I was impressed we didn't force something with Tre on that last possession.

It looked like we actually designed that play for Mark.

We overloaded one side of the court for Mark to attack Wade. As good of an offensive player as Wade is his defense is pretty bad at times. On that last possession, I'm not sure why Wade was forcing Mark left when 1) He's a lefty and 2) He had no help to that side of the court.

This is just horrible D. Why is he forcing a lefty to his dominant hand?

that was hilarious.  the shoot poorly(normally), can't make FT's but they are a final four team.  a big physical rebounding team in the first round is more likely to bounce them than they get to the final 4.

Despite their performance in the first half they're an atrocious 3pt shooting team. Atrocious teams from the 3pt and ft line are ripe to get upset in the tourney.

It is strange...we have 15 years of students who really don't even know that chant.  I'm not sure it is a thing anymore.

Unfuckingacceptable.

We have too many guards. Pope, Larry, Johnson, and Mark should be the rotation. Weaver should be used in emergency break glass going forward. Then you have more than enough depth at 4-5 with Kaluma, Shedrick, Kent, Onyema. With Pryor and Codie getting 2-3 minutes a half in case of foul trouble.

Larry had a 6/0 game with 3 rebounds and the key block on Taylor to give Texas a chance to win it. Weaver just can't deliver that kind of line when you also consider he's horrible at the FT line.

In defense of Weaver's, he is not a true PG.  He is our effort and hustle guy which I do like. Observing Larry, he is our only true PG that's looks to get everyone involved and plays defense. All other guards are true shooting guards, if I can call it “true shooting guards”.  Having Larry brings a different dynamic on the floor.  Good win for the team.  Great last shot from Marks.  He delivered when it mattered.

If the refs properly called the goal tend at the beginning of the game, we win the game by 3.

watching the replay it looks like Larry was going to try to go down low to Kent as the first option but aggy packed it in.  mark coming out top looked to be the 2nd option, but of course I' just guessing by reactions.  Mark raises his hand to Larry trying to get his attention when he moves out top.

Fun game to be at, students were back in force, most of the season ticket holders actually showed up.

Took a piss next to Arch at halftime, that might have been the difference.

Did you peep his hog?

We are a very flawed team but we also have 3 guys capable of going off any given game in Kaluma, Mark, and Johnson.

Pope too.

We actually have 4 guys that can go off in Pope, Mark, Kaluma, and Johnson. Mark hasn't really shown it so far this year but he's more than capable of going off for 20 points.

This is a weird team. So flawed but not sure I would want to play them in a 1 game setting during the NCAA tournament just based on how many scorers there are.

If we had a true beast on the boards and/or a Disu like scorer in the interior this would actually be a great squad. Our inability to rebound our opponents first miss makes the defense look worse than it actually is.

Yeah, that's been my thought the entire year.

With Toppin we would be so damn good. I guess we should have bought him.

Yeah, that's the big thing. Weaver should not be stealing minutes from Larry.

Larry's minutes have not made sense to me all year. He's our best perimeter defender as you saw today with him on Wade. He's also our best playmaker/creator for other players.

This guy should be playing 30+ minutes a game.

What has one got to do with the other?

Good point

We would have come back from 30 down and won by 10 if Saint Chris Beard was still our coach

If A&M doesn’t trot 6 players on the court in the second at one point leading to the technical foul, do they win?

Game of inches.

Agree…top 10 type team with 1) Toppin, 2) Terry committing to Larry has his starting PG, and 3) more consistent effort on the little things (e.g., boxing out).

As it stands, odd team construct without a net positive PF / C, and the perimeter D limitations of Pope. Imo Pope should be the 3rd guard off the bench.

yeah, Terry needs to commit to Larry playing 30+ minutes a game. I think Terry might be finally realizing this after today though.

Rodney Terry: "I thought Julian Larry did a great job at defending Wade. He's one of the best players ever at Texas A&M. He can shoot from range and drive downhill. We had to get the ball out of his hands and make someone else make a play to beat us."

Everyone can try and say Texas won because of the team or Terry or A&M choking, but it was none of those things. Every time I switched to the game, A&M would go up by 7-10, over and over.  So finally with A&M up by 7 with just over 2 minutes left, I turned it off.  I did it for the team and all of you.  You're welcome.

It's a talented team, no doubt. Talented enough to beat a ranked team while missing two of our best five or six players.

We were 1 or 2 plays away against Tennessee from having 3 wins in the last 4 games against ranked teams.

It may have been part of the play or not but Mark moving to the top to bail out Larry instead of waiting in the corner was heady.

I'm glad Marks was open to get pass.  He was big coming down the stretch and made the shots when they counted.

yeah, we look like a tournament team.

Outside of the Florida game, we've been right there with top 25 teams (Auburn, A&M, Tennessee, Missouri).

It looks like Larry was going to drive but I don't think the play would’ve been for Kent.  It probably would've been for Tre or Marks.

Shocked that they completed the comeback. Amazing finish.

Down ~20, I told my brother “this will be a one possession game by the final possession”

I wouldn’t have bet on us to actually pull it off.

NO!!! I turned it off at half, so I am responsible for the win.

Tuned out before half…

The team proved me wrong today, major props for never giving up and staying competitive.
