From the creator of "This Is Us" gives me pause. (Then Sterling K Brown told me the same dude wrote "Cars" on Seth Meyers last night. I didn't know that.)

Yeah, I like Crazy Stupid Love. Didn't know he did that too. Still, though, This Is Us is just trash.

And Cars/Doc Hollywood is spot on.

Never saw Cars but was a big fan of Doc Hollywood.  Filmed in Micanopy FL (little town just south of Gainesville) around the time I was finishing law school there.

I like SKB notwithstanding This is Us so I have this on my list to watch soon.

We watched the first two episodes last night.  Intriguing enough to keep watching.

Is it considered a series or limited series?  Seems like the type of story that would do well as a limited series and get old as a full series.

Fogelman is involved with Only Murders too right?  I like that show just fine.

I'm in on Paradise.  Watched the first 3.  Wonder wtf is going on with Shahi, seems like more there than just grief counselor or even architect of social wellbeing

So I watched episode 1 and had no idea about the premise.  Maybe I wish I had because I rolled my eyes at end.  Seems like another Dome or modern day Silo or something.  I would have much preferred a mystery about an ex pres and the Secret Service agent that hates/likes him and that relationship in past and present while at same time solving the mystery.

I will stick it out a few episodes but not sure yet whether it will work for me.

Show seems like network melodrama on cable and streamed through a third party adult filter.

But I’ll keep watching I guess.

I’m 2 episodes in and I just don’t know. The performances are good and there are some genuinely good moments, but the fact that we’ve already been subjected to two down-tempo covers of “Another Day in Paradise” and “We Built This City” is just lazy and manipulative. If episode 3 contains a slow piano version of The Jam’s “Going Underground,” I’m going to throw shit at my TV.

I keep going back and forth on this show. There's the seed of a really great show with a cool plot and good acting, but the writing is bad and some of the plot lines are just straight dumb:

Spoiler

The daughter picks up a random ipad because it might "tell her what happened to her mother"?

The president decides to go live on TV and freak everyone in the country out?

It could also be that the whole "billionaire meglomaniac controls the president from behind the scenes" thing is a little too close for comfort these days.

Just finished the finale because I wanted closure to this horrible show. They must of had zero writers on it. The fact they kept having to use slowed down song remixes to pretend that it was a prestige TV show was actually really funny. They kept getting worse and worse. It really troubles me that I am part of the problem that allowed this shit show to get a second season.

Yeah...... they got cute with the assassination culprit.  I hate it when shows do that.  It's someone we never would have thought or have reason to think about, but they pretend to convey that had we been paying attention we could have figured it out.  Maybe being outside the city will make it better next year.  A bit of A Book of Eli with a plane.

The absolute dumbest part of the entire season was in the final montage when

Spoiler

you have this supposed bad-ass assassin playing Wii Tennis.

But I'll probably forget about all of it and watch the second season.

I didn't make it halfway through the first episode.

Did you fall asleep or did ya pass out?

This show is really bad. SKB is not a good actor. But, Sarah Shahi. Boner.

Tough to say. Some shows like scrubs, big bang theory, etc cause my brain to shut down to defend itself.

My wife and I have enjoyed it.  Billy Pace episode was our favorite.

I've enjoyed it, too. It isn't amazing but solid, it has helped pass the time until new Severance episodes come out and while we wait for Andor and Righteous Gemstones.

The reviews are higher than I expected.

And episode 7 was really well received.

It’s just unrealistic. How would the President be alone?  This one major flaw has bothered me to the point I don’t like it. Also other little things like preventing the return of the exploration team, and using Marsden to insist upon 80s music, and having Shani obsessed with cheese fries.

It is entertaining, but in a time waste kind of way. It doesn’t compare to The Agency or Slow Horses.

He's more like a figurehead mayor of a small city at this point.  Only 25,000 people live in the city.  He was not that important.

And yet he has a Secret Service team, that inexplicably don’t monitor all entries into his house. Implausible.
