Also, in case anyone missed it, Tesla reported a 13% drop in quarterly sales, so Trump put out a manufactured bullshit story about how he's going to let Elon go from DOGE, which caused TSLA to surge over 5% today, since shareholders tend to like it when a CEO is actually paying attention to the company they own.

Nice little buffer before what they knew was coming after market close today.  TSLA is now down around 8% on futures, so Trump managed to keep his buddy almost even while torpedoing the rest of the world markets.

This is some miraculously sinister shit.

He was tweeting today about how the Model Y is the best selling car in Norway and I wondered what was going on.

Serious post- a lot of funds will penalize you if you sell and then buy back within 30 days in a similar fund. You’ll most likely miss a huge portion of the gains that come back after the sell off. COVID and 08 crisis have more than a quarter of the best and worst days in market history within days and weeks of each other.

I know. And we have maybe one or two embassies that buy a lot of shit on the local market. US shit. We don't ship in spare parts for our US made vehicles. We buy them a authorized local dealer and then go to the host nation and claim duty free status. Most times you don't have to pay in advance. There have been some. And in countries that don't like us already. Their will be an impact.

I am not taking away from the situation in the bases. I am saying it will impact embassies.

I asked how many of the components in Teslas are made overseas? I really don't know. I hope a lot.

From AI.

Supply Chain:
China is a major supplier of battery materials for Tesla, with nearly 40% of Tesla's battery material suppliers coming from China.

I've come up with a brilliant idea to profit off these tariffs, but I don't know how to invest in Goodwill or other consignment stores.

Can someone help a capitalist, profit-seeking brother out?

I think there might be a wee bit of cheating on these coming.  No sir, these are 100 percent American semiconductors!

Probably.  If you think about it, DOGE probably has fired all of the staff across all of the different agencies that could check this shit out and verify where something came from.    And if DOGE didn't fire them, then the RIF's the various agencies have had most likely eliminated those positions.

That's not true at all.  Trump cares a LOT about the market.  Hell, dipshit took time to mention his market performance in the middle of this bizarre (not for him) rant.

Anyways, I've got my popcorn and am gonna enjoy the fuck watching these leopards feast on douchebag banker face.

But seriously, are you sure you don't need an heir?

It will be hard to get shit in, but not that hard to get shit out.

Local metal dealer drinks at my local pub. He was bragging about the last sanctions. They just "sold it" to a mexican company who then sold it to china.

But the ports? Anchorage Airport? Gonna be harder.

It will be the era of bootleggers and scallywags.

From the USTR calculation methodology exec sum. It really is this stupid.

As the head of a boutique financial advisor firm, I note that Jose the weekly landscaper does not purchase any financial advising services from me and I am running a complete deficit with him.  I decide to begin charging a property access fee to him until he agrees to stop the unfair practice of packing subsidized lonches and tacos made by his wife and instead purchase them from me (I’ve redirected my junior associate from working on finance stuff into the taco stand sector that our firm has been missing out on but I still pay him a finance salary).

It’s a regressive sales tax. It’s a tax shifting burden from the wealthy to the poor and middle class. Saves the richest people a couple of percentage points on their taxes, prevents cap gains, dividends and flow through income from being taxed higher.

i think DJT thinks it will solve all sorts of revenue, deficit, jobs etc problems too. Most economists disagree, any solutions it provides will take decades and in the interim stagflation is the big risk.

Putin gains from this. His global standing and the Russian economy were in the gutter. Trump is sending the rest of the world in that direction and making the economic playing field more level for Putin and Russia. He had also destroying strong long standing political alliances which benefits Putin militarily.

Whether or not you believe that’s the underlying reason for all of this is up to you, but it does benefit Putin and it would add to a growing list of things that Trump has done to that effect.

I think Trump does a lot of things that are clearly stupid, but I don’t think you can blame this entirely on stupidity. That would imply that he has somewhat good intentions for the long term of our country, and that his methods are merely flawed because of his own lack of understanding.

While the lack of understanding part is likely somewhat true, I don’t think the good intentions part is at all true. I think this is someone who is deliberately destroying our country. That is not stupidity. That is an evil person achieving exactly what they set out to do.

This is where everyone keeps being confused. Trump can't read. His IQ is seriously probably in the 70s, he's barely functional.

Everyone around him this time are all full blown retards. This is what complete stupidity looks like, everyone keeps trying to explain it away as evil, no these people are just complete morons.

I don't know if he can't read, but he doesn't read...which I guess is functionally the same thing.

I think they are very stupid. I also think that many in the administration are truly evil. No reason they can't be both.
