Rumors right now are of 60+ dead or missing

Goddamnit.

911 should have permanently shuttered this airport if we're truly concerned with security and safety, but God forbid the political elite may have to drag ass all the way to Dulles.

Yeah—there’s just no fucking way we’re ever closing DCA.

PAT25 first started tracking NEAR CIA headquarters, unknown if it took off from there. Also unknown if there were any passengers on board, or if it was just the pilots

Why go east? Monument tour? Seems like up river would be the way to Wichita

Statement from American says they were up the river north on runway 1 circle to 33. That's an easier circle than the river visual 19.

So I’m not a pilot of course, but couldn’t they see the plane?

Not anymore

Speculation is that the Blackhawk pilots were wearing night vision and may have mistaken the aircraft lights for other lights in the distance. So most likely pilot error due to lack of depth perception via nightvision and failure to re3cognize where they were.

Still a maneuver I never like to do.

Fuck. All. Of. This. GODDAMNIT.

If you live in DC, We all have status on American. It’s basically a mini hub for American. I’ve spent probably 10% of my life on CRJ700s, as well as Embrear’s and MD-90s.

HOW THE FUCK WAS THERE A BLACKHAWK IN DCA AIRSPACE.

Between this and the flight paths image on the previous page, is there any chance this was deliberate?

I mean, a chance? Sure. But not terribly likely I wouldn’t think.

Much more likely a pilot fuck-up.

Fox News quoted a recording of air traffic control communications at the time of the CRJ-700 airliner-Army H-60 helicopter collision: ATC to the Army H-60: “Do you have the CRJ in sight.” The crash apparently happened directly after.

There are blackhawks in DCA space all the time.

I live on the Wharf. It’s fucking siren city rn. I’ve landed that runway probably 100 times.

I see Marine One almost every week. I know about the helicopters.  They shouldn’t be over DCA.

Because we're serious about both security and safety.

You as a real pilot, how does this happen?

Me as a private pilot, I pay the fuck attention to choppers because they are superior to a lowly PP in a Cessna. But this whole deal is super odd. How do you hit a RJ on accident?

We'll find out soon enough.

Officials say the Military Black Hawk Helicopter has been located upside down and almost fully submerged. There are likely no viable victims inside

That was a miserable weather day.  Several heroes were there.

I met of the flight attendants that survived. She spoke at my high school back in 83.
