Almost certainly. Find a therapist who specializes in anxiety and panic disorders. Not one that has that as part of their practice, but specializes in it.
I have a good friend that’s a phd psychologist, university prof and practicing clinical psychologist. She helped me find the right person in ETX.  My friend tells me that anxiety and panic disorders (like my claustrophobia, and also acrophobia, agoraphobia, OCD, etc., etc.) is the one class of disorders with which her profession has the most success in treating. It’s already helped me significantly. Do it.

As a psychologist, 100% cosign with this. Anxiety-related disorders (including phobias) can be treated really effectively.

As for Christmas lighting, just forget lights and install Jellyfish lighting or the like. I don't have a fear of heights but why put yourself in a hazardous situation?

Also, badass that you were a firefighter. Major props.

As I've gotten older, I have also became fearful of heights. Not incident related, but just coming to the realization that I'm old enough that a fall from 10-12 feet isn't going to be like the old days where I would get ankle pain and just walk it off. It will now probably be broken bones, an ambulance ride, a few days in the hospital, and weeks, or months worth of pain. I don't even leapfrog over the side of a pickup bed onto the ground anymore. I go sit my butt down on the tailgate, and slide onto my feet, like a bitch.

Exactly. Friend of mine just turned 40 and is in a walking boot for 4-6 weeks after walking off of a curb the wrong way. With age comes wisdom....and humiliation.

Especially when age also brings progressive lenses and wondrous adventures in depth perception

If you want a zip line adventure with that extra bit of "are we sure they have this set up correctly?" adrenaline vibe, zip line in Albania. Sort of a combo of exhilaration and relief that you didn't actually die. And the new one they put in Dubai is really incredible from an adrenaline perspective. But the one in that video is beyond anything I've ever seen, much less ridden.

I have a tremendous fear of heights, but I would ride that multiple times.  It looks like flying.  The only thing that I'd be worried about is the T Rex or Pterodactyl coming out of that fog and snatching my tasty ass off that wire.

It looks like a great time, but I’m not sure I trust the inspections of the cables in 3rd world counties. Of course, I did parasail in a Cabo once. Most of the time I was wondering how long it had been since they inspected the cables.

All of this. You hear over and over again how much time is spent on inspections and maintenance in 3rd world countries. That's why Haiti builds the finest commercial airliners known to man.

Hopefully you’re bright enough to change lanes and avoid an accident. Unlike the referenced video, where that fucker can’t drive either.

No shit.   Once he saw that the racer was fucked, put the fucking brakes on.

What brand did you buy if you don’t mind me asking? Thinking of getting a pair for our cars.

I’m not @MissingInAction, but I just did the same thing, for the same reason.

I installed this one in my wife’s car:

And this one in my truck:

Both are very highly rated and easy to install. Definitely get the hardwire kit.

Both have equally good features and similar high quality front and rear cameras. The Vantrue has a cabin-facing camera too.

In retrospect, I should have gone with the Viofo for both. It’s much more unobtrusive and we don’t need a cabin-facing camera.
