Boy it’s hard to figure out why ND is doing so well against the Ohio State D while our offense struggled
Really hard to discern any important difference at any key positions….

Our oline was massively overrated

For all the fuckers that were like "we should just throw it 40 times." You just saw why establishing a run game is such a big deal.

It's completely demoralizing to an opposing defense. Sad what the OL became against elite competition.

Yep.   This is how MI beat them as well.   Grind them out.   Go right at them.  The receipts are there.

They just pushed OSU's D around like they're a bunch of bitches.  ND QB has plenty of time when he drops back too.

Take notes Texas OLine

Coach Flood, Coach Flood to the white courtesy phone.

That drive shows how bad our OLine was despite the talent. And how hard having a statue at QB makes things.

all of this

I was told by the surly House M.D.s that he couldn't go more than 1 play without getting concussed?

Fucking this.

Yep.   Mobile also doesn’t have to mean Lamar Jackson.   At times Brady was “mobile” in that he knew better than most how to move around in the pocket and extend drives.

You can only hope Sark isn’t a complete asshole who needs to be humbled and understands you don’t have to be cute and try to always out smart the opponent.

do what works until they stop it.

A running QB helps the OL so much.  it's the one thing about Sark that could be his achilles heel.  He doesn't want his QB to run.  doesn't have to be a battering ram a la Sam, he just has to be a threat.  It is playing with one hand tied behind your back in college.

he better make sure his OL coach is doing his job if he isn't going to change.

Freeman might be the best coach in CFB

Good thing their last coach got out of the way and took off to pursue national championships at some Louisiana shithole. What was that guy's name again?

While this is true, it is a bit weird in the context of a drive that only worked because the QB was used as a battering ram.

He doesnt even need designed plays, but a qb that can escape the pocket when it collapses is invaluable

I don't think ND's D is going to hold up as well as ours did but I hope to be wrong.

agree with  this.  I think OSU is just too fast.

Welp.  I think I'd bet on the team picking up huge chunk plays over the one that had to grind out 18 plays and several 4th down conversions to score.

But Howard is also probably good for a turnover or 2.

Notre Dame is playing vanilla AF on defense.  Maybe it's by design, but it seems like they are 'playing catch' a lot, as opposed to attacking the offense.
