Upon first glance, it looks like another road in Florida.  But the mid-sized mountains in the way back suggest not.  Could be a different country, but if it is---then the place they took this photograph---is that other country's Florida.

Had a friend of mine who did the same thing when he was a kid, lost half a toe.

Nowadays, anytime we argue about the best way to do a home project, I always end the debate with "come on, you gonna trust the advice of the 9 1/2 toed motherfucker?  GTFO."

Yep same here.  Had a friend who was mowing downhill with a push mower on a dewey morning and his feet slipped and he slid up under the mower.  Lost all of his toes on one foot.  Probably didn't help that he was barefooted.

no I thought the babies couldn’t control their venom release so when they bit you they just pumped all their venom out and gave you a more lethal dose. I read that somewhere didn’t I? any herpetologists in here?

I believe that can happen with juveniles, but I’d be surprised if hatchlings have much in the way of fangs or volume of venom.
