Consolation prize.

Everyone's( allegedly) tired of Mahomes, but his worst season as a pro, aside from his rookie campaign of one game, is better than Josh's best.

It's a fucking joke that it is anyone besides Patrick Mahomes.

There are bigger and better things, for sure.  MVP used to mean something.  Now it's an attaboy for coming close...

imo lamar was the best passer in the league and a top ~5 runner in the league. my vote would have gone lamar, saquon, allen.

They call him iceman because of the way mahomes jizz glistens in his hair. Fuck mahomes and his pube headed haircut. Go eagles. And I hate the f'n eagles.

For whats its worth, I'd probably give the award to Burrow.

Mahomes, who finished (checks notes...) 6th and received ZERO 1st or 2nd place votes?

Mmmmm-kay.

I could see that. Almost by definition the most valuable player on any good team will be the QB since he touches the ball every play and it logically follows that the best qb in the league will be the league mvp. Especially in today’s game where passing is a bigger part than ever, and now they’re running a lot too. Looking back at the list there are several RBs but none since 2012 (Peterson) and the days of the workhorse RB are over. We see it happening in CFB with the heisman too. The last non qb/rb mvp was LT in’86. Before that place kicker Mark Moseley (before my time but didn’t expect a kicker in the list lol).

So does your Mahomes butt plug w/ bluetooth connectivity alert you with a gentle buzz or a full on pounding when anything less than a non-knob slobbing article about him is written?

Which season of Josh Allen is better than any season of Mahomes?  and it's the whole fucking season, not just beating both teams' sorry ass Division opponents.

You can stats it, but WGAF about stats? If you do clutch stats or important, VALUABLE moments, nobody in the league approaches Mahomes.  It's funny how in the past few years it has somehow become taboo to say so.

The MVP is just a prop for whomever can't make it to the SB.  I want someone in a live interview to ask Josh Allen who had a better season.

Which is it: the MVP is a joke of an award that no one should care about, or Patrick Mahomes' birthright? Shit, by your "logic," Tom Brady has been shorted a minimum of 4 MVPs. Got it.

FTR, if I had a vote it would have been Barkley. Dude is having an historic season that is not supposed to happen in today's NFL.

I actually felt like it was Barkley too.  Hell, he should get MVP, OPOTY, and CPOTY for his resurrection from that hell in East Rutherford.

If it's a QB, it can't be the guy who can't finish the deal in the POs.and Josh hasn't 2 years in a row, when it was absolutely on his shoulders.

It’s a regular season award.  Josh Allen had a better regular season than Patrick Mahomes in just about every conceivable way and also won the head to head matchup. It doesn’t mean when the chips are down in the Super Bowl that anybody is taking Allen (or any other QB) over Mahomes.

Allen, Lamar, and Saquon were all deserving.

Can it just be renamed the best QB award?

Last non QB winner was Tomlinson, 2006.

But it didn’t go to the best QB (Mahomes), nor to the QB who had the best season (Jackson).

Yeah it’s really not that hard. If anyone should feel slighted it’s Barkley. Burrow maybe too but he should be mad at his own defense. His numbers are crazy this year for a team that lost so many games.

FYI, JA just pips out LJ for highest QBR in the league. (Burrow is a close 3rd and noone else is in the same ballpark)

QBR is an attempt at adjusting the passer rating for the QB's contribution of the accrued passing stats.

I'd have picked Lamar if it was a QB but it's just shitty how a guy like Saquon is just frozen out. The award has been cheapened. They need to come up with something like a Cy Young award that they can give to the best QB every year so that it can open back up and other positions can be considered.

I legit feel like Justin Jefferson or Saquon could be the real MVP of the league. I dunno how you can watch those guys play and not feel like they are just different.

Why were they in that spot?  Josh was on the field for the whole pssession, as he was similarly in Buffalo the previous year.
He isn’t the Most Valuable Player in the NFL.

Good point. Because Mahomes isn't popular at all.

I was suggesting using results on the field as the barometer.

I know that is not urbane to the discussion of MVP for some folks.

Awards are, as has been said here multiple times, nothing more than attaboys. Their intended usage is nothing more than creation of discourse to keep the public tuned in and watching advertisements.

It is important to note that even a thousand attaboys are negated by a single aw-shit. Awards such as this one are essentis]ally little more than participation ribbons, especially in the context of the orgasams of leadup blather for the Grande Finale. Really, the League should hold a ceremony with multi-level platform for Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and perhaps Genuine Imitation Leather medal winners.

Choosing anyone other than Mahomes as "most valuable" is ludicrous. Without Patrick at Quarterback, the Kansas City Chiefs are a very average team. Although, to be fair, the same could surely be said of most teams including Buffalo and Baltimore.

Anyway, congratulations to you who are the medalists. Your handlers will be in touch regarding your required appearances in 30-second morality plays ostensibly selling insurance, telephone service, alcoholic beverages, fast food, and drugs. Other goods and services may apply.

NO. I was fucking with ZTejas and we're good.  Dictionary Rex doesn't play the same way does it?

Bottom line, is the original post was made on a phone in an airport half awake and it doesn't make a fuck now.  But thanks anyway.

Now that Allen is engaged to Hailee Steinfeld, does Mahomes deserve praise for sticking with his HS girlfriend or should he have waited to see who else he could have bagged?

Asking for a friend.
