I could be off, but I dont see Sark running much QB run game vs most the schedule. I think it will be need based. I will be shocked if Sark makes it a staple of the offense. The opposition knows Arch is a capable runner. The scouting report alone will likely keep the backside from crashing on action away. I get your point about him being the constraint on the opposing defense, but I doubt Sark will even care vs teams like SJSU, UTEP, SHST, UK, MSU, Vandy, etc. If Sark needs to use Arch in those games, things have not gone near expectations. Its a risk/reward thing.

Not to Ehlinger extremes, but I think there has to be enough QB run game to make play action an effective threat, and the horizontal game has to have a pitch-pop-run option with QB keeping enough to spread the D wide. Both ways, the QB run absolutely needs to happen at least a couple of times a quarter to keep it fresh in the Ds' minds.

I would think, with Sark's gift - and love - for misdirection, we'll see some formations with no real possibility of the QB running... and he'll run. I think Herman called it "go fuck yourself", but Sark is classier than that, and will probably call it "DAMMIT!"

I think Sark's gonna call a lot of "go fuck yourself" with Baxter and "DAMMIT!" with Arch as well.

He's too smart and careful with QBs to pull a full MENSA, but he even ran Ewers quite a bit on tight 3rd and 4th downs and near the goal line.

Also as good as Quinn was "off platform" he wasn't running much sprint out passes. I think Arch is gonna do that a bunch, move the pocket and get tricky there.

Then you've got WR orbit motion one way, play action the other way, QB roll out the other way, and pass-back screen to the TE on the front-back-front-back side that the line is sliding away from with a pulling backside/frontside guard leading the way.

"the touchdown play" will hopefully not be that goddamn fake screen one way spin around fake screen the other way then throw deep anymore. That shit sucked on the setup and on the payoff every time.

Two Texas football players were among those identified in a self-reported NCAA violation involving impermissible sports betting, according to documents obtained by the Austin American-Statesman. The players' names were redacted, along with those of three non-athletes linked to the university athletic department. The five violators totaled $14,885.76 in impermissible wagers placed with PrizePicks, an American daily fantasy sports website, between July 11 and Nov. 4 of 2024, per the obtained documents.

Wingo's older brother Ronnie is featured and interviewed on an episode of Murder Under the Friday Night Lights on ID.

His roommate/best friend, a STL area high school football coach, was murdered a few years back.

Not to get all CR but I'm surprised that how "ProhiBet" is being deployed is constitutional.

What about it seems prohibited by the constitution? Genuinely curious, not giving you shit.

They sign deals with both the Operators (book) and the leagues (Teams) to do the cross walk.  As long as the data collected and shared by the book and the data collected and shared by the Teams is within their policy and use rights,  seems like it's a ok.   Here's BYU's ProbhiBet policy:

Seems like it could be an unreasonable search and seizure.  I'm sure there's fine print that supposedly warns the bettor their data could be used, but if it's being used by law enforcement, what probable cause was there?   And what right did the school have to it?

These betting cases are pretty fucking cut and dry simple. The dumbasses were probably only school wifi.

Who the fuck is dumb enough to use their real information? That's aggy-level stupid. Jesus. I always sign up as Marcel Reed, 19, College Station.

In “wait, what?” news, IT says Christian Clark was cleared two weeks ago. And he will take part in spring practice but probably won’t be a full participant.

Wait, what? That doesn’t happen with Achilles injuries.

Clear Eyes: check

Full Heart: unknown

Can't Lose: eyes are good, depends on fullness of heart

We are now checking eyes, but who on the staff is checking the fullness of hearts??

You would think after Saban's mandatory annual physical policy saved Sark's life, he would have something similar here.

I know you were joking

is there an example of someone coming back 100% from a ruptured achilles?  a skill player who regained all his speed/burst?  I know it happens much less often than ACLs but those aren’t really a setback anymore outside of recovery time.  achilles seems to be more devastating.

I fully expect arch to be VY 2.0

Arch is a better passer than Vince and he's fast. Vince owned the quick dash to the sidelines for a ten yard gain. Often he'd grab an additional five or ten and sometimes 30 or 40. But the ten yarder is the key to keeping Arch healthy and keeping the Defense off-balance. If they can shut it down, they're leaving a devastating RB/WR open. If Sark only uses it once or twice a game, he'll be hamstringing the offense. Let's see Arch moving out of the pocket and finding  one of our speedsters five yards behind the defender. Easy Capisi. Conference title coming up.

vince is the best college football player in history.  maybe wait until arch accomplishes something before mentioning them in the same sentence.

That's not very Texas offseason of you

He's going to be a combo of VY and Cam Newton, leading us to 3 TD blowouts of every team we face, ending with a 40 point win over Notre Dame in the CFP title game, when he throws for 3 TDs and runs for 2.
