possibly the last Florida possession and Larry lets the same guy go right by him for a layup have, turrible.

Hell it’s not just Larry, they been going around the entire team. Terrible defense

What a disappointment Kent and Larry have been.

To whom?  I certainly didn't have any outsized expectations about them.  The fact that we were getting multiple players from ISU tells you something.  There were arguments on this board about whether they were good gets.  Well I think we know the answer.  But in fairness to them it doesn't help that our coach is average mid major level.

Kent had some good suitors and was ranked in the top 10 in the country by KenPom for effective field goal percentage, true shooting, and offensive rating.

I expected more than 4 points and 2 rebounds a game.

totally uncompetitive.  I suppose he could win every 50/50 game left and make it to 7-11 but I'm not sure that gets this team in.

4 of the 5 conference games have actually seen us be very competitive for about 70% of the game before getting completely outclassed the final 8-10 minutes. And the one we were largely uncompetitive in was Auburn, which we came back and made competitive.

We have the talent to hang around in most of these games but lose pretty much everywhere else and eventually that shows.

At this point, I'll watch to see just how bad it gets.

I mean I do get that. And I probably will watch again, but damn…it’s just sad

We're dog shit. I'm sure there will be arguments why RT should be given one more year, but you fucking know we'll be firing his ass next year. So why fuck around.

I'm struggling to think of one.

Giving him the job in the first place was ridiculous. He took over a top 10 team, and Chris Beard took over an absolute dumpster fire of a program. Look at where they are two years later.

It’s probably down to people like TJ Ford who will defend him.

Kent looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. Unless Jane is Madison Booker, in which case he doesn't play like Jane, either.

It’s sad for Kent and Larry because they came from a place that played team ball and a coach that ran a GOOD OFFENSE. I literally went to watch some of their games from last year especially the NIT. They look like “TOTALLY DIFFERENT” players in a moving offense (night and day).😳 They even had that previous coach offense on YouTube so this shit has to be different for them too.  They do not look the same here in this nonexistent offense.  I don't think they are use to playing ISO ball.  Now I can’t fault them because this shit over here is crazy.  Everyone has to buy in on defense. Their coach was a mid-major coach, and he seemed to be able to run circles around our offense.

I saw the same thing Kent was ranked in the top 10 in the country by KenPom. I had to quickly remind myself this came from a coach who had a Good Offense (moving, cutting, and screening). I know he maybe kicking himself in the ass because I would if I came to a nonexistent offense.

Do you think it matters who this staff gets? They are not going to live up to their potential because of coaching but sure let's pin this shitshow on some transfers.

We're just fucking terrible.

Coaches terrible so that makes the team terrible. It starts from the head.  This one-on-one has to be acceptable because I see it every game.

This is so true. No matter who they bring in, they will not reach their full potential. These guys have to see what everyone else sees. Let's pin these on transfers that come off the bench and get less playing time than what they are used to and most can't get in the flow of the game. It’s hard to believe this situation isn't frustrating for them as well, especially coming off a successful season and good coaching. Hell, I would be frustated too.

Why do guys like Tre Johnson come to Austin anyway?  $NIL?  Proximity to home?  Other?

guaranteed big NIL and starter / star role with no restrictions on shot selection.

His shot selection killed the Texas comeback vs auburn.
