It's amazing that you can get to parts of the American west and be hell and gone from anyone too.

Yup. Spent a decade in Northern Nevada. Hunted in some areas that you could have buried a body and it would have never been found. Not yet, anyway...

You know, there is no statute of limitations on murder.  Good idea not to give specifics during your lifetime.

I love this image of the Korean Peninsula.  It says so much without using words.

Was going to post the same thing. Really incredible, especially given that Pyongyang is a major city with 3 million people in it. There's just absolutely nothing else there.

What's even more incredible to me is the African continent. Flying at nighttime down the continent you don't see any traces of humanity for long, long periods of time. As in hours.

The dark spots on the map are the best places. Luckily I live near three of the biggest such spots south of Canada.

Cnn Hello GIF

I love how the announcer casually mentions the boy was ditched into the icy river and, without pause,  moves on to the game highlights.  I mean is the kid dead, comatose, a polar bear?

The director's cut is even better.  Although the whole story kinda comes apart at the end there. Out of nowhere there's this lone dancer who appears to be injured. It's a disturbing image.

Meh, he didn’t show up to Bob Dole’s funeral.  So fuck him. You show up to the services of a man whose ticket lost to your ticket in ‘76

It was either maybe this is sarcasm or maybe this person is a dick knuckle. I guessed dick knuckle. Looks like I was right.

I'll take dick knuckle, but it sounds painful.  Carter is a fine man, and an exemplary ex-President.  Obviously we realize he has missed a few prominent funerals recently due to old age/ailing health.  When I typed "loser", it was to be the first clue I was actually talking about somebody else, somebody who uses that word instead of doing Habitat for Humanity.  But we'll steer clear of that CR topic on this thread.

The story about Carter and the reactor is very much "holy shit."  That he never really ever talked about it after that is even more holy shit, because fewer people have done something like that than have been President.

Speaking of nuclear reactor emergency repairs---I didn't realize that Alexei Ananenko and Valeri Bespalov (the divers) are both still alive and well.  There should be a statue of them in every Eastern European city from Milan to Minsk.

Your ability to weave in Seinfeld quotes to everyday, mundane conversations is really incredible. Or maybe I should say -- It's real, and it's spectacular.

Thanks.  It’s a coping mechanism since I can’t smoke weed.  And thanks for not pointing out Milan is not in Eastern Europe and was not really in any danger from Chernobyl.  Rochelle and I thank you.  And the other Rochelle, too.
