tOSU away and then three straight weeks of Little Sisters of the Poor, and then a bye is not the most dynamic scheduling, I'll be honest.

We had to add Sam Houston because the pussies in the SEC only play 8 conference games when we were playing 9 in the Big 12. San Jose State and UTEP were already on the schedule for a while. I'd much prefer a late September bye before 5 straight weeks of SEC games.

Does dynamic scheduling matter? Having byes at key weeks during the season is more important.

Yep, Texas would much rather be playing a 9th conf game against SoCar or Ole Miss or LSU. Fucking SEC pussies

I mean, as a fan I'd rather not have four straight weeks with zero interest other than "how high will we run up the score" and "should I just take a nap". I'd much rather play a Cal or Maryland here now that we're out of the Dark Ages.

We’re literally playing Ohio state. With the new formate of playoff we’re not going to schedule two of the above teams in addition to Ohio state. That’s just idiotic.

I'm aware, I just don't like it. This new format is like a TV show that should have been a movie.

The new format where we play tougher conference games and have a tougher road to a national title and you want to make that even tougher?

No I want something closer to the old schedule where every game was do or die and the season didn't drag into the most depressing part of the year.

I was commenting it's four weeks of bad TV, not that I think it's ever going back, so the point is moot anyway.

Every game is do or die, you're just a doomer. Regular season was watched more this season than any season prior. Our SEC schedule will be much much more difficult as well in 2027-2028 when it flips.

I'm still young, but my heart definitely doesn't need my team to be the one involved in nailbiters multiple times a season.

I'll enjoy watching Arch & Co. putting 40+ pts in 3 quarters of work before Trey Owens comes in and gets some game reps.

I'd rather watch OU sweat things out trying to get 8 wins this season.

We've got 4-5 solidly tough games next year already, and it'll get worse the year after that.

Any week with Texas Longhorns football is good TV.

Any week with college football on TV is a good week. Any week with Texas football on TV is a GREAT week.

I’m with Texifornia. I want to go to as many home games as possible but I’m (probably) not going to make three straight trips for directional schools. Home slate as a whole is pretty meh this year minus A&M.

I'm genuinely confused as to your point. If it's the most depressing part of the year, would college football not improve it?

And, how is four weeks of college football bad TV?

Both aggy and Arkansas are good hatred games.  All for those. And I've never seen Vandy in person, plus shutting down Pavia again will be good fun.

This is the most depressing time of the year? It's right now, because it's the most amount of time until we get to watch football again.

Get excited for the pageantry and excitement of the UFL!

You would rather take a nap instead of watch Texas football??? I dont care who we play. Any Texas game is a blast. Enjoy all of them bud, season is not that long. When we play a name the score team, those are the best. Some of the least stressful games on the schedule and get to see the young players get time.

Texas football has facilitated many a Bourbon induced naps in my house over the years

went to high school at North Shore.  Max Melton was drafted in the second round in the 2024 draft, which doesn't exactly happen often at Rutgers.

There is reason to trust Sark when it comes to coaching hires.

Good Player / Average Player  / Bad Player

Loved           Bijan                  Ehlinger               Swoopes
Divided       Simms              Applewhite           Kai Money
Hated         E. Acho                 Hager                B.J. Foster
Notes:
  1. I tried to limit selections to the beginning of Mack Brown's tenure or later. There are too many players going too far back otherwise.
  2. There are hundreds of choices for the "good player / loved by fans" spot. Colt, VY, Ricky, Ced Griffin, DJ, etc. etc. etc. I just picked Bijan because he's the most recent favorite.
  3. It's hard to find an actual bad player who is loved by fans, and hard to find a good player who is hated by fans. I loved Acho while he was at Texas, but have really lost any affection I had for him during his broadcasting career. With Swoopes, I actually think he was a good athlete but a bad QB. He stepped up for us and played out of position, and I love him for that. But he was not a good QB.

Ced Griffin? I feel like he might be divided.
