Maybe it was Agatha, ahem Nico, all along.  Still doesn't make sense he wouldn't have gotten more compensation unless Pelinka has groomed him far more than we suspected.

Yeah because Kyrie is all about self sacrifice for the sake of winning. There’s a million times better chance he holds the Mavs hostage for the max now that he’s got leverage. They’re going to be paying him Chinese money until he’s 40 years old.

Kryrie hasn't done anything crazy in how long? The clock is ticking...

Abbott came out a couple days ago saying he supports sports betting in Texas. A huge about face for him, and the timing is really really suspicious. Maybe Luka really did die for the legalization of our sins?

If that does go through in the next legislative session, that should satisfy the team owners and allow them to build their super duper casino and NBA complex. However, unless they start winning a bunch with AD, I don't know who all is going to visit.

IDGAF about sportsbetting.  The casinos just across state lines in every direction aren't there because of folks dropping parlays.

Stop poosyfooting around and legalize the shit.  It's so fucking stupid.

Mark Cuban already let it out by saying developing casinos around the arena is not something he has interest in leading. He said it with the "did you hear what I just slid in there," look that he has sometimes.

(This could just be me, because I tend to read into some nuance when Cuban speaks... But it's him.)

If they do move forward with plans on a casino / new arena-hotel casino, it needs to stay in Dallas proper.  In downtown uptown area.

Not Frisco, not Arlington, and for chrise sakes not the old plot of land where Texas Stadium used to be.  Nothing should ever go there, they should turn that into an urban fishing pond.

"Anthony Davis was forced to leave his debut game with the Dallas Mavericks early due to a lower body injury. Postgame, Davis said he felt a "little spasm" in his previous injured abdomen, but that the injury was "nothing serious". Davis followed up by saying he was "very confident" that he didn't suffer a setback in his recovery from the previous abdomen strain.

Davis got his Mavericks career off to a good start, helping Dallas to beat the Houston Rockets. In 31 minutes before exiting, the All-Star big man had 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks."

Day 6 AD.  Still can't believe he traded away a fan favorite who looks like he'll be a top 5 all time player.  And now they're gonna turn it around on the fans?  I will shed no tears when Nico and the Adelsons get run out of Dallas.

Oh sure, a sports owner with $34B net worth is going to get run out of town.

Maybe I should have said "when they pick up and leave..... With our basketball team"

Dallas hasn't run Jerry out of town.

Cuban must have been really in debt to the mob to have made this deal.

I wonder how deep he was into that Sam Bankman Fried scam

Yep. His reasoning for selling was so insanely shitty. Comes after the NFL for being overvalued, and then sells the Mavs a couple years from a new TV deal. He needed to get liquid fast.

They won’t stop the digs against Luka

Mavs Governor Dumont:

Quote

In my mind the way teams win is by focus, by having the right character, by having the right culture, and having the right dedication to work as hard as possible to create a championship-winning outcome. And if you’re not doing that, you’re going to lose. If you look at the greats in the league, the people you and I grew up with — Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Shaq — they worked really hard, every day, with a singular focus to win. And if you don’t have that, it doesn’t work. And if you don’t have that, you shouldn’t be part of the Dallas Mavericks.

I've been a huge Shaq fan since he was at LSU, but

This guy. If only applied that logic to themselves and to the GM who got fleeced.

If it makes Mavs fans feel better the Spurs are a fucking joke right now and doing their best to blow the Wemby pick.

Trade away Wemby for a bag of magic beans.., then we’ll talk.

So if the Lakers when the title this year--and they're rolling right now, even without Luka--Dallas HAS to fire everyone the next day, right? That's non-recoverable.

That assumes Dallas is trying to win championships. I don't think we can assume that

You just know how this guys FT form would look like, but he knows what it'd take to win in the NBA. Honestly I doubt hed make it to the rim shooting an nba 3 while shooting naturally over his head.

In this thread I learned that Shaq was a hard worker.  I thought he was a fat like Luka

Shaq - always came in out of shape, which pissed off Kobe

Famously said if he got hurt on company time, he’s rehabbing on company time. Shaq enjoyed his offseasons.
