I see you’re in peak form from last year.

So is the team.

Dont get me wrong, I have faith that this years team will be better than last year and host. But goddamn if that didnt feel like a 2024 signature chokejob. Too many players familiar with losing on this roster to be shaking their bad habits this early in the season.

Fucking 2 runs in 9 innings on Louisville? These players waited all year to play like dogass? Fuck me. Same losing ways as last year.

OK we get it.

You're in mid/late season form. Team isn't.

I’m here for the over reaction lol

15+ Ks? This feels like our typical early season offense.

Don’t care if we lose all 3 this weekend, just keep improving.

We can’t all be lsu and have the courage to open the season hosting Purdue-ft Wayne.

Dude, this was fucking Louisville. They arent exactly a powerhouse. That is a team we should beat, period.

Eh, it's baseball. You lose to teams you should beat a lot, especially early.

It's game one.

Wait til April to panic.

I hear you. It's how we lost. If we had just gotten blasted, it wouldve been a much easier pill to swallow.

But no, we have to choke it away and make it as painful as possible.

Louisville has had a good baseball program for several years.

Used to. Maybe their roster is peaking again? I only saw from the 8th on and they looked great during that time lol

Is this where I softly whisper the bullpen was actually decent last year and the starters were much more of our issue?

Mercer got put in a tough situation in the 9th with 2nd and 3rd and 1 out. Hard to blame that on him. The 10th is all him.

We fired all our known bullets tonight so will be interesting to see how the rest of the weekend goes.

Fuck that. Maybe you would’ve invested less time so it would’ve been easier for you personally, but getting blown out would’ve been legitimate cause for concern.

I didn't know Mercer was limited to only pitching once a week, coming of TJ surgery.

Might as well just let him get healthy, seems risky to pitch him till he's totally ready.

He’s ready or he wouldn’t be pitching in games. At some point he has to pitch haha. Can’t just hold him back the whole time.

His stuff looked fine. Fastball up to 95. Wasn’t like his control was all over the place.

Live action pitching is part of the recovery process.

If anything, this is basically the best we’ve ever played in that stadium this early in the season. I think. Probably

If Mercer is ready, then why put limitations on him?

It’s how you come back from that surgery. It’s how everyone does it.

Don’t understand Kimble in the leadoff spot, hope that does not continue.

second, 2 runs off an HR in 9 innings is not a winning formula

14 Ks in your opener is not a winning formula.

Though I think last time in Arlington, we started with 18. So...improvement?

For people bitching about our pitching, we also posted 13-14 (?) Ks

Pierce made this a 3 year rebuild. Expecting anything before then is silliness

Maybe.

But I am not going to read too much into one game. Just starting to learn who these guys are.

This roster has holes but is 3x the roster Schloss inherited at A&M that finished dead ass last in the SEC the season before.

Let it play out. Also, there is no such thing as 3 year rebuilds in college sports anymore with the portal.

In the end the bats have to come to life.

Pitching blew the lead, but all those K's and only scoring two runs in 9 innings won't cut it.

It's a team game though and both sides let the other down in the end.

We weren't playing complimentary baseball

I'm not freaked out by losing this game.

I understand people are frustrated; this was supposed to be a cure for the basketball season.

It will take some time, and everybody should give it some.

We whiffed on pretty much every portal target. HS is still the path, especially on the mound where all the holes are. 3 years

The two best players on the field were Jared Spencer and Ruger Riojas and they both wore other jerseys last year.
