Brett Kavanaugh Confirmation Thread

Ford's lawyers:

We have a polygraph and notes from Ford's therapist supporting her story:

Senate: Say, can we see those?

Ford's lawyers: No.

Letter from Grassley: I guess we are free to assume they don't actually support her position then.

LOL.   I hope there are some repercussions for those lawyers for their unprofessional conduct.

watching CNN go completely Duke brothers on this thing to the bitter, bitter end would be a good way to spend the day if not for ACL and going to Dallas for a certain football game.

I hear ya on that. I had some Astros tickets fall into my lap for the postseason opener, sort of relieved to something to distract me today

I have to guess that McConnell is about done with this.  If they don’t have the votes, they will try trump to move onto the next candidate.  Once a senator is saying they’re voting no, there has to be a catalyst to change their mind.  And I don’t mean leaning on them.  It would have to be more testimony or investigations and McConnell ain’t doing those.

If you’ve been right about this the whole time imma pos rep you to the moon and back.

Just to be clear, I’m not making a prediction.  I was just stating that as of this moment, they don’t have the votes. McConnell is trying to bully the votes out of senators and I’m not sure it’s going to work.

I’m 50/50 on how this goes down.

Personally, I don’t want Kavanaugh on the court because he’s a partisan hack and he would always be a stain on the judicial branch.  I think there are better conservative justices that have led a better life and far more deserving of the Supreme Court.

However, if he is confirmed it’s not the end of the world.  It will just be another sad day for democracy.

You could see in his wife's eyes during the hearing that his behavior was nothing she hadn't seen before. I felt sorry for her having to sit through that. She looked like a woman who married more for economic security than for true love. I'm betting he's a lousy lay and has never given her an orgasm.

Given how he’s acts, he may have a small dick, like less than 6 1/2 inches. Hell, maybe even a tiny dick, like we’re talking 6-inches or less.

It's not like she's going somewhere. Trump's saving her for the Ginsberg replacement. Of course, we'll find out she's not nearly as clean as you think.  She used to babysit when she was 12. I'm sure some of those kids will be remembering the porn videos she showed them, along with the satanic rituals and kitten sacrifices.

I read they they actually have someone waiting in the wings who was murdered by her 30 years ago and is ready to tell her story.

Not the first 5-4 vote but every 5-4 vote.   We will hear more stories about Brett even after he is confirmed.
I don’t believe the court makeup is changing all that much.  Sure party boy Bart won’t be the swing vote but Roberts will move into that position.  Like Kennedy Roberts will vote conservative 95% of the time.  For large cases, he will swing left.

Maybe, but I doubt it. This will get stale. Something else will dominate the 24 hour news cycle. You might get a blurb here and there.

Bullshit.  Did you see how he put that female senator in her place and asked her how she likes to party?  He has a HUGE dick...like over 3 inches at least.

Barrett may not be a hack, but she is a religious nut job.  She’s the proverbial choirboy, he’s not.

And there is the angle for the next nominee. She didn’t grow up quite as rich so we can’t play the white entitlement card, she’s a woman so we can’t play sexual assault allegation card. They may be able to pull a racist card if they try hard enough, but imo the angle will be that she’s a religious fanatic because she has lots of kids (no abortions) and is in a prayer group.

Protip, everyone who is nominated by The Federalist Society has very very little in common with the majority of Americans.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/36744/witness-told-fbi-fords-allies-pressured-her-change-ryan-saavedra

A woman that Christine Blasey Ford claimed was at the party where Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her circa 1982 told FBI investigators that Dr. Ford's "allies" tried to pressure her to change her story about what happened.

Leland Keyser told investigators that Ford's friend, former FBI agent Monica McLean, had urged her to alter the original statement that she gave about not remembering any such party and not knowing Kavanaugh, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The Journal noted that Keyser's statement to the FBI offered "a glimpse into how Dr. Ford’s allies were working behind the scenes to lobby old classmates to bolster their versions of the alleged incident."

A source close to the situation told the Journal that Dr. Ford's friends "including Ms. McLean, had contacted Ms. Keyser after her initial statement to warn her that her statement was being used by Republicans to rebut the allegation against Judge Kavanaugh."

In a statement, David Laufman, McLean's attorney, denied the allegations, writing: "Any notion or claim that Ms. McLean pressured Leland Keyser to alter Ms. Keyser’s account of what she recalled concerning the alleged incident between Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh is absolutely false."

The Journal notes that allies of Kavanaugh also reached out to people, including former classmate Karen Yarasavage, who said that she was asked to go on record about the allegation made by Deborah Ramirez.

Ford's ex-boyfriend claimed this week in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Ford had coached McLean on how to pass a polygraph test so she could get into the FBI. This accusation was serious because, if true, Ford perjured herself under oath when she said that she had "never" given anyone any tips on how to take a polygraph test.

Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell: "Have you ever given tips or advice to somebody who was looking to take a polygraph test?"

Christine Blasey Ford: "Never." pic.twitter.com/k5Pm424f22

— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) September 30, 2018
This latest revelation comes after Ford's story was thoroughly discredited by Rachel Mitchell, the prosecutor that questioned her during her testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who said that her story was "even weaker" than a "he said, she said" case.

Can everyone please stop pretending like Dr. Ford is credible now? She is NOT credible. It’s painfully obvious. I feel like I’ve been living in the Twilight Zone. pic.twitter.com/oYq1H7Q957

Ask Susan Collins how Mitch's promises work out.  An effective majority leader carries through with both his threats and promised favors.  If you don't, it can come back to bite you in the ass at very inopportune moments.  Like this one.  LBJ would have gotten Flake, Collins and Murkowski to vote yes with a 5 minute conversation.

She testified under oath for three hours with two attorneys after 36 years. If she had anything else to add it should have been done then. She has ZERO direct evidence to offer, unless she uncovered something in the last week she couldn’t in the last 35 years.

As they stated, they only spoke with those who were claimed to have direct knowledge of the incident. All of them denied Fords account. We still don’t know they month or exact year the alleged incident occurred

There was was no investigation in the world that would have satisfied those who have already made up their minds and feel it’s no big deal to destroy someone with no evidence because TEAM.

Disgusting. Would you like the same judgment passed to your sons, brothers, fathers?

Let them know if they have a beer this weekend they will be considered rapists.

Is this like the AHCA vote where it's the Democrats fault for not voting with the Republicans even though it was 3 GOP defectors who killed the bill?

You whiffed.

If the FBI is allowed to interview Ford, by extension they have to interview Brett.  Ford is begging to be interviewed by the FBI.  If Brett lies to the FBI, he doesn't get a pass like Grassley, Lindsey, Cornyn et al are all too willing to give him for untruths submitted to the Senate.

Who ever said Black judge robe doing keg stands I think just named a popular Halloeeen costume this year. Walk around with a robe and a yearbook and a handle of whiskey slurring about slandering your good name and that’s a hilarious, top notch costume even before the keg stand.
Thats appropriating white male culture though, so POCs can’t do it.

Beer. Not whiskey. Get it right.

So not interested in the truth. Just want to try and play gotcha and keep stalling.

They don’t need to give DiFi more time to pressure witnesses to change their story.

What would the FBI learn from Ford they did not already know?  Her attorneys are not screaming the Brett was not interviewed by the FBI, just Ford. Was she withholding information from the Senate?

her attorneys are the last people to trust on this. These are the idiots who apparently forced their client into the public spectacle in DC by withholding the private in home interview offer.

*and lets be real. This is a lie by Ford. The Senators were tweeting offers of just that (private in home interview) for days. It was on every news channel. She lied when she said she was unaware.
