Lots of feast or famine seems to be the theme every year Tulo has been the hitting coach. Spurts of brilliance followed by not being able to hit anything.

Needed the reverse jinx

That's great if your a nuclear scientist, not so much for the athletic programs.

What’s the difference, to the student, if the scholarship is to play baseball or for another reason like regional outreach or DEI initiative, or a “this scholarship is available to anyone whose parents make less than 500k per year”?

Because great athletes don't go there, no exposure, for the most part.

The athletic programs are bad.

and bad like the baseball team that Texas can’t separate itself from through 16 innings?

This strike zone is atrocious

Yup. Surprised he didn’t call that strike 3, it looked bad enough to fit in his wheel house

Lou Gehrig played at Columbia.

Schloss seems determined that our relievers go 3 innings.

Yeah, seems really intent to push guys until they give up runs rather than let them gain confidence from short but super clean outings.

You are assuming that the scholarships from the school do not cover athletics.  They absolutely do.   All of the Ivys have “pay what you can” systems.   Average cost at Princeton after aid is something silly like $10,000.  This is a major way of getting athletes in.
