so we're not building or remodeling a house any time soon, and have two paid off cars with no plans to replace either in the foreseeable future.

serious question... what other sort of household or larger purchase goods should be considered for sooner rather than later  purchase?

Been to Colombia many times.  Had an idiot buddy end up in the clink there.  Got out pretty quickly and didn’t get the full treatment.  I think being poor and ending up there would be brutal but like most poor countries you can buy your way out unless you did something truly horrific.
Anyways, land there Thursday for a chill trip w the family.  Next one will be w the guys and I can test my theory…

This is embarrassing. This fat fucking regard learned about tariffs and now it’s his whole fucking personality and he somehow wields this absurd economic power unchecked? FUCK THIS

I disagree with this thread title. Tariff wars don’t exist. Americans pay for all tariffs - a war requires a defense. We don’t have any when our president is an illogical clown.

That's good, I've never heard that.  My two favorites we used were "Pontius CoPilate" and "Orange Julius Caesar".

What you get? And you are fucking Venezuelan. Actually, you are a Creole Spaniard who is pissed cuz the king won't let you have upward mobility or a break on taxes and your slaves.

Colombia has backed down and agreed to accept all deportees. No tariffs will happen. Trump scores a decisive, highly publicized victory, using deportees that had already long been scheduled for deportation under Biden. This is why Trump will always win the perception war.

Nothing expensive or fancy. Doce cuentos peregrinos which are probably my favorite works of his along with El amor en los tiempos del cólera because it was cheap.

Also this slander against Gran Colombia will not stand.

Wasn't the whole issue was just using military planes? I didn't really get why we couldn't just use commercial planes to drop them off. But whatever. Don't know why such a small issue required a temper tantrum.

The whole situation was just bizarre. It is also why I don't like getting caught up in the daily spectacle of Trump bullshit. Most of it is absolute nonsense. Like the whole Greenland thing. Nothing is going to happen, and whatever does appear to happen won't actually change anything. It all just there to distract you from the bad shit that is actually happening.

If mexico started flying military planes into DFW I'm sure there would be no problems...

Colombia having a problem with the military doing this is perfectly understandable. Then Trump over-reacted to a ridiculous degree, and Colombia caved. I just don't think bullying Colombia over such a minor issue made much sense. What are we doing? Is this really the kind of insignificant shit we want to waive our big stick around for?

Anyway everybody will have forgotten about this (maybe even inside Colombia) in a few days, so maybe it doesn't matter.

Sure. But it chips away at the international structure we spent decades building up.

And makes countries regret ever deciding to trust us with uncertain consequences.

But I guess in the short term it will get us some short term benefits. Though what benefit we got there, Colombia agreeing to do something they already agreed to do, I am not sure.

The Fox News junkies won’t. Or even if they do, their subconscious will file it away as another victory for dear leader to satisfy their dunning-Kruger brains when shit gets bad for them. Doesn’t matter, he did a bunch of “good” things. The TV people told me so.
