So much for Trump reducing the deficit:

 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/02/26/what-to-know-about-gop-budget-plan/80469749007/

The GOP House's plan would set up a massive reconciliation bill that would extend Trump's 2017 tax cuts and implement new ones at a cost of $4.5 trillion over the next decade.

It would also allocate $300 billion for spending on defense and border security, raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion over two years, and add almost $3 trillion to the federal deficit over 10 years.

The budget blueprint would also direct multiple committees to cut billions of dollars, including $880 billion in cuts spearheaded by the Energy and Commerce Committee.

1. cut taxes for the rich

2. cut services to the poor and middle class

3. increase the deficit

   - that is some real governing there! America first!

As of March 7, 2025, the S&P 500's P/E ratio was 27.3

The average P/E ratio for the S&P 500 is around 24.75

Headed to between below 20. That’s about a thirty percent decrease.  Lots of room to run imo.

No the stupid are the majority of voters, although it could be argued that not voting in the last presidential election qualifies one for the stupid label too.

They are tanking the economy early and on purpose to:

1. Justify a bunch of austerity bullshit combined with stimulus for key voting blocs.

2. Normalize a shit economy before midterms so voters think of it as the new normal.

A common mistake made the last 10 years, trying to apply logic to the illogical. There is no grand plan behind any of this, we're at the whims of a capricious man baby who thinks hes the smartest person in the world but will listen to any voice that strokes his ego

I'm sure Wall Street is going to love it.

"Based on Ontario, Canada, placing a 25% Tariff on 'Electricity' coming into the United States, I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to add an ADDITIONAL 25% Tariff, to 50%, on all STEEL and ALUMINUM COMING INTO THE UNITED STATES FROM CANADA, ONE OF THE HIGHEST TARIFFING NATIONS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD," the president wrote on Truth Social, saying those higher tariffs will go into effect Wednesday.

The second half of that post was all about how Canada needs to be part of the United States.

We are headed to a depression, and war.  Against our closest allies.

We are not yet 60 days into this administration.  This nation may not make it to the 120 day mark.

If conversations among senior military officers are not yet happening about what to do when it all falls apart and he orders them to kill Canadian troops and civilians, then our military has already failed us.

We are rapidly approaching the second-to-last failsafe (military refusal to act, and then open conflict with the POTUS).  The final failsafe is guerilla resistance of the people against the regime and its loyalist forces.

Kind of what I'm getting at.   The one predictable thing about Trump is he hated stock market losses.  It's why he was going so crazy at the beginning of Covid because it was out of his control (remember the 'stop testing' line as the market was crashing).  Someone convinced him to ignore the one thing we always thought he cared about.

So he has found another way to get rich that doesn't require the approval of the stock market... or he has someone shorting on his behalf.... or he knows that if he destroys the country, he can blame the mexicans while shooting his shot at being dictator.

Sounds simple, but it's most likely one of those three things.

I'm being 100% serious when I say I gave nuclear war a fairly substantial odds of happening when I saw the election result, I'm not being remotely hyperbolic when I say this.

Oh, I definitely saw that (the realignment of the US with Russia, completely destabilizing Europe and incentivizing multiple states to nuclear arm right quick).  But that was easy-pickings, prediction-wise.

War.  With Canada.  Come on, who the fuck saw that coming?  It's completely and totally insane -- I can't even come up with a CORRUPT reason for it.  It's nothing but the product of an insane madman's mind, spinning out shit at the speed of light.

It's just Paradox (games) brain. Someone showed him Crusader Kings or Hearts of Iron and he was like "wait, you can move the lines on the map?" And then he realized that's what Putin was doing and wanted to join the fun.

If we get to the point of Canada threatening to cut off electricity to the states that they're supplying, I would fully expect that Trump would threaten to send in troops as they're harming our national security.

With all of this winning, I'm uncertain that I can contain my excitement.
