Evan Gattis is the first player in Astros history with 5 RBIs in consecutive games and, according to Baseball-Reference, it's just the 34th time to happen since 1908. The previous guy to do it: Maikel Franco, as a rookie back in 2015, when he did it at Yankee Stadium and looked like a star in the making.

Not letting up at all

Sparks: "I don't feel like Smolinski is changing speeds up enough"

I'm not sure this was true. From one hitter to the next, there was a few mph difference in exit velocities.

This seems as good a topic as any for post #1000. I shared this after some Oso Blanco feat last season, but that of course was on a certain site not to be named. For those who haven’t seen it, enjoy:

they were rolling thru the stats quickly on mlb central, but i think i got them right.

in his last 26 games, gattis has 34 rbi.  in his last 7 games, he has 16 rbi.

if gurriel and gattis can keep (some of) this going, it'll take a lot of pressure off our sp.

Last night was one of the few times this year I remember thinking this looks like 2017 when we would just absolutely pummel a team...and the first I can remember this year where it was Gattis/Yuli/Marwin leading the charge instead of the big names

Hope it continues.
