I think Ole Miss is one of the most overrated teams in the country. Currently down 8 to Missouri. Outside of Alabama, they've beaten a whole lot of meh to bad teams. I guess Louisville is a decent win too.

their worst loss is to #41 memphis and they have at least four good wins. their roster doesn’t look like much, but i don’t think anyone thinks super highly of ole miss or is overrating them. they’re a low second tier/high third tier sec team. i don’t see anyone saying anything different.

I don’t see anyone saying anything different than Rodney is a mid tier coach.  When can we expect ole miss to fully blossom under Chris?

that non conference schedule is Rodney Terry bad

Was at the game.  What a blast....

- It's probably up thread but how long is Kaluma out for?  He's the "adult in the room" on this team.  We are just way better when he is on the floor.

- Loved that Larry got the block on #4.  #4 was talking shit all game and Larry shut him up.  Like that kid..

- That said, someone upthread questioned why he wasn't getting minutes.  It's because he is a liability on offense.  He is sophomore year Steve Wojo...  He can pass and defend, but won't dribble past the Wojo wall (as we used to call it (gulp) 30 years ago).  The next time Larry drives to the bucket will be the first time.

- Tre, like in the Tennessee game, was better than everyone else on the court.  Once he got loose a bit and figured things out.

8-10 gets us in.   I honestly want to move on from Terry and I hope there is a bit of realpolitik barring a Sweet 16 or better run to allow us to go get the next guy.  But I also want to make the tourney and we should be above the line with this game.  Win 5 of Arky 2x, OU, Vandy, SoCar, LSU, Georgia, Ms St., and/or pick up a win in one of the other games and we are in.

Tre stands out as one of our top shooters, alongside Pope, Arthur, and Marks. Each player has a unique role on the team; some excel on offense while others can pass and play defense. There are some who tend to be liability on defense.🤷‍♂️I've mentioned before that Larry is an exceptional playmaker who gets his team mate involved. In my research, I found that he led his previous team in assists for the past couple of years. They should continue to work cohesively and help each other on offense and defense.🤘🏻

if texas and ole miss swapped rosters then ole miss is in the top 10 and texas is winless in conference play.

Too bad the ole miss coach fucked it all up and he’s not our coach anymore. Oh well, let’s move on. Unprovable hypotheticals don’t serve much purpose here.

In my research watching games he is not a very good finisher/distributor after driving the lane against SEC talent.  We lack a true point guard who can drive and dish or finish at the bucket.

Nobody has said he's a terrible coach.

It's just funny how you spin everything positively for him. 3 losses in a row and to nobody's shock utee97 is in here talking about his NCAA tournament resume. It's even funnier in the context of Beard not advancing out of the first weekend in 5 years.

So let me ask you this. If Terry wins a game in the NCAA tournament this year and has 5 NCAA tournament wins in 3 years will you still want him fired? That's one of the most successful runs in our history based purely on NCAA tournament success. Ya know since Beard's NCAA tournament success matters so much and all.

TS12, you are the fucking master of spin. If Beard was coaching here you’d be brow beating us with your typical nonsense.

Everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours.  I also had my reservations about Larry, which is why I chose to do some research on him. Each member of the team has their strengths and weaknesses, but I refuse to downplay what they all excel at. Larry is a true point guard who possesses the ability to distribute the ball, and I won’t overlook that. I like all the guys on the team because they bring their own unique skills to the team.  When our shooters are on everyone loves them but soon as they have an off night they have low IQ.  They are not going to always have a perfect game, nobody does. Glad they won and hope we can keep it going.🤞🏻

A&M man and zone were suffocating and we Def seemed to get more productive ball movement with Larry.

Terry seems determined to use the depth at that position with a steady rotation.

Individually, everyone on the team is talented (maybe besides Shedrick). There is just something preventing them from bringing it all together to be a complete and cohesive team. I agree with another poster though, if this was Chris Beard's team, they'd be playing lights out. Coaching is probably why they are not cohesive on the court.

What did RT do besides stick his tongue out in the postgame handshake line that has people’s panties in a wad?

Meh. Whether or not he's a great coach he seems to be a high character dude. That was a massive win that potentially saved his job.

Loved what he said here (2nd slide) "You answer the bell now you answer the bell the rest of your life". You can tell he cares about his players and wants to build young men out of them - and it shows with the effort they give.

If Texas needs to move on they need to move on but I don't think I'll ever have any animosity for RT. He stepped up and under a ton of pressure got Texas basketball out of the desert.

On the stream this morning, Gerry mentioned that aggy was chirping a lot when they were up. I suspect that had something to do with RT's "how my ass taste?" energy in the handshake line.
