Man that 2nd video with the walking  dude on fire. Total Gus Fring vibes.

yeah, it could be AI for all I know. With so many cameras in the world today, there's videos everywhere

I immediately yelled stop drop and roll. Crazy shit. Dude was walking dead. Insane.

He was dead, he just didn’t know it yet. Lifeteam 25 crashed on final at United Regional. The flight nurse herself was on fire as our seat is on the fuel tank in the 206. She screamed at the ER staff to leave her while they were pulling her away. She died 4 days later.

Seems extremely unlikely.
More likely an oxygen tank or some med equipment caused a fire on the plane I would think

1. Oxygen tanks don’t cause fire
2.I’ve never heard of any medical equipment causing a fire onboard an aircraft. Never.
3. You think that a plane coming down thirty seconds after takeoff wasn’t due to mechanical failure/malfunction, but most likely one of the two extraordinarily implausible scenarios you posited above?

Good update but you meant above freezing.  I would think the pressure zones around the wings would also have an impact so not just ambient temps.

I'm still waiting to see if they rule out a drone.

Correct. Depends on the plane too. Some have to have engine anti ice on a +10C and visible moisture. -4C to -6C static air temperature is optimal for ice formation in most cases.

Hearing from my Lear friends the following:

Quote

Years ago at Flexjet on the Lear 45 they gave us a scenario where we had a runaway trim nose down situation. With the plane accelerating so quickly after takeoff it was hard to catch it before it was too late. Running the trim nose down was common right after takeoff so catching it before it was too late required you to keep an eye on the indicator that it had stopped. It took both of us in the sim using full back pressure just to level the jet out while one of us activated the secondary trim. The departure path info and the video of the crash reminds me almost to a tee of that scenario.

Take it for what it’s worth.

The oxygen tank could have accelerated the fire after the crash.  But a fire wouldn't have brought down a plane with that amount of vertical speed 30 seconds after takeoff.

55 is under winged and under powered. Maybe popped a motor on takeoff and VMC rolled it or stalled?

Bet I flew with your friend.

Still trying to fathom this one, it had just taken off and was maybe 1500 feet above the ground and next thing you know it’s plummeting to the Earth at 11,000 ft./min.

If your 1500 feet AGL is true that is wild. They should have been well above that where they crashed. Also, that would be catastrophic elevator failure to dive that hard and fast. Nothing to do with engines whatsoever.

Nah. I put "I would think" at the end as a qualifier that I don't know shit. But it seems more likely to me than the plane getting taken down by a drone

This. At that dive rate it was mechanical. But we will find out in the next few months from the ntsb.

I don’t think a plane that size has a need for an elevator.

It was around 1,600 feet, which isn't that alarming.  The CRJ that went out 15 minutes earlier was only at 2,100 feet near the same area.  The ERJ before that was around 1,800 feet crossing Roosevelt Blvd. I'm pretty sure they were given a right turn on departure...they looked to be starting it, then it started going left.  Possibly from exceeding the critical angle of attack for whatever reason and rolling the plane. I don't see any big decrease in speed, but you can stall at any speed.

Well oxygen doesn’t cause it, but it sure feeds it.

Let's get that media circus thread fired up for the night crew!

yes, please.  I'd love to see only reports about what happened and the forthcoming investigation.

Wasn't the ValueJet crash into the Everglades the result of something going wrong with some oxygen cylinders? My memory was that that aircraft was carrying some as cargo, and something went wrong with them.

I remember laughing my f'n ass off the first time I saw that. Probably eating some  Pizza Time or Gumby's pizza and bigly stoned at that moment.

It’s still fucking funny when you’re bigly stoned watching it for the 48th time in your life

Those were oxygen generators, which (AFAIK) don't contain gaseous oxygen like a cylinder, but they generate O2 through a chemical reaction when activated.

Correct. That’s what happens when you pull on the mask to start the flow of oxygen. It kicks off the chemical reaction.

Whosever kid was on that flight is clearly important to some people. Cartel kingpin? The amount of coverage is crazy, even considering the recent DC incident.

Government or Mexican oligarch. So yeah, cartel.

But there is the possibility it is a diplomat kid.
