Wasn't Bezos one of the TechBros that bent the knee to trump during the election and after? I'm kind of shocked he is going this route.

Sort of.  I don't think he likes trump but he definitely saw which way the wind was blowing.  Preventing the WaPo from endorsing was particularly cowardly.

Also, next time some Trump official replies to a question with "Oh yeah? Well why blah blah..." I wish a reporter would reply with some sorta "Look, if you wanna play Freaky Friday come down here in the press pool, I'll come up there to the podium, and you can ask me the questions and I'll supply the answers. If you want maybe I can get you an internship, but right now my job is to ask questions and your job is to answer them."

This whole strategy of "wrecking industries and then giving them lots of money we don't have" seems unsustainable.

He was angry Musk got more power he did.

But I think he is seeing where the wind is blowing now.

Both those asshats are seeing where the wind is blowing. Bezos lost a few billies and Elon's baby is down 70% in sales. They are figuring out what a bunch of people from his last admin could've told them had they been willing to listen which is only Teflon Don comes out unscathed.

Then that reporter would get frog marched out to the front gates of the WH and their spot in the pressroom would be replaced by an RT shill...er, I mean "journalist."

This is going to leave a mark ...

How long until Jeff gets summoned to the Oval Office to have a little chat?

My wife works for an American manufacturer in one of their luxury goods subsidiaries. They have already done a 10% price increase and will be doing a subsequent 18% price increase next month. The original plan was to line item these separately as tariff costs, but they changed course last week due to a fear of retribution from the regime.

You'd have thought these braniacs who've done so well making money could've figured out between: a) a solid, high percentage chance to continue on with the 80 year old US lead world order and make a ton of money for sure, or b) a tiny percentage chance to manipulate an uncontrollable person to get all the money.  Greed won, they chose (b) and now they're finding out.  So fuck them.  We get fucked too, but fuck them very much in the goat ass.

Apparently God-Emperor Trump has declared it "a hostile and political act."  I guess we'll see shortly if Bezos has any balls ...

Pretty sure I can already tell you the answer.

It would be fascinating to watch the most powerful man in the world learn how tariffs work in real time at age 78. If it weren’t horrifying, and if I thought he might actually learn something.

Remember during the election when Dotard was asked about rising child care costs, and he said that tariffs would pay for them? Good times. He was elected president a month or so later.

What's the problem with this?  It's a tax and should be listed like a sales tax.

It makes dear leader look bad.

Yeah, I don't think Bezos is as firmly Team Shithead as Elon and Zuckerberg, but he definitely backed Trump when it suited him.

And he's about to be on the list of people who've done business with Trump and not gotten the end they thought they'd get.

It's bizarre, all these really smart people expecting that it'll be different with them.  Pure ego.  Yeah, you're the one person who can do business with Trump and not get fucked over.  Sure.

That was another nonsensical answer for which they were not punished in the least.

The evergreen GIF, applying to rich and poor, smart and dumb alike....really, to anyone and everyone who thinks they will ultimately come out better off for having entangled themselves with Trump:

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how to interpret exactly what he said.

He's a middle aged white dude, small-medium business owner, Fort Worth suburb.  Probably Trumpy.

His comment could be interpreted as I'm one of the orange mongoloid's loyal soldiers fighting it out against Jynna and our other enemies.

Or, I'm getting fucked in a trade war that we and I didn't want and didn't start.

Probably both. Oh well, leopards gotta eat too.

Alright democrats, here we go. This is something called an “opportunity”. Blast that shit everywhere. “Amazon was going to tell you how much extra taxes you’re paying because of Trump, before Trump begged Bezos to not do it.”

Has President Huff & Puff lost his stuff?
I don't see him out making outrageous claims every day (sometimes 2 or 3 times a day), or has the media grown tired of reporting on all of the noise?  And to repeat a point from last week, if there are 75-100 tariff deals to be made, with countries begging to get off the tariff train, why aren't we hearing about any new deals or seeing a parade of leaders coming to kiss the ring? (answer: because no one is buying the noise that he is selling)
