Get altuve out of the game. What the fuck are we doing fucking around with him

ugly win.  which makes it a beautiful win.

a's don't play, so we're finally at an even number, and that number is 3.

90 wins.  10-8 gets us to 100.

so obviously oakland would need to go 13-5 in that situation to catch us.

what's the tie-breaker?

Not much risk at all in shutting down Springer for at least a few games. We’ll obviously need him healthy in October. I assume we can get to the postseason without trotting him out there every day.

On the third swing, the way Springer dropped the bat was concerning, but he didn't grab his hand after that one.  Hopefully he just let it go immediately to be safe?  We'll never get the truth from the Astros.

Anyway, I literally love Justin Verlander.

Oakland is not winning 100 games this year.

I’ll tip my cap. I expected them to be about 5 or more games back by now. But I do expect them to finally crack this week with their rotation issues and the pressure that’s putting on their bullpen.

I do really hate our 7 game creampuff road trip is the final 7 games.
I think it’s a whole lot harder to be bad teams when you HAVE to beat bad teams.
Would much rather have those games next week and get the 5-2 or so record under your belt rather than having to beat them the final week to clinch.

In summary, f selig.

I’m wrong on this. H2H determines home field in tie break game.

jesus, it looks like post wildcard but pre-2012 we would've been fine with a tie.  now we'd still have to play a tie-breaking game.  that would really fucking suck to lose that game, then have to play a wildcard game with your sp2, then if you win, start a division series with your sp3.  of course oakland doesn't really have that issue.
