A lot of what I thought I knew about this country or family members or friends has been completely flipped upside down over the past year. It has been eye opening to say the least.

Yeah. Me I tapped into my own little FB psychodrama today after one Trumpanzee post too many. (Aw fuck it, let's be honest, I didn't need any encouragement to do it.) Basically told all Trumpkins on my page to scoot. Of course immediate support from fellow freaks and geeks I hang out with now. The fossilized High School Yearbook however had their furrowed brows and one or two flip-outs, which if I were merciful I would delete, but I left them up for now.

And a fair amount of positive surprises from that second group. You can never assume.

It's been kind of like one of those zit-popping videos. We aren't anywhere near squeezing out all the good chunks.

Probably woulda been easier to just delete FB, but I felt like stirring some shit.

While typically thrown out willy-nilly, the terms do have specific meanings. 1 ecosystem = 2 1/2 cabals (except archaic Scottish cabal could be 2 1/3 ecosystems immediately after the rye harvest if so proclaimed by the King's Minister of oats, ryes, corn, and burrowing wee beasties,) none of which should be confused with the Troy Cabal, aka le chabal de Troyes (pl. chabaux) which equaled 1.05 ecosystems (1 ecosystem + 1 shilling) and was current when gambling or otherwise settling debts between gentlemen.

Good. It’s incredible what we are now witnessing. The inevitable fall of all of this is going to be catastrophic for millions and I just no longer care about what happens to them.

An odd thing is in the liberalish town I am in, and the liberalish bar I go to, everyone pretended to be anti-Trump. There were a few I did not think were, and slowly the truth is appearing. You ask them about the crazy, odd shit, and immediately they want to play it down. What do most of these chameleons have in common? They believed in the tax benefits.

Leopards eat chameleons right?

I wish my had my Students for Nader from my 40 acres days. Just for the reaction.

I wish you had a shovel and a penchant for serving up some FAFO justice. These people are actively destroying the country with their decisions. Basing it on a short-term monetary gain, one that will inevitably hurt people who need that assistance through various government programs, will no longer have that available to them. Meanwhile the tax cut folks will get a bigger truck and a longer vacation while the poor in America that did not vote for this idiot suffer the consequences.

apropos of nothing...   but a friend mentioned to me that he hadn't heard very many leaf blowers out and about.   Thinking about it, I think there have been many fewer lawn trucks rolling about.  Today I have seen 1 (all day), usually there are at least 2 on every street.

Is this where the cost of things starts to fall?  Little Timmy better put down the Minecraft and learn how to pull start a mower.

It’s winter time. Most people don’t have their lawn crew come around for a couple months.

Yes, I have two (former) friends who still live in the shithole little town I grew up in (think "Winter's Bone") and they are both prone to clutch pearls and whine about the "homeless" ruining their rental properties, etc.  It's all a fucking lie, I know this to be true.  I've just cut them off.  They're beyond saving.

Imagine being from Selma, Alabama in the 60s when you had no reason to think the South didn't win the Civil War, and yes there was a thriving commercial district (Thanks, US Air Force Base and all your retired NCOs and Officers) but now it's an online community of obese white people lamenting the Lost Paradise because some people wanted to be treated like Americans.

Dipping back into that world is like drinking a quart of pickle juice, and I'm insulting pickle juice which does not shrivel your soul. You tell em the decline's also got something to do with the one industry packing up in a small city 40 minutes drive from a much larger one full of competing businesses, Nooo, you left out those people, it's them!

We could live there for free in a family house, but dayyum.

Oh the town is solid blue. I'm just talking about its mopey online exiles. It's the heart of the Black Belt and every Dem from dogcatcher on up comes down for 15 minutes to tapdance across the Edmund Pettus bridge.

Matter o fact, visiting there, I hop from one blue island to another. Only unbroken Trumpy stretch is Chilton County*, and that's like the Shire if the Hobbits grew peaches. I have a deep voice and know how to check spark plugs, so they simply nod and wave me through.

*I left out Shelby County, which is now solid generica. Bomb-making meetings replaced by whatever people do while driving around, say, Katy.

1- Online Columna Quinta? New forum....???

2- Can you hit the spittoon from 5 paces AND know who won nascar in 1984? (if not just say Dale Earnhart you dumbass and keep walking.)

3- Shopping at hobby lobby and sitting in line for 56 minutes for Chick Filet on their way to dinner at Cracker Barrel?

Nah, but you said generica and I know it well.

I drive by blaring Merengue on my way to Pollo Campero next door.

My evil goblin wife found out she could occasionally get White Women on Instagram types to snatch their children up onto the sidewalk if she rolled around with the windows down blasting La Jefa 98.3 FM.

My parents are no longer vocal about their politics, but they definitely voted for Trump 3 times. It was great initially when they moved nearby to have help with our 2 kids. They just left for the Valley for 2 months, which will be a good trial run for how much we actually need their help. As much as I hate to say it, I just don't care to be around them at all right now.

The head ICE dildo said Chicago has thwarted a lot of the ICE efforts because "they know their rights". I believe they've only arrested two people so far in Chicago.

Extrapolating from Hannity, I assume the low number of arrests is due to almost all the agents and the people they're searching for being killed by weekend gunfire.

read another way: it's hard to arrest people who don't just roll over and let us trample their rights. wah

The press just gives it a giggle instead of asking the next obvious question:

“So you are saying if they didn’t know their rights then you would knowingly violate them?”

it just dawned on me that having my roof replaced in October probably save me a ton of money.   And a very experienced Hispanic work crew doing the great work (for the Canadian company owners, as it turns out, in this dada-esque world)) might not be happening right now.

My buddy's wife teaches at AISD. He's claiming per her that none of the teachers of Hispanic background showed showed up to teach today. Now, my buddy's a naturalized citizen from England and known to s-t-r-e-t-c-h a story for effect. I'm not quickly finding anything about this online. Anyone hearing about organized sick outs in AISD?

$22/hr + a 6-er of Meelers Lite at shift's end and you have a deal.  Please provide your own mowers, edgers, and transportation.

We had our bathroom floor updated in the fall. They started the work the Monday before Election Day and they left here on Tuesday afternoon with it being unfinished.

After the Tuesday night election results and them not showing up at their regular time on Wed morning, I was sweating bullets. They showed up and finished later that day with no issues.

I mean, somebody could cut their gym membership and just work on their own lawn for free, but that's some kind of psychopathic crazy talk.

Sure. Or you could have a couple hundred bucks a month that you’re willing to trade in exchange for having an extra 10-15 hours a month to spend with your kids

Good Lord.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/03/americas/el-salvador-migrant-deal-marco-rubio-intl-hnk/index.html

Quote

El Salvador has agreed to house violent US criminals and receive deportees of any nationality, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Monday, in an unprecedented deal that has alarmed critics and rights groups.

Rubio unveiled the agreement after meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, as part of a tour of several Central American countries intended to consolidate regional support for the Trump administration’s immigration policy.

“In an act of extraordinary friendship to our country … (El Salvador) has agreed to the most unprecedented and extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world,” Rubio told reporters Monday.

The country will continue accepting Salvadoran deportees who illegally entered the US, he said. It will also “accept for deportation any illegal alien in the United States who is a criminal from any nationality, be they MS-13 or Tren de Aragua and house them in his jails,” he said – referring to two notorious transnational gangs with members from El Salvador and Venezuela.

In addition, Bukele “has offered to house in his jails dangerous American criminals in custody in our country, including those of US citizenship and legal residents,” Rubio said.

I guess that where Trump's political opposition will be sent

TECOLUCA, EL SALVADOR - FEBRUARY 24: A first group of 2,000 detainees are moved to the mega- prison Terrorist Confinement Centre (CECOT) on February 24, 2023 in Tecoluca, El Salvador. Since president Nayib Bukele announced state of exception in March 2022, over 62,000 suspected gang members have been arrested. Human Rights organizations denounce abuses and due process violations.
