And two top 5 scorers in UT history on that squad by the time they were done (top 3 at the time they finished their career).

Fun game, I had a bunch of Kentucky fans around me but it made singing Eyes directly in their faces as they walked out a great Longhorn moment - I've admittedly been a RT hater but this team is talented enough to make a run

You're a good fan. Hate the head coach - still show up and stay to sing the eyes.

I keep trying to throw the towel in on these guys and they keep responding.

Think we just have to wait this one out.

Fortunately Texas has a badass AD that is paid to not overreact the way we do.

Whatever happens this year or next, the times of going a decade without winning is over.

Anyone who hates RT needs to GTFO immediately.

Now….is he the long term answer? Most likely not. But then again, this team could find itself in the Sweet 16.

Okay whatever - you know what I mean. I didn't phrase it right.

The point is that he isn't a fan of the guy's coaching ability but shows up and cheers anyway.

I would happily take a SS run this season. I'll believe it when I see it, however.

RT has been a pretty damn good steward for the program - and he and his guys still appear to be fighting hard to get him another year. I just wish they had've brought it more consistently this season.

Ultimately I won't feel too bad if he gets canned. He kind of knew what this was and I'm guessing the past few years are something he'll never forget. He will always get a ton of credit for helping to get Texas basketball out of the desert. That '23 Elite Eight listed on the banner will always hang wherever Texas plays.

Texas loses at home - "Has this clown been fired yet? I can't make myself to watch this shitshow."

Texas wins at home - "We might go to sweet 16 if we can get hot. RT has been a damn good steward of the program. He is probably back next year."

That's just the reality of this team and this conference. And the fact that RT is riding a very tight line of what is and isn't acceptable for Texas basketball.

Son got accepted to UT today.  One of his first comments - "Well, I'm not looking forward to basketball season next year."

Congratulations. And he’d fit right in here on surly 😂🤣

Man, watching that game last night was interesting. I had no emotional tie to the outcome, but it was enjoyable none the less. There is so much bad on this Texas team, especially when Kaluma is out and no one is making any shots outside of Johnson. At least, Mark showed up tonight. If he could be that consistent 2nd scorer, we'd likely be over .500 in conference right now. Still, the biggest issue on this team was Williams throwing every Texas player out of his way for offensive rebound after offensive rebound. I don't understand how Onyema is just so fundamentally stupid at basketball, he had no idea what he was doing on the court last night, but still managed 4 and 5, which is something because Texas won by 4 and that was the most defensive rebounds for the team.

Also, Julian Larry has become almost unplayable, just think the level of athleticism needed to play guard in the SEC is something he's not capable of delivering. I was wrong about him, and would like to see Weaver get those minutes back, while he's a below average offensive player, Weaver has SEC level athleticitism.

More Pryor and Codie. they also have SEC level athleticism.

I would love to see Weaver get any minutes.

That groin thing sure is lingering.

The Pope Shedrick two man game needs to be put on ice

watching the replay.  the 2 possessions where RT decided he needed to go to pope v Mark/Johnson are the exact reason why he needs to be fired.  holy shit.  you aren't going to get Pope(who has sucked except for about a 4 game run) going with 5 min left in the game.

Pope is not the only one.  This has been happening all year and I don’t see it changing any time soon.

oh most definitely. terrible shot selection is a hallmark of this team. i just felt that pope’s was especially abysmal last night. it’s a must-win home game, he’s been invisible for the first 2/3 of the game, and now he’s just going to start jacking terrible, off the dribble, pull up, and/or fade away threes with 23 seconds left on the shot clock. that’s the kind of shit that gets you benched when your HC actually holds his shooters accountable.

I totally 1000% agree with you.  All the games we have watched, its acceptable by the coach(s). When a HC actually holds his shooters/team accountable they will be on the bench.  Also, should be the same for defense.  Seems most were recruited for offense and they maybe saying I didn't come to play defense, I came to shoot the ball.🤷‍♂️ Only my opinion.

yeah, this roster was definitely assembled with offense in mind, and the hiring of frank haith would seem to support the idea that the identity of this team is supposed to lie on the offensive side of the ball. but as either ravich or dykes pointed out last night, Texas is 13th nationally in iso possessions in offense. we don’t run a ton of set plays, we just employ concepts and trust our players to do their thing and make it happen. it’s not actually a terrible MO on its face, but where it becomes a problem is when there’s no accountability for low iq play and bad shots, especially when these things are happening repeatedly. we could basically run the same offense we’ve been running all year, and if our HC was even 20% more demanding that we look for and take good shots then i’d imagine we’d be at 6 or 7 conference wins right now not on the bubble.

I assume he says RT is a good coach?

Good question. The question that caught my attention was:

Does TX offense look any different this year from last year when you were at BYU having Tre Johnson on the team?

One of the responses: “Some of the DNA is still there.”

What do you think that means?😳

Pope's post game PC, very complimentary of Texas and makes one comment I'm sure a lot of you won't agree with...

Have you ever heard a coach say I got my ass handed to me by a moron???
